make a backup, so you won't lose any files.

I can't get xrecovery to install
I've actually done this before a few times with a generic x10 but this phone is att branded and is on their 2.1 update on baseband .65. I have rooted it with flashtool and installed busybox, but it won't let me install the xrecovery apk because it says that the phone does not allow for outside of market apps, and there is no option in the application setting for it. What should I do????
I've installed, yesterday, the ROM CM7-ZMOD by ziduhu, without making a back up of my old ROM (the 2.3.3 by SE) and I'm wondering if there's a way to go back to it?
Just restore it with SE PC Companion.
Go to Support zone>Phone software update>Repait phone
I've re flashed it with flash tool 0.2.9.1 and ftf 2.3
i tried to install xRecovery but i couldn't for some reason on my phone even though i transferred all the files to system bin and gave all the permissions to all of them... my phone is rooted.
so now i am trying to flash it with the flashtool but i think that i need firmware but i dont know what firmware i need? also the flashtool recognize my phone but it doens't get root access...
please help me!
To avoid problems, restore your phone using Sony Ericsson Pc Companion to the latest firmware. Root your phone again. Install rootexplorer and allow there r/w permissions in /system. Then install xrecovery using xrecovery.apk(google it).
i could not find how to restore my phone using the pc companion. but i did restore it through the phone itself. i am on the latest firmware. after i restored it, it was still rooted... but i installed the xRecovery anyway and then i gave the permissions and it still doesn't work
i just finished downgrading to 4.0.2.a.0.58 from 4.0.2.a.0.62 inorder to root my phone.. how can i update via ota inorder to bring back to 4.0.2.a.62 and remained rooted..
Dont think you can ... I would just flash a custom ROM and be done with it.
device: Xperia Z2 d6503 23.4.a.1.264 stock rom rooted and recovery
what I want: install .570 rom without flashing (cause it wipes everything and I don't want to re install all the apps)
my phone notified me about an ota update (to .570) and when I tried to update, it re booted, started updating and then it failed and the phone re booted to recovery. after that I found out that the recovery or the root could be the problem so I removed them, and tried again to update but it failed (exactly the same as before). I tried to update many times, but it failed every time. then I connected it to pc (thinking that I could update it with pc companion or xperia companion), but it showed the next update, the 23.5.a.1.291 and not the .570, what I wanted.
I also tought about trying to update with supersu pro survival mode (because it can keep root across updates), so someone could confirm that if it works?
Flash a pre rooted zip of 575 you won't loose any apps

You'll only lose the mods that you install or anything you did on your ROM
