I reinstalled Visual voicemail but still no icon......I can get voicemail but I dont have a notification icon so if I dont check it after every missed call than I never know when I have one
I have it backed up in titanium backup but I cant figure out how to restore it...Does anyone know how to do this? I backed it up, than I deleted it off of the phone....ut I assume if I have backed it up than I can restore it right?
Anybody ever figure this out? Lost mine too and it gets a bit annoying.
In TI backup goto batch, the look for restore app amd data.
Then just check the box for voice mail
Im not sure if you tried this already
Possible workaround; install google voice (many ROMs include it as a default) and set it to be your default voicemail inbox for your phone.
Google voice allows you to:
- Save voicemails forever
- Automatically transcribes voicemails
- Email alert for voicemail (and link to listen to it) along with the normal alert in the status bar
- Listen to/download voicemails on any internet enabled device
- Visual voicemail
- All normal voicemail features
I've been using Google voice for my voicemail since I made the switch to android, and I love it.
I had this same problem after flashing a new ROM and was able to fix it by going to:
Settings/Call Settings/Voicemail/Voicemail service
In my case, nothing was selected, so I just selected the "My carrier" option and the voicemail notification started working as normal.
Hope this works for someone else..

Brick'd's SMS call log fix in the Dev section got me wondering about the SMS notifications tied to voice mail in the i9000-based 2.2.1 ROM's (or at least in Darky's).
More specifically, any time voice mail gets interacted with (a caller leaves a message, I call in to check voice mail, etc) I receive the following SMS:
//VVM:SYNC:ev+MBU
Installing & uninstalling visual voice mail does not seem to correct the issue.
Anyone know how to remove this feature?
This question has been asked several times in the ROM thread & I haven't seen it answered there yet. I might just be blind, but ...
Thanks!
*Note: I've overlaid the black i9000 theme, so I haven't yet tried pushing AOSP SMS because I would prefer to preserve the theming.
Try this:
1st: try uninstalling and reinstalling the visual voicemail app.
If that doesn't work
2nd: go to mytmobile website and try disabling and reenabling visual voicemail
If that doesn't work:
3rd: Call 611, they will disable and re-enable visual voicemail.
I was just wondering if anyone knows how to re-download existing voicemails to visual voicemail after flashing a rom and re-flashing gapps (visual voicemail)? I restored from backup and got voicemails from 6 months ago that show up, but I can't seem to get it to connect and download the current one's. Any ideas?
I dont know of any way to get them back. Thats why I dont use Sprints Visual Voicemail. I use YouMail. Plus it has a tone of awesome features and no matter how many roms you flash, You will always have your saved voicemails.
I am not getting voicemail notifications. Neither in the status bar nor in T-Mobile's visual voicemail.
I am using the 8/1/12 version of Energy's stock ROM and Faux's v019 kernal. I am using T-Mobile for my voicemail provider and I do not have any custom messaging apps installed.
If I call into voicemail it will tell me when I have a new one waiting. Sometimes when I manually tell visual voicemail to sync it will pull in the new voicemails.
When I go to Settings>Call the "Clear voicemail notification" button will be white when I have a new voicemail, but there will still be no notification in the status bar.
I tried clearing data and uninstalling and re-installing visual voicemail.
I do get text, missed call, and email notifications without a problem.
I have also noticed games like Words with Friends are also not showing notifications in the status bar. Sometimes when I reboot the old notifications for apps and visual voicemail will load, but will not continue to sync.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Any settings I may be overlooking that are causing this behavior?

Thanks PeartFan40.
I was able to get the problem resolve. First I did a fresh flash of the same ROM and then updated to the same kernel. (I had already previously done a factory reset and it hadn't helped.) Then I re-installed just user apps and data through Titanium. The problem persisted.
I then uninstalled visual voicemail and the phone notification popped up letting me know I had a voicemail. I reinstalled visual voicemail and rebooted and again visual voicemail wasn't seeing the voicemail.
Next I tried uninstalling visual voicemail and scramble with friends because both are where I noticed application notifications failing. First I installed visual voicemail. After I rebooted visual voicemail recognized the new message as it should. Then I installed scramble with friends and it's notifications started to work.
I don't know how phone notifications such as missed calls and texts are different than application notifications, but in the end it appeared to be an application notification error.
After poking around through other posts and websites it seems that scramble with friends may have been what was creating the issue. I don't think it liked being restored from Titanium backup instead of being installed from the app store.
Either way my problem is now fixed. If anyone has any idea as to what may have caused the issue based on this new information, I would still be interested in hearing the answer. Thank you.
So with the recent update of Google Voice I accidentally integrated my number. I like my voice mails handheld by Google Voice, but I don't want my text messages going through it.
I had it set up this way before the update. I hit the wrong option after the recent update and accidentally did the full integration or whatever.
I'm on the d3rp senseless ROM and don't have an option to activate the device.
Does anyone know how I can undo that full integration and just set Google Voice to handle the voicemail?
I found it easiest way to get it done is goin to the website on a computer and there's an option to undo intergeration. Than re doing the voicemail settingon the phone without the mistake.

As rose2jam said, log into Google Voice via your PC and you will be able to disable and restore it back to default settings.
I just upgraded from my Samsung Captivate which was running CM10 to the HTC One. One of the things I loved about the old phone was that all my voicemails would show up in my call log and I could play them from there. When I tried setting up GV on the new phone, I got a bunch of error messages and somehow the phone removed my old call forwarding rules and then couldn't reapply them. So I logged out of the Google Voice app and tried again. No dice. Finally, I went back and did it the old fashioned way by manually typing in the MMI code and managed to get the calls forwarded again to GV. When I went to the dialer app to manually switch the voicemail provider to GV, I again get the error messages and when it asks to still switch to the new provider I click OK. However, it kicks out another error message and then shows that nothing has changed and still lists AT&T as the default voicemail provider. So, has anyone managed to get this working properly or have AT&T and HTC once again colluded to completely bork functionality that works oh so well on stock Android?
Just got a response to my support request from HTC. Laughably, they claim they "cannot guarantee full functionality with Play Store applications." That is pretty pathetic. In their quest to differentiate, they eliminated one of the best features of Android in my mind. I hated dialing numbers and using the dialpad to access and control voicemail years ago. When Google made Google Voice available on Android, it was one of the factors that made me choose it over the iPhone. Then they made it even better than visual VM on iOS by integrating it into the dialer. This dialer from HTC is a huge step in the wrong direction. I don't need all this FB and Twitter integration crap. Just let me access my VM in the best possible way.
I have it working but I never got it to work using the Google voice app configuration.
It was still working when I swapped my son card to the HTC one from my gs3.
I had to go into the phone app and change the forwarding numbers manually. Also the voice mail number.
If that doesn't work I think you can contact at&t and they can fix it for you.
Wait...you have your Google voice voicemails showing up in the dialer app so that you can click play and listen to them without going into the GV app? I did manage to get the forwarding set up, but I want the voicemails to show in the dialer like they did on CM10.
Not working on Sprint and HTC One either

Same issue, voicemail set up, but I can not get the call log to show voicemails. Tried unchecking voicemail display as indicated in other forums, but doesn't work either way.
Bump...no dialer integration or notifications is a big problem for me as well.
Instead of making a new thread I will just bump this one. Did anyone managed to get they HTC One to integrate Google Voice visual voicemail into the dialer? I searched everywhere but couldn't find any info on that.
Maybe there are any 3rd party modifications that can fix this issue?
p.s Just to clear things for someone who reads between the lines my GV Voicemail is working fine, what I am trying to figure out is how to integrate it into dialer and get visual voicemail from there.

No luck. I stopped trying. I may give it another go.
Just installed ARHD Google edition Rom and visual google voice voicemail works great in there, but I prefer Sense based Rom so will go back to it. Shame visual voicemail doesn't work on it, seems like HTC broke the compatibility.
If anyone knows a solution that would be great!
