Hi all,
I bought an archos 101 yesturday and I am very happy with it.
I have just a little question : (excuse my ignorance)
Why where is 2 usb port ?
what is the difference between usn normal and usb host?
thanks a lot.....
USB is for when you are plugging in your Archos as a device to your PC, to navigate its storage.
USB Host is for using the Archos like a pc. You can attach memory card readers, keyboards, etc to it.
Thanks a lot !!!!
Hi guys,
the X10 does mount a cdrom and the sdcard when attaching to a USB Host. (official eclair Firmware).
Is there a possibility to remove the cdrom mount and only mount the sdcard?
Could this be possible to remove the cdrom image via a rooted device?
Background:
My car has a USB Host port and doesn't recognize the X10. I think this is because the cdrom is pronounced first on the USB Bus.
Has someone a hint?
Thanks for help.

Connect via usb ang go to usb connection settings. Look for "Install PC Companion" checkbox and unselect it.
If your rooted use titanium backup to uninstall pc companion

Hello,
Scenario: SGS2, KIES-updated HKI4 firmware (2.3.4), rooted
I have an USB OTG adapter I got from DealExtreme that works quite fine. FAT32-formatted pen drives are instantly recognized and properly mounted.
However, if I plug in a ext2 pendrive, Android says it is blank.
The problem, however, is that the ext2 partition is recognized as /dev/block/sda/sda1, so it is not mounted automatically. If I mount it manually, I can access the ext2 partition and use the pendrive as any FAT32 (with all the added benefits of an ext2 partition).
How can I make Android mount an ext2 pen drive automatically? What config files do I have to change?
thanks.
hii bro ... I have HTC wildfire s with android 2.3.5 ...but its not rooted... what do you think will It recognize fat 32 pendrive if I try to do on the go with it ... or do I need to root my phone ... any suggestion would be much appreciated ...
Most 2.3.x devices with USB OTG support will automatically mount FAT32 partitions without the need of rooting.
Actually, in order to mount other filesystems, one doesn't need root either. All that is needed is access to the console (such as Terminal Emulator) and give the proper commands.

for ntfs filesystem, maybe you need tools like paragon ntfs or ntfs mounter.
if you need storage for files files greater than 4go, you could also use ext4 file system which are usable with windows PC.
thanks

So I have a rooted galaxy s2. I have purchased a usb on the go cable and I formated my usb stick to NTFS.
I downloaded a couple of NTFS mounters, usb mount and paragon.
I can mount and access the usb stick (which is 16gb).
The problem I am having is I am trying to download a 6.8gb file but it still says 'file size limit exceeded'.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Anybody?
When your device is rooted, you can use USB Otg Helper
