Downgrade optimus v to 2.2?? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Just picked up the optimus v and it shipped out with 2.2.1. Can anyone post detailed inductions on how to get it downgraded to 2.2 so this thing can get rooted? I have researched for 2 days now with no luck. Much appreciation in advance!

Flash your phone with kdz and a differente firmware.

There's good news, a downgrade to 2.2 from 2.2.1 isn't really necessary for rooting. I followed the instructions over on the android central forums in their Optimus V section. Just follow the directions and you'll be rooted in no time.

Optimus V=Optimus One?
And @blaqbird: Are you sure there won't be any problems?

Optimus V is different. It doesn't have the same hardware as Optimus One.

Yep I'm sure. I followed the directions exactly using the tools they recommended you get and got my phone rooted in minutes. I'm already running Titanium Backup, Superuser and AutoKiller, all of which require rooting.

Worked! But rom manager won't now Any luck anyone?

No. Who cares. That firmware looks like old news. Definitely older than JK2 / JK6 and JL1.
That doesn't make any sense. Froyo, but JJ?

thanks also i dont want this to be seen as mean but i find the search here useless i will search for a term say "battery" and say search by topic name and i will get pretty much every thread on the site almost none of which have the word i was looking for in the topic title
this might help too..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828163
When searching try using a few words like "switching rom", I usually find it ok.. but occasionally takes me a few attempt to pick out the right keywords!

or will this work?
Nah old fashioned root method is safer and guaranteed to work... i wouldn't try that way. An old man in ancient times (1990's) once said "That which is on youtube is not always true" and it remains true to this day
Search google or xda forums, they are specifically for the atrix. I unlocked and rooted my atrix by sbf flashing into a controlled softbrick, entering fastboot to unlock and then reboot. Ding fries are done! Make sure you read the instructions all the way through before attempting any install.

I find the root method on BriefMobile to be most effective. A little more work vs one click but you learn something doing the old fashion way.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I can confirm that this one-click method does in fact work on Motorola Atrix running OTA 4.9.1 GB. Here is a direct link to the TalkAndroid article.
If you'd prefer to run the commands individually, feel free to open the batch file and run each one.

[Q] Can't restore back from leaked Ics

I recently rooted my phone and upgraded to leaked official ics. I prefer gingerbread and looking to go back. When using Odin to return me to stock, i get to the initial setup where i touch the android bot and it wont work due to force closing.
Is there anyway I can successfully go back to the 2.3.6? I have searched the threads but can't find anything that actually works. Please help.
Btw. upgrading to ics, I lost root.
All the help i have gotten thus far hasn't worked at all.. does anyone really know how to fix this?

After that go into 3e recovery (3 finger salute) and do factory reset.
Put your flame suit on.

Help rooting 5.0.1

Iv tried to root my my sprint lg g3 running stock 5.0. 1 many times. Using the one click root v1.2 v1.3. They both never root. Each time I have to manually put the phone in download mode. Then the script says found phone. Rooting. And stays there. Is there another method? Any YouTube videos? Iv searched and seems to be the 5.0.1 version is patched to the one click method? Thank you

This is what I'm getting. It will stay on rooting phone. When when I finally unplug it, it will state the rest. It never roots.

Seems like the latest version is 1.3. You may have to wait for newer version or downgrade back to zv4 to use Stump root.
sent from my LG G3
Yeah 1.3 still didn't work. Anyone else having issues with this?
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
Hi guys, I also am having issues rooting 5.0.1 LGL990 I have tried every method for the LG G3 besides Stump root. Every method will get me to 90% or I can get to the Download software screen and then nothing happens. It is very frustrating
EDIT: Hey guys, I found the fix! I just did some searching in the forums and this is the fix for ZVA Lgg3!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...k-root-zva-t3141390/post61496776#post61496776
