Just wondering if its possible to run win phone on the optimus t/one
sent from my LG Optimus T running MegatronV1 using XDA app
technically it can be done, it depends how much time you one has to invest in cracking wp7. I see no reason in running wp7 on an Android phone, besides bragging rights.
There is no easy way of installing wp7 on phones designed for something else for now...
looking at WP7 hardware requirements, and our phone, it just won't do..
why would you want WP when you have Android.
android is a heaven man, why you want to run WP on it?

I've just been watching loads of YouTube videos about people trying to install android on iPhones. My question is why?? Android is open source and iOS is closed source. Android users don't see developers porting iOS to android devices do we? Because its pointless and its never going to work. If they want android....buy an android device....simples

Android was designed so that it could be installed on any device. It's up to the developers to fix the drivers to work. Practical? No. Do it because we can? Hell yea!
Edit: for Yall that didn't know.. we got android on microwaves and washing machines now. Seriously. Look it up.

I just don't get it because nothing works on the iPhone version. So then its pretty much pointless. That's like me having iOS on my i9000 but nothing working within lol waste of space and pointless in my opinion

And last but not least:
- because they can
Or to say it completely freely:
- for the lulz
There doesn't need to be a deeper meaning behind such endeavors. They're geeks. Let them be geeks. Different people do all sorts of different stuff, these people port their favorite OS to every device they can get their hands on.

Hello,
Okay, so I know that people always ask, "why the h*** would you want windows phone 7 on an android phone?" But, I really like the simple UI, and I like the way the apps look and things like that, so with that said I have 2 questions:
1. Does a "WP7 rom" exist (like in the WP7 forums).
2. If so, is it remotely possible to even attempt to run it on an android phone?
I am just asking because the way I see it if WP7 can run on an HTC device, why could it not run on an ANDROID HTC device, with the rerouting of some software and things like that. I have a MyTouch 3G Slide (I know pretty old school) but I have already gotten it to do things that they said would not even be in the dreams of a MT3GS user! I am a novice software dev, but I am completely down to learn, 100% with no objections!
Thanks you guys,
Ognimnella

As far as i know, the only non-WP7 phone that can run WP7 is the aging HTC HD2. But i really don't know how far the development has come, so we may see some Android devices run WP7 in the future. Who knows! (Not me)
The wp7 rom is not open sourced so no devs try porting

So wait how have people been able to create WP7 like apps (Launcher7, Seven Calc, Photo Safari, WP7Contacts, etc.)
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
They rewrote the programs, these ports don't share source with the original wp7 versions. That's why the Android version of these programs work a bit different.

taken from the Nokia liveblog, their Lumia 610 will feature the same chip as ours*.
Could it be possible to port it?
*It's the 800MHz version but as we know from android it's compatible...
That would be cool

Don't you have enough on your hands than to add on to your burden of maintaining CM 7.2??
Just kidding.....
By all means, try doing it.... You have my best wishes.
really i don't think so bcoz it have Qualcomm 7x27A chips but it depend on mother board too.....
I know it'll be unlikely unless LG release a 7x27a windows phone too, its usually much easier to port from the same manufacturer!
But I can dream, I use launcher7 as my daily launcher...

Although it is likely than possible isn't one developer in the process of bringing to lg forums,a windows based rom. If I'm not mistaken I believe its based on cm9, cfjames ? Maybe that's wrong ? I'm not for or against anything new and it all sounds like a good idea but windows sucks anyhow....I'd still try the rom out, always down for testing bit as of right now my stock rom is blackbird v1.2-beta1 with LG home 2.3.4

It wont be impossible as long as its compatible armv6...
We have had a port of Optimus Net which was MSM7227T...
But for it, we need to work as a team... cuz we will need WP7 compatible bootloader... ryt now we can only boot android...
Also, it will be a pain is the a$$ due to lack of WP compatible system files etc..
Remember, theres no source available n thats gonna be tough...
I love Metro UI too..
I use Launcher 7 too, with WP7 Lock app...

Really, a question: your ROM is windows mobile or a modded android?
If it boots and basic features (touchscreen) work, can I test it?(PM link) I don't care how buggy it is, just wanna test it:d:d:d

Haha its an Android based rom definately! I don't think its posible at the moment to build a rom based off Windows 6.5-7.5 operating systems yet... its not openly sourced like Android.
(I'll compile the rest of my alpha build soon, just figuring out how to get it to boot now with my wifi and data fix ;s)

just curious, I admire the development of the htc HD2 and wondering if our 3dvo can be as legendary as the Leo, recent development looks very promising though

Well what are you looking for? We do have a huge selection of Roms to choose from. But most of our users here want full functionality with 3D and wimax which are proprietary to HTC and not open sourced so it hinders Rom development such as Sense 4 ports and others. Correct me if Im wrong but the HD2 stock comes as winmo right? The fact to get Android on it and full functionality is a accomplishment hard to beat.
Myself I plan on installing Debian or Ubuntu 12 on here just for the fact that you can.

I am just looking for endless awesome development like on Leo since I am not a rich guy who can easily change my old phone

Oh it already can run them. Just need linux installer from play store and get myself set up and launch. Dont really need it but its something new to do and could possibly find good uses for it in doing so. I wouldnt count on endless development here but its still an active device with plenty of devs behind it. Know ill be around for awhile also and I just build my own roms to use.
I think it boils down to whether or not we will still have as many active devs as we do in the future. We have wimax, and I'm sure 3d is soon to follow. That being said, if the framework keeps changing in-between aosp versions(gb>ics) then these will have to be rewritten all over again. And I think that will push people to other phones. I plan on having my 3D for some time, and I'm learning to build my own roms and make modifications that I like, so you never know what will happen. I don't see why this phone can't continue for some time, and I for one would love to see it happen. Who knows...

No and it won't I guess.
At hd2 it has been possible, because it is a wp and the devs could port android, because it is open source.
The other way round is much harder.
And sry but for my opinion wp7 is crap compared to android, even when you compare it to good old gb and I guess most people here share my opinion (no offence in any way, I only want to point out that I don't think any developer is working or will work on it).

I prefer android, best is something depending on opinions and use.
Even when there would be a wp7 port, wp8 is completely different and would need the whole thing ported from scratch.
And like already said, because wp is closed source it will be really hard to get it to work, I would recommend to not expect a working port for the gs3.
