[Q] Possible Brick? Axura to Bionix-V. - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to install Bionix-V today, coming from Axura 2.1-2.2. I entered the recovery mode and fooled around there trying to install the ROM.
When I do "install zip from sdcard" and choose "bionix-v-voodoo.zip," the installation gets interrupted saying
"E: Failure at line 13:
copy_dir PACKAGE:data DATA:
Installation Aborted."
Right now I cannot boot Axura, however I can boot to recovery mode.
What should I do?

Odin back to stock sir and you should be good to go...

Okay, I did a restore and was able to boot into my older Auxra ROM.
Now, what do I do exactly in order to install Bionix-V? What's ODIN?

Pretty sure I helped someone with this same issue...it was a bad d/l of bionix. Try to redownload it

its soft brick not possible brick pP and you should rom manager back to whatever you had before and redownload broken zip with new rom and reinstall that rom again .

try installing the ROM from ROM Manager should work and I didn't even disable voodoo before flashing bionix 5 over axura.

Error in recovery... please help!

I was having trouble after i upgraded to 2.2 froyo (from eugene's thread) with axura and blackfroyo skin. after i had trouble, i used odin to go back to 2.2 stock. after i did this, i wiped all user data and chached data and rebooted. now when i try to go to recovery and click on "re-install packages," i get the error of "E:can't open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory) Installation aborted." what should i do and how do i fix this?
I would put my phone in download mode, Odin back to JFD and get a fresh run at it.
oh i got it! downloaded rom manager, flashed clockwork mod, then rebooted into recovery and it fixed it =)

sorry im new axura2.2 i followed the directions from austiclees on youtube oclf-titinium back up-rom manager, loaded rom from rom manager
When you boot the phone into clockwork recovery try to load .zip from sd and select Axura. Try it that way and get back to us.
im actually having a similar problem. Ive tried installing clockwork a few times now.
install rom manage from market
install clockwork
reboot to recovery
backup.
im trying the backup a second time now. i notice i have less space on my internal sd, so im assuming the first backup went fine, but when i reboot im still going to the samsung recovery and not clockwork.
i just uninstalled rom manager and im trying the process all over again.
am i doing something wrong?

Not sure what happened - update.zip missing

So I flashed the latest bionix rom, and then a voodoo compatable kernel, and my phone started getting really screwy. I ODIN'd to stock, but I can't install packages or anything, or flash a new rom because my update.zip file was deleted.
What can I do? I've never had any issues with flashing on this phone, so I'm not good with troubleshooting.

Did you ODIN to JFD?
Just download the update.zip (its in my noob guide) and flash it from stock recovery
then flash CWR
You've made this very easy. Thank you.
I'm trying to flash the rom with CWM, but it wont reboot into recovery. When i hit "ok" to reboot, it just freezes up for a minute and then lets me select my rom again. I tried re-installing CWM but it still isn't working
Can you help explain where in the process you are?
I did what you said in the first place, and i was able to reinstall packages in stock recovery.
Now, I'm trying to flas a rom with rom manager, and it wont reboot into clockworkmod recovery.
Rom Manager > install rom from SD card > i select the rom, click okay to reboot.
Once i click okay, the screen freezes there for a moment, and the i see the screen where i select which rom i want to install. It never goes to reboot.

keeps rebooting help trigger 3.3 rom

I'm running kb5 rom and modem. I'm rooted, rom manager clockworked, installed the install.bat so I can get past the verification error for install packages in recovery, I have everything working right (my problem is getting into clockwork recovery... Every time I install packages It will load the packages and then just reboot my phone....) I can't get into clockwork to install trigger 3.3 rom
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong I have tried everything from flashing back to 2.1 jdf rooting, install packages, clockwork, installed trigger 3.3 and it flashes the rom and just keeps rebooting into recovery over and over that's the closest I have gotten. That's why I'm currently trying to flash this trigger 3.3 rom on 2.2 froyo but cannot get into clockwork now....
I'm ready to go do a keg stand!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Jfd via odin
Root with update.zip
Reinstall
ROM manager, flash cwr, reinstall packages twice.
Reboot
Move trigger to internal after verifying md5
Wipe
Flash
Reboot
Wait
Enjoy
What 2.2 rom are u flashing trigger3.3 over? I believe trigger3.3 is a no wipe update specifically for trigger. Can't be flashed by itself or over any other rom.

[Q] Clockworkmod install problems

Trying to install clockworkmod but I have 3e recovery. I did it through rom manager which was a nub mistake but I didn't know 3e was going to troll me. So it says:
e:failed to verify whole file signature
e:signature verification failed samsung "3e"
I then followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16909269&postcount=12
and tried the Speedmod kernel to get rid of 3e like the person said but that rom is for the international version and now I can't connect to verizon.
So at the point I am thinking using Odin is my only option but all roms are .zip and not .tar. I am clueless as what I can do. Please help me.
So I tried the Odin method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026746 and flashed the pit and stock 2.1 files. It passed with green in odin but when I put the battery back in it boots into 2e but says # Manual Mode # at the bottom. I am not sure if that means the flash didn't actually work or what. I am lost now.
Thought I'd update this thread since I finally fixed the problem and sucessfully put Cyanogenmod7 without using the stupid Rom Manager after about 8 hours of work. So just in case someone wants to know what I did. For some reason Odin was not working so I used Heimdall v1.83 and the EB01 Heimdall package and sucessfully flashed to froyo 2.2. I mounted the sdcard and put Cyanogenmod7 and gapps on it.
Now I used Odin to flash the CM7 capable CWM (I think its version 4). Booted the phone into download mode and then used jt1134's ClockworkMod Recovery found in the CM7 fascinate wiki. The wiki says use Heimdall but I used Odin and it worked. The CWM is now blue instead of Red. Next I did a wipe data/factory reset along with wipe cache partition. I selected install zip from scard and choose the CM 7.1 package. Everything went well and it boots into CM7. NOW TO INSTALL THE GAPPS. I thought I just boot into CMW using the volume buttons and power button BUT NO that is NOT correct. In CM7 you have to hold the power button and press reboot and then select recovery AND THEN IN THAT CWM select install zip from sdcard (choose gapps). THIS IS IMPORTANT OR ELSE GAPPS WONT INSTALL. I was bummed for like another hour.
So there it is how to install CM7 just when you think you have been to hell and back with the fascinate. Never again am I volunteering myself to help root and install CM7 on a friend's fascinate. The droid incredible was soo easy!
