As of yesterday I haven't been able to send or receive text messages. Calls work fine though. I've contacted T-mobile and they suggested removing the battery for 2 minutes and rebooting. That didn't work so I upgraded from Axura 2.2.8 to 2.2.9 but no change. I don't believe it's the rom. Anyone else having this problem lately or have a fix?
Did you odin back to stock then try and reflash that maybe your issue

I usually find solutions to my own problems while lurking, but this one is stumping me.
Starting last night at some point I stopped being able to receive both calls and texts. I was quite confused because I was in the middle of a text conversation with someone and they just stopped responding.
Data still works and I can make calls and send texts, but when I send myself a text from another phone nothing happens and calls just go to voicemail.
The phone was on the Eugene 2E JK2 Froyo ROM. I re-flashed it, then flashed it back to stock and nothing helps. When data is off it still doesn't work.
Any ideas? I tried searching but couldn't find anything. My GoogleFu may be lacking
Weird, have you contacted t-mobile support? Many years ago on ATT, with an old school flip phone, I had a similar problem. One night, my phone just suddenly stopped being able to receive or make calls. It could only text. The only solution was to get a replacement--it was not software related.
I've got a new phone on the way because I've been experiencing a similar thing, off and on for the last few days. I called T-mo and went through all the troubleshooting but they can't find any reason for the phone to be behaving this way...gonna send me a new one as warranty replacement.
I've never heard of SMS being a hardware issue, but hear me out.
I received a replacement phone from Verizon and kept it stock for about two weeks. Every now and then people would tell me they got duplicate texts from me so I switched from Handcent to the stock Messages app. I had the same problem even after uninstalling Handcent plus I noticed about half my messages fail. So finally I've had enough, rooted, installed BAMF (1.8 the Froyo radio one). It did the same thing - even before restoring any apps. I even tried Plain Jane v2 and some other basic debloat ROM. All had the same issues...
Any ideas on how to fix this? I did a full wipe between all roms. I also tried deleting all messages and clearing data and cache from the Messages application.
I'm thinking I should just unroot and send it to Verizon for a replacement.
Have you tried other MR1 radios besides the stock radio?

Since last Friday I can not receive TXT msgs properly. I was using Chomp SMS and read all the threads that I could find and could not find anything about it.
Pulled battery, rebooted, cleared cache, installed 2 different SMS programs... received 2 TXT messages and then... nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Know of any threads that I have missed?

Did your phone get Unprogrammed? You may need to call in and activate it again. I had that happen to me once when I was flashing roms.
I can still make calls... I can send txt... Could it still be deactivated?
No if you can make calls you are fine. Could be an outage in your area I have had that happen before.

What Leak is SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 based off of. If it is a GB leak prior to 605.5 there is a known issue.
Some phones will receive some but not all SMS messages. The GB 605.5 leak seems to have corrected the issue.
If SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 is based off an older leak and you love it, extract the message.apk from 605.5 leak and install it on your phone
I was having this problem on a bunch of ROMS until they were updated
The 1.6 is based off the 605.3 so maybe that is what is causing it.. I have tried everything else listed... The Dev is said to update the ROM to the newest 605.5 soon... so I hope that will fix it. If I knew how to extract the message.apk from the new one I would do that too... but sadly I am not that far advanced yet.

So today my phone stopped getting text messages. I can send them okay as verified by some friends, but nothing comes back my way. Now yes I have considered that perhaps nobody wants to talk to me :sad: but I cannot even receive messages that I have sent to myself.
I had a similar issue back in the day with my Motorola Milestone, but the solution to the problem at that time (data wipe) did not do the trick this time around. So I again wiped data/caches, I reflashed 3 different modems (KP8, KH3, KI3), flashed three kernels (NEAK, latest Siyah, and Abyss 3.0). I also reflashed my ROM (GingerMOD).
Currently I have come to stay on stock GingerMOD (KI3, Abyss 3.0)
I am on the bell network in Canada. Thanks for any help... I kinda live off text messages, being 17 :S

It seems today my phone quit receiving all text messages. I'm on Skyraider 1.3 and the .09 Radio. In the middle of the day I starting having people tell me they sent me messages and I never got them. I since reflashed my ROM with no wipe and updated to a new radio. Neither helped. any thoughts?
