3) Reboot your Archos holding "Volume -"
4) Recovery System -> Developer Edition Menu -> Flash Kernel and Initramfs
there is no develoepr menu
Have you installed the SDE firmware? I don't think so
You need to download SDE Firmware first, from Archos downlad section.
Then you need to "Update firmware" holding vol-
Only with SDE fw installed you will be able to flash custom Kernel and Initramfs.
Read well Archos disclaimer...

Usually this behaviour is due to pressing both Vol+Vol- athe same time with power button.
If you only press vol+ and power button you should be able to access developer menu...
Please check.

sure you're in the right forum if you have a home hard key ??
key combo for vibrants is vol up and down and power or vol up and power with GB bootloaders
doing it with kies it automatically goes to download mode
and it doesnt matter if rooted or not
The button combination can be tricky to get into either download mode or recovery, just keep trying it eventually it should werk. You should probably look into purchasing a jig. Good luck!

No problem sir...
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
if all the above fail and are familiar using adb you can just adb reboot download .that will throw you into download mode. just a future reference.
I have a stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 installed on my xperia P handset. I wanted to install the custom rom CM 11 on my xperia. So I first rooted my handset using Doomlord Easy rooting toolkit. Then I copy pasted the custom Roms zip file in the internal storage. Then in order to install the custom rom I need to boot into the recovery mode of xperia P.
So I first tried using Quick Boot but it goes on rebooting to the regular jelly bean OS and doesn't enter the recovery mode.
Could anyone guide me which step I actually missed for installing the custom rom. If a perfect guide is provided I would be very grateful.
press power button + vol up button for 5 seconds... it will vibrate 1 time.. it will reboot.now keep pressing vol down key or power button ((because in some kernel key is different.)) key until it displays a menu in blue fonts.it's clockworkmod recovery.:good:

I tried doing the steps as guided by you. On pressing the volume up key and the power button it vibrates 1 time then I kept on pressing the power button. So then the phone booted in safe mode again and again and then when I stopped pressing the power button the phone booted normally again in Jelly Bean. Is there any problem with unlocking the bootloader. I have received a key for unlocking the bootloader on my GMail account when I requested it on the sony's website.
did u tried with volume down key to enter recovery..? u said that u wanna install cyanogenmod ..so u need a custom kernel which can be found in same zip file of rom named 'boot.img'.& & a custom kernel needs unlocked bootloader. if u have to unlock your bootloader ..u have to search ..it's very easy and can be found on this forum, too(( if not pm me i'll send detailed steps.)).& yes,u are gonna need that key which you received to unlock bootloader .
u can always use ( fast boot ) to flash cm11
it`s better and best ......
any ways u could inter recovery mood by pressing volm+ 2 time`s after the phone vibration ....when sony log show...
its always work
If you installed CMW, to enter it I push about 10 or 15 times, while the phone is turning on, until it loads the cmw

If u wanna help at least write it the right way...
For CWM, turn on phone, when it first shows the Sony logo start pressing various times (Volume - ) key (don't push one time and keep the finger on the key!!) until it enters cwm recovery.

For me it works only with Volume '+'
In CM11 zip, u have the boot.img... flash it using fastboot (doesn't work on Windows 8 or 8.1), then u'll have the CM11 kernel... turn on the phone and when it is starting, it'll vibrate when showing sony logo, just tap the power button when vibrates and will enter in CWM, then just follow the tutorial in CM11 topic.
so what's the right way to reboot in recovery mode? I've this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-0-t2626639

I got same problem to reboot in CWM mode. Following all recommendations in this thread. Did not work.
However when coming back to one of the Xperia Phone instructions to reboot in CWM, I tried again to follow those instructions given by following links :
Sony Xperia P CyanogenMod 11 Project page Thread on xda-developers https://sites.google.com/site/androdevlinux/xperia-p/xperia-p-roms/cm11-download/
Here are extracts which I strictly followed :
First time flashing CyanogenMod 11.0 your device, or coming from another ROM? You need to be on Unlocked bootloader
Fastboot kernel(boot.img) from the rom zip
Press power button when Device vibrates at boot splash/logo to enter TWRP recovery
Format data and cache
Flash the Zip
Reboot
The "Press power button when Device vibrates at boot splash/logo to enter TWRP recovery" is really the trick to enter CWM mode ....
i installed a custom rom, but due to some reason it hasnt installed properly and not letting me access settings. and moreover i am not able to install CWM recovery as vol - button way is not wrking.
Wht shd I do?? please help

It would help if you said where you got the boot.img
And ignore the sony logo, focus on the led, when it lights up, press vol+ repeatedly (dont know how many times, i just keep doing it until its in recovery lol
If you installed doomkernel v5, try swapping vol+ for vol- or camera button, vol- = twrp (think thats right) and camera = philz
This way is only work for original condition HP 7 voicetab 1321 ra with problem :
- forgotten password or screenlock
- no recovery (show android bot with no command)
- no need to flash
after trying for 3 days work. now problem is solved
1). shutdown device
2) press vol + and power button (until show select boot mode)
3) choose uart mode
4) in green button choose "factory setting"
then OK.
now your device has back to factory setting as one new
to enable Developer Options submenu(USB Debugging) on Android 4.2/Android 4.3/Android 4.4:
Go to Settings menu on your device.
Go to About submenu. In some devices the About submenu will be under “More”/”General” submenu. On some other devices (mostly HTC devices you will have to goto Settings> About> Software Information> More)
Now scroll to “Build Number” and tap it 7 times.
After tapping 7 times you will see an alert saying “You are now a developer”/”Developer mode has been enabled”.
Now if you go to your Settings menu, you will see the developer options submenu over there.
Tap on the Developer options and then turn on USB Debugging.
So I hope I have helped you. Let me know if you have any doubts.
I am getting error as 'Can't connect to camera' please help providing stock rom or firmware for HP 7 Voicetab 1351ra... I have tried the support forum link but that rom didn't work as its updated rom having build ver 1.01.08 something and I need 1.01.06... please help..
try to remove sd card, maybe the problem was on sdcard, I've found same problem on samsung galaxy grand prime.
my voicetab 7 can not enter any mode.
it just keep restarting on and on
any suggestion how to fix this?
i cant access the recovery mood.. its showing no command....my device is also hp7 voice tab.. pls help me..
Power off your tab, then press & hold power and volume up. Select recovery mode, you'll see no command with the dead android guy on it. Now press power and volume up once again. Now you're in the stock recovery menu
But if you are planning to install a custom rom on it there are some problem. First you have to unlock the boot loader, you can do it by installing android sdk on your pc.
The second problem which you're gonna face is there is no custom recovery made for this device. So its lillte tricky process.

PLease Help me! on what to download and what to do. im still new so i cannot understand if someone post link and not posting instruction please help me guys! Please!!!
First, you may want to reboot and just try again.
Press power + volume up at the same time for some seconds, when the phone reboots try to access TWRP again by pressing volume down some times.
Edit: sorry, volume up is philz recovery, you need to press volume down on reboot for TWRP. My mistake, I corrected the post.
