Howdy all,
For some time, I've been wanting a MPlayer port for the HTC Tattoo, so I can watch AVI, WMV and other media formats on the go, like you can do on the iPhone (once jailbroken and you've downloaded the Mplayer app from Cydia).
Is this possible to compile? Android would benefit from a better media player...
Cheers,
Coburn
Already done. See here:

It's not really done - they made it in executing the mplayer binary on an android device but the app is really slow ATM and android ndk is not used also, so the app works but inacceptably slow :/
Have you make it works?
Could you offer the compiled package.
I am using xdandroid in raph800
If you can make it as good as the PC one, definitely YES! I believe it has great potential
I would like to have a decent video player like mplayer running under android. The question is can it be fast enough? Even with a 1 GHz cpu the software decoding could be quite a task.
Hi everybody
I have a Android based tablet(junpad, like flypad) that i have as a spotify player.
Now i woundering if ther is any apps that make it possible for me to use my galaxy s or laptop as a remotecontrol to change track etc, etc. have looked at Remote Web Desktop but i cant control spotify through that. And DroidMote Server does not work on the tablet for some reason.
So, is there any aps out there that fits me?
I can connect a wireless usb mouse to the tablet, but how cool is that? Would be nice with a app or something
No one knows anyting that can work?
I'm gonna drudge this up instead of starting a new thread. Same question. I would like to control Spotify from my Galaxy Tab 10.1 with my Galaxy S III...
... also same questiion....
Did you get any further with this?
It would be great if Spotify could enable an option to play music on any other device (with the same user registered).
My best solution so far is with Spot Commander; an android application which controls a spotify server on a Linux netbook.
But I'd prefer to use an obsolete Android phone - since it would use much less power - also in stand-by. Another idea - perhaps the spot commander server application (which is Open Source) could be ported to the Raspberry Pi.
Media Remote
Media Remote by appshroom works but is pretty limited.
Hey folks,
Sorry to kick up an old thread, but I was Googling around to find the answer to the question posed above and I thought maybe answering this thread would help the next guy. It seems that if you want to control Spotify on Android from another Android, you can do so using DroidRemote. The downside to doing it this way is that it uses bluetooth.
I'd really prefer a way to do it via WiFi as its' range is higher and I don't have to turn on the bluetooth radio just for this purpose, which in turn consumes my precious mAh's. It'd also be dandy if I could use my Windows box to control Spotify on Android.
This Galaxy Tab 2 will do nicely as a Spotify player but controlling it remotely would be even more boss.
Hello,
Is there any new solution to remote control Spotify on tablet from a phone ? Is there no tweak available or mod ? Even if you root your phone / tab ?
Regards.

I second this question.
I have a small Minix as my spotify player connected to my TV and surround system. I have been searching forever for a solution that will allow me to control the Minix spotify session from my Nexus7 Tablet.
Any suggestions? Please!!!!!

I was wondering if exist, or if it's possible to build, a special android release for old smartphones without basic phone functions, to be used just as standalone media player. I mean a basic distribution that allow just playing local audio files or remote files through wifi home network.
I have an old xperia x8, which is a good phone and there are a lot of android based custom roms, but i need to use it just as a media player.
As soon as I power it on it has to show a list of music files to play.

Bump!
I think this is quite an interesting question. I'm using my old Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) as a media player, and I've installed Cyanogenmod on it. I'm playing the songs (local) with the built-in Appolo, but if there were to be a music player ROM, I would be interested.
Maybe using a Slim ROM (SlimBean, SlimKat, etc.) and using the SlimSizer option to get rid of unnecessary things could be a way to get a version of Android stripped of everything you don't need in a music player. However, that won't show the list of tracks when booting the phone.

Hi
i want to make an app totally similar to this one (which is not yet supported after android api 14)
audioshift.surina.net
www youtube com / watch?v=AGZ7z_OVahU
wich basically is a realtime audio effect, that get the output mix, do some dsp stuff and put the result out.
i reverse enginereed the app and found that they provide a native library, to make their specific implementation of a generic android.media.audiofx.AudioEffect (using TYPE_NULL).
this library i suppose i a slightly variant of the OpenSrc soundtouch.surina.net
so my question is how can i do this modification to the soundtouch library? because in the library is only present a method that operate on samples from file and not from stream.
Thanks
Im intresting how to do this
Im found half solve for this problem with changing samplerate in audio policity files, but my problem tempo is slowed down, while pitch is good for me.
Hi android enthusiast.
I wonder if you around here are also into PC game streaming. Like on Twitch or on youtube.
If so, you might have fallen over the new Elgato Stream Deck Hardware: https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/stream-deck
Do you guys know if something similar and software based exists for Android?
Wouldn't it be great to manage your Streams but with your mobile phones?
Maybe one of you Magic Devs on here has a bit free time and could look into it and maybe it's possible to have an android stream deck on time.
regards
I know this is an ancient question, but just in case anyone is wondering you can create something similar using Tasker to do anything on an android. You can create a UI using AutoTools WebView. There are many ways to interface with the PC, but the integrated one would be to use Join and EventGhost.
