Plain, no icon notification bar? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently I have found the icons on the notification bar to distract from my clean minimalistic look, particularly that clock and and signal icon. I know there is a file to remove the clock but could someone cook up a metamorph or flashable to also remove that signal icon? Maybe incorporate both into there?

Why woukd you want to get rid of the signal? All you would have left is the battery and no way to tell if your location is getting a signal or not.

Could always hide the bar all together. Thats what i ended up doing

Using adw ex allows you to just hide the notification bar and the dock, also you can set it for hide/show with a simple up/down swipe on screen

[Q] Hide Notification bar?

Is there a non launcher specific method of hiding the notification bar?
I was using ADW EX but with Jelette posting that Sony launcher I really like it's set up. I just don't want my notification bar.
I'm interested in this also

I tried looking around for this a while ago but no luck
Bah, I figured as much. There has to be a way if it can be done in ADW and launcher pro.

CM7 lockscreen

Using EE Neutrino ROM right now.
Can you make the wallpaper for the lockscreen to be different from the wallpaper from the homescreen?
How can you change the unlock style? I have this ball I have to drag to the other side right now to unlock the screen. Is there a sliding bar? Or maybe a drag up the entire lockscreen picture type unlocker like Windows Phone 7 does?
All within CyanogenMod settings. Not sure about the lockscreen wallpaper. But you can definitely have the sliding bar. No WM7 lockscreen though, unless you get WidgetLocker.

Exactly what I wanted! Thank you! I didn't know CM7 had lockscreen settings. I guess I always missed it. >_<

Best way to make status bar bye bye?

Howdy
I'm constantly modding my android and had an idea the other day. I think I'd be best to make the status bar disappear or hide it. I have a custom Rom that allows that but I want the option of still being able to swipe down to check it.
What's the best to hide the status bar but still be able to swipe down to check it?
Thanks !

Any thoughts?

Apex launcher can do this.

Try a custom launcher. Nemus launcher lets you hide the bar and reshow it by swiping down.

try GMP from market it allows you to set specific gesture for an action.
You can set a gesture of your choice to hide status bar, and it will work no matter where you are or running on your phone
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Thanks I'll check them out.

Great I use apex but Where? I found the option to hide the status bar but that won't let my swipe down to access it. It gets rid of it completely.

Any of you guys able to provide a link to a no0b friendly guide to modifying framework to hide status bar permanently i.e; within apps not just on home? I'm using kk and most guides seem to be ics and jb.

[THEME] Black Version for NottachTrix4G

Just sharing some work I did to theme NottachTrix 4G v.1.3.1
What I changed (vs. the base NottachTrix):
Changed QuickLauch Toggles (eliminated GPS, Data, & Sync) - I never used them
Changed Status Icons - Alarm Clock, Bluetooth, Signal, Mobile Data Type, Wifi, GPS, Vibrate, Airplane Mode, Signal, Battery (different color for each 1%), USB/SD/Memory, & Download/Upload
Changed Spinners
Changed the Dialer (to Grey)
Changed emoticons to Blue
Changed Power Menu Icons
Changed Default Wallpaper (to Black Ballistic)
Changed Lockscreen Background to Transparent (so your wallpaper will show thru)
Changed Lockscreen Sliders to Semi-Transparent
Removed (visually) the clock and alerts from the portrait lockscreen (I did not like having 2 clocks and all that wordage on the screen)
Removed Shadow behind Launcher Dock
Restored the "No Notifications" on the extended status bar
Changed Landscape Lockscreen to LARGE Digitial clock and visually hid the sliders (good for use in the standard dock)
NottachTrix4G Theme - Black

To install:
1.) boot to recovery
2.) install from zip
3.) reboot
You will need to go into the wallpapers menu and chose "reset to default" in order to see the default wallpaper I put in this.
Good job! I like it!

Colored Siginal,Wifi,and Weather Widgit

Ok first of all credit goes to basil for this. The original zip made by basil will change the status bar, siginal, and wifi and Weather widget time to a nice colorful theme. I just simply modified it to where you can have just the status bar themed or just the weather widget clock themed. Or you can download the original and have both themed like it was originally designed for. Just flash as normal in recovery. You must wipe dalvik cache after the install. I forgot to take a screen shot of how it would look with both the status bar and the clock themed however here is a screen shot of the status bar themed like how i wanted it to be. This is designed to work with 4..2.2. It has been tested on mine and my wifes HTC One both using trick droid 7.5.
EDIT I ALSO ADDED A SCREEN SHOT OF THE THEMED WEATHER WIDGET CLOCK ONLY...
STILL DIDNT TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF BOTH THE STATUS BAR AND WEATHER WIDGET THEMED. USE YOUR IMAGINATION =)
Which zip to download
Colored weather widget only- Well it only themes the weather widget clock
Colored status bar only- only themes the status bar wifi, siginal
colourise clocks and status 4.22- is the original file that will theme both
ENJOY
Nice! Will try.
