Has anyone tried the new better keyboard?
does anyone have a problem where the previous word they typed with the hardware keyboard keeps retyping itself?
for example, if i typed "hi" and i delete it then type "what" it would then say "hiwhat"
it keeps doing this till i accept hiwhat.

I just updated my HD2 with official ROM (Asia WWE). However, I see some changes in keyboard. Earlier, after entering single letter 'i', it would get converted in upper case 'I' even if written in mid sentence. Its very convenient since you don't have to explicitly capitalize it. Now, after upgrade, it remains 'i'. Any workaround for this?
Also, when I would type wrong spelling it used to get corrected as I typed. But now, it is corrected after I press space or full stop. This is okay, however, I would like if it to work like old keyboard.
Thanks in advance.
Lets say I'm typing something and the last word is "end." If I hit enter to start a new line but then decide I want to add something to the previous sentence I would move the cursor back to the last word "end" and hit space... instead of inserting a space, it will insert the same word again "end"
So it looks like this "endend"
Anyone else have this problem
yeah i get that as well.
Yeah. Same here. It is annoying.

I sent an email to the dev and explained the problem. He said he'd look into it. Do u think its fair to ask for a refund since it doesnt even work properly for us?
I'm having the same problem with Thumb Keyboard, I also installed Swiftkey X for Tablets and it has the same issue. Did anyone find anything out on this?
are you guys talking about in the notes app. because I get the same thing but only in the notes app. for example I typed this using thumbkeyboard and tried to replicate the issue and didn't have the problem. but when I typed this in notes I did have the problem.

I too am only having an issue with the notes app. When I tested in gmail, the browser(in a contact text field), in evernote and all worked fine.
I can confirm the issue happens with swiftkey x
I also tested it with smart Keyboard pro and I didnt experience this issue.
Man, there is nothing more annoying than seeing the question you are thinking of, pop up almost word for word on google....then seeing that the only responses are "I am having the same problem!" Come on, so NO one knows how to fix when you are typing, and (for example) want to add a letter to the middle of a word, like you want to add a "E" to death, and the cursor automatically goes to the end of the word instead of actaully putting the letter where you want it.
Does ANYONE have a clue what settings the Tumbkeyboard needs set to in order o not have the cursor jump to the end of a word?
I gave up on thumb keyboard... really made typing difficult with the double words. Kii keyboard is where it's at now.
i'm the same issue
That's strange : I don't have this issue with mine (SwiftKey X tab last version) !
Hi, i have been using the Android Keyboard from Exynos Extreme Rom, and i have issues with typing things.
For example, when i type 'hello how are you today?'
it'll come out as 'hhello how are you ttoday?'
or when i start a new line of words, it'll 'auto transfer' the last word i used.
if i typed: 'i finished my dinner le'
then i press send, then the next line when i type 'have you taken yours?'
it'll come up as 'lehave you taken yours?'
get what i mean? anyone else experiencing these problems? please advice D:
i know for sure that i didn't press the same key twice. i'm 100% sure of it.
i find this problem very annoying T.T
So I downloaded the Google Keyboard 2.0 from AndroidPolice (http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...0-from-android-4-4-with-space-aware-gestures/), and noticed a problem:
When I'm typing, and I mistype, instead of correcting to the most likely word like it did in the old blue version, now it autocorrects to whatever I mistyped…but in all CAPS. So, if I'm typing "that" and instead I type "thay" it will autocorrect to "THAY." This is extremely obnoxious, but I wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issue?

I am also having this issue! Most infuriating!
My suspicion is that it's "learning" from the times that I DO type in all caps (for effect. for drama. for intonation), and then weirdly trying to correct to those. But an update fix would be glorious for sure.
There is a long-term bug in the basic Android system that affects the keyboard when autocorrect is used, and I hope someone here can offer some insight and help because it's been driving me nuts for years, over many phones and many versions of Android. Now it's just started happening on my new Sony Xperia X3.
At first, all is well. But then, after a certain amount of typing, you start to experience the Autocorrect Backspace Bug. Symptoms:
If you use autocomplete by selecting one of the suggested words and then press Backspace, no longer is the entire word deleted. Instead, entire words or parts or words are inserted until whatever you were trying to type is complete garbled.
If you press Space before Backspace, the autocompleted word will be repeated in its entirety followed by a space, and then you can delete both words letter by letter without new words or letters being inserted.
If you long-press the text to bring up the CopyAll-Cut-Paste menu and select CopyAll, only the word you were pressing on is selected, rather than all the text.
Clearing the Android cache for all apps and data doesn't help, nor does deleting all the learned autocorrect data. Turning off Autocorrect completely isn't a great solution for me because that also turns off Swype, which I like to use.
I have had this problem with my last 3 Android phones, so it has existed since at least Android Gingerbread. Google searches of this problem have turned up complaints about this bug since Gingerbread, but NOT ONE SOLUTION.
The people who frequent this forum are the smartest anywhere about things Android. Any thoughts????
anyone else experienced this?
Has anyone else here even experienced this bug?
God, yes! This is such a PITA, especially when typing om forums or fb-comment sections..! Please tell me you solved it?!
I recorded the bug to show it better - why is no-one else complaining about this, googling gets me no answers. FYI it happens to all keyboards I've tried, incl Google and Xperia.

Good video!
I solved the problem by switching to a keyboard that has its own autocorrect. Not all do. Many use the built-in autocorrect. I'm using SwiftKey now. It had its own autocorrect.
