[Q] Has anyone tested touchscreen fix kernel with Optimus T/Ubuntdroid? - Optimus One, P500, V General

I am running an Optimus T on Ubuntdroid RC2 right now. Planning on updating the ROM to the Final today and would like to know the following:
1) Has anyone tested the touchscreen fix kernel on RC2?
1a) If not would it be useful for me to test and provide results on RC2 prior to upgrading to Ubuntdroid Final?
2) Anyone test the same fix on Ubuntdroid Final?
Here is the fix post that I am referring to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929941
Thanks,
_m

the fixed kernel works with all rom because is packaged with koush anykernel script
I tested the fix with some rom and it has worked with all
excuse me for my bad english

Thanks. I was not entirely sure about how kernel patches affect ROMs. Did it this morning and noticed quite a difference!

to see the very difference use neocore an run it with a finger on display during all the test before the touchscreen fix it scores about 20-22 and now it scores about 33!

Overclocking any rom

Hi guys, I am stil pretty new to android after my iphone 3gs broke and I decided to move away from apple. Ive got the hang of updating roms, currently im using
Firmaware: vanillaeclair 2.0.3.
Baseband: 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.08.29
Kernel: 2.6.29-877eaf14 [email protected] #568
mod and build number are vanillaeclair 2.0.3.
Ive stuck with this rom becuz it is extremely stable on my phone with very few issues that I dont really care about or use.
The only thing I would want to do to this rom is overclock it to make it faster, at the most 710 mhz. But I dont know how or if you can...becuz wenever I change it in overclock widget it goes back to 528. So could sum1 pls explain how I can overclock it on this specific rom, becuz I really like this rom.
Thanks a lot
You have to use a kernel which supports overclocking. Behnaam has provided working 2.6.29 kernel sources for 2.1 ROMs which can overclock, and if nobody's created an update.zip for your ROM you can repackage one yourself; instructions should be in the kernel development thread.
Alternately, you could just update your ROM. The latest VE overclocks by default, as well as most recent ROMs.
Thanks
Thanks a lot...can u please lead me to the kernel threads since I am very confused, but I did try looking for it, im not the lazy ones, I learnt all I did through research, and friends.
this is the thread about benhaam's overclocked kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=685489
Hi krandhawa!
For overclocking and much more speed, please upgrade to VanillaEclair 3.3 RC2. It is much more stable and much more faster.
Enjoy!

Hey Radug, I like 2.0.3 for me it has way fewer fc, and everything I need to have work, just works, but I just want a 710 or 695 kernel for this rom. I find that rom extremely good, I tried some of the new ones but theyre pretty buggy for me, just to let u know, u should put the Nexus live wallpaper in your newer roms, becuz theyre missing in these ones, n nexus mod doesnt work with them. I cant donate since I dun have a credit card but I always test your roms, if u ever need any testers im glad to help.
I tried 3.3 rc2 but I had a few bugs here n there that werent on 2.0.3. I found 2.0.3 the least buggy. But heck ill give 3.3 rc3 a try too.

[Q] cyanogen mod used in 2.2 roms

Hello everyone
I have a question, as I noticed recently, that one of the nightly releases of CM 6.0 finally has the camera working.
But 2.2 roms that are to be found in the dev section have camera working for quite some time now. I'm confused, as I heard that froyd villain provided their work for CM.
So my question is - in 2.2 roms, is camera working by using 2.1 drivers or something ?
Just curious, that's all
cheers

Hi,
I can clarify this for you. FroydVillain and Cyanogenmod share fixes in both directions. Cyanogen fixed camera, and gave details of the fix to other devs (IIRC it involves specific files for each device). The fix involved 2.1 drivers, though the specifics evade me, but essentially yes.
FroydVillain was one of the first ROMs to include Cyanogen's camera fix as an update was being released anyway about that time.
But equally if someone fixes something in Froyd, they send it to Cyanogenmod to get fixed for other devices too (like how Revoked fixed the proxy implementation for CM6 for Froyd and sent fix upstream)
Hope that explains it. I don't know what the nightlies are built off, but the sharing means info moves about sometimes faster than via nightlies...

Kernel and such?

Hello everyone!
I have a simple question that I would like to have answered. I'm adept at running custom ROMS on my GTAB, but I've never really messed with kernel stuff before.
There isn't exactly a 'topic' that deals with this, and pershoots website doesn't have that much detail either.
So I would like to know what kernel would be the best for me to run.
I've got VEGAn-Tab GingerEdition running and I just installed pershoots 2.6.32.39-cyanogenmod and it should be the ginger edition
Is this the right kernel or should I be running another?
Thanks
There are basically two kernels that are being actively supported on XDA, pershoot's and clemsyn's (clemsyn has several kernels out, but they're all just slight variations on the same kernel). If you want to overclock above 1.4GHz and/or adjust the voltage settings, then you should try clemsyn's. If not, then stick with pershoot's. It's what I use. It's what most of the devs on here include with their ROMs. For me, it seems to run better with less work. But try them both out for yourself and see what you like better. That's the only way you can really know if you're running the "right" kernel.
Also, pershoot just updated his kernel to 3.6.32.40, if you want the latest version.
Froyo use clemsyn. Gb use pershoot. Jmho...
Hey Thanks! This stuff gets quite confusing.
Another question here. I have installed Roms but how do we install a Kernel? Do we install prior to the Rom?
Thanks in advance
I've tested out every version.
1- froyo -->clemsy
2- ginger --> pershoot
3- flash kernel as you would with any other zip file. Do not use calk wipe all zip.

[Q] Bezke_XXKP8_UltraICS_1.1 - Gyroscope not working?

I just flash this new rom and my gyroscope is not working!
some1 else have this problam?! maybe some1 have solution?!
THANKS!
The ICS leaks are very buggy and of alpha quality, don't expect them to work perfectly.
ok, Thanks mate
Not sure about this one because the OP doesn't mention Known Bugs. I would recommend flashing CM9, known bugs can be found here:

[BUG] Proximity issue CM7/9 Kernel

Hallo, i know this is a bit spam but can anyone fix this issue at CM7 kernel? It makes for me almost unusedable all newest rom (i have to run stock-based kernel). This issue have since that time when P500 comes official CM7 part.
Thanks alot if anyone can fix it!

CM7 is unusable for me too (see video). Nothing has changed since cm_p500_full-6.zip.
