I just would like to know a little bit about these ROMs. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks as though there are 4 or 5 different ROMs with the "Einherjar" label on them in the DEV section. At first, quick glance it looks as though the only thing that seperates them is the themeing.
Can anyone who uses these ROMs explain to me what sets them apart from each other, and why you chose to go with them over Axura or Bionix?
Their team is large, different guys work on different projects. It's more than the theming, but there is only so much that can be changed from a user's perspective.
I LOVED the notification bar on Flagship (it changed colors depending on your app/background), and that rom was great... Been using Trigger for a little over a week and it's floored me... just amazing speed/stability.

yah so far it looks like Trigger would be the one i would go with.....ill give it a run later on....i loooove axura, but it can be a themers nightmare when switching between ROMs, and i care about appearance ALMOST as much as i care about performance
I'm a big big fan of Master and recommend it to many.... that said, Trigger is themed more to my liking and has been rock solid. Did you see the videos I put?

V2.0.1
V2.1.1
The best way to explain why there are both similarities and big differences in the EDT releases is to explain how we work as a team.
EDT Devs all have a project of their own that is their main area of responsibility. The roms are developed from a stock base - there is an exception to this when it comes to MIUI and the AOSP roms. This Dev has the support of all the other devs when something needs done - this explains the similarities, if one dev does the same thing on multiple roms. There is also members like white and behr who have their on special abilities and contribute to all of the EDT roms.
Duplicate post.
They made 2.2.1 stock rom. That makes them the best. Period. If u have not tried it. U should.

You do realize that its just 2.2.1 apps on a 2.2 ROM? The new Bionix Frost when it comes out is 100% 2.2.1, dev said himself...

Stand by battery life is great, as good as stock. When using the phone it drains a little bit faster, your overclocking by 400 so its expected. Overall i would say its as good as stock.

That's a bit over-simplified. It is much more than just 2.2.1 apps on a 2.2 Rom. It does take more to doing that than just placing the apps in there. It requires re-mapping all the apps, replacing and including the necessary lib files, etc.
Please do not continue an arguement that has been settled now that EDT, TW and Devs4Android are no longer at each others throats.

No! If you would read you would see its not a complete kernel its nothing more than a proof of concept. Z's announcement was meant for developers to know he had accomplished the bypass and would be providing source for custom kernels. The current kernel will never be developed or supported. There is absolutely no reason for 99% of the people here to flash this kernel.

As of now, I don't think it's a good idea.
Just wait patiently for devs to do their work.
I don't think the wait will be long
Things sure changed fast in the X10 development in the last few weeks.
It's a good idea xD

Agreed it works. Well for daily use
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Backup you're current ROM and try flashing it. I tried it on 2.1 and 2.2 but on wrong bb. For the few seconds it worked (before it restarted) i was amazed at how much more responsive it was. Back to SE kernel for now. If was on the right bb i would gladly use it as a daily rom.
Flash the right bb, it's worth it
Nah, I think I keep my 2.2 until SE releases Gingerbread.
Flash-support and JIT really makes my phone smooth even if its still locked in FPS.
But it will be really interesting to see what the devs can do with custom kernels.
I can't even think of going back to the fps capped froyo roms now. Its just so smooth. Like a new phone.

does camera and video recorder work on the new kernal?

its well worth it! everything is so fast and smooth espesiaclly launcher pros scrolling between homepages. i have had no problems with this custom kernal at all so i think its fir for daily use.
Man there are so many 2.2.1 ports! So I was wondering, which 2.2.1 Rom is the best out if the ones you tried? And why are you on the one you are on now?
Thanks!

I tried the latest 'AOSP' Gingerclone, it was pretty snappy. Although, I'm not a fond of 2.2.1 ports, it was ohkay. I prefer Bionix-V 1.2.1 (Modified to my liking.) or CM7.

I realize that most of these rom threads are very long. But when I am looking, I always read through them and usually don't download them until they've been up at least a couple of days. I take into consideration what others have to say but even more then that I look to see how often the developer responds to questions and problems.
Now that I've tried a few EDT roms I find myself downloading there beta roms 5 minutes after they've uploaded them. Not to take anything away from any other developers but just take a look around XDA, there's always at least one of their team members on here helping someone with something. They are very devoted to making this a better phone and not just for themselves.
So to answer your question Bi-Winning is my rom of choice for 2.2.1.

I can't wait til MIUI has working GPS ... I had it on for a couple weeks and loved it more than any rom out there. Kernel - meh.
Try Revolution Rom RC1.1, it is really stable, it is GB 2.3.4, GPS works, and the kernel is bullet by cmenard.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
none of these roms are really gonna work well on the sgs4g, that said i know krylon mentioned a way to port vibrant roms to the sgs4g i believe there should be a thread in the sgs4g section
I havent used a FroYo ROM in quite sometime because i moved onto CM7 and now ICS, but i got my mom a Vibrant today and i was wondering what the most solid and fastest ROM is, I remember Bionix 1.3.1 was always great, but has anyone made a super killer FroYo ROM that you would suggest?
P.S. I am just looking for something that works with no kinks, GPS Working and good battery life.
Bionixxxx
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yep, I'd go with Bionix if you want a good, solid ROM with no kinks. I ran it for more than six months, and I loved it. Good GPS, great battery, just a solid ROM all around.

I've run the gamut from 2.1-4.0 roms for our Vibrant, but Deranged 9 is my favorite. Great Battery life, working GPS, support for tons of themes once it hits final and as fast as CM7....

Seriously, I know its my rom, but its probably the most stable and up to date (last updated on Black Friday) froyo rom we have rolling around. I am running ICS currently, but I do still support ZD, in the rare occasion that support is needed. There are also vanilla froyo and gb themes available, with or without a multitude of lock screens thanks to contributions from the community.

he meant deprecated, not depreciated. meaning, it is old, out of use, and has been replaced (i.e. obsolete due to a newer, better version). i'm guessing 'deprecated' got autocorrected.

That's true. It's like asking which ice cream flavor is best. So try a few and see what floats your boat. But be careful though - if you start with ZenDroid you probably won't get around to flashing anything else.

I think Bionix is the most solid to date, but thats stating that we haven't perfected a 2.2.1 rom!!!
I am surprised no one has mentioned either Toxic8 or Deranged9. I have had nothing but solid, stable experiences on both if them. I feel that nearly all the Froyos are about as stable as they can get at this point.
ICS has taken over as the flavor most wanted, so not much on the future horizon for Froyo.
They all felt the same....just different features...
