I was having a conversation via ym with my friend that used a blackberry. And he sent me a message that my mini pro cannot recognize the character and showing only squares instead. Anybody knows how to solve that?

try fiddling with Languages. i think it also limits what characters you can see on the phone, aside from what characters you can type.

Hi
Couldn't find any thread that will describe this problem, so start this new one.
I'm having issues with cyrillic texts sending/receiving on Samsung i9100. Typing is ok, but when sent to myself or to any other phone all symbols are shown as question marks ("?").
I'm on official Gingerbird 2.3.3
I thought this issue was resolved in Donut, but it seems it is still there. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Thank you!
Go to messaging settings input mode. Than unicode or automatic.
Than general settings language than input languages or so and click your langs.
I solved the problem this way.

Hello everyone.
So recently the keyboard I used to use, GO Keyboard, added notification adds for porn apps in their latest update. It was a great keyboard; fast, accurate, and had a one-touch switch to go to Japanese text entry.
I am so indignant about their bait-and-switch BS though that I refuse to use any apps by that company any more.
Anybody have suggestions for a replacement keyboard? I tried the trial of smart keyboard but I don't like how it misses letters when typing fast.

Google Japanese Input beta. A little slow sometimes, but its pretty good.

well it does seem pretty good for japanese input, but the english side is a bit underwhelming. Guess Ill end up having to swap between two different keyboards after all.
any suggestions for the english side?

Hey XDA...I was wondering if this type of keyboard already existed, and if it can be downloaded here in the forum.
I've been using MSN Messenger and everytime im writing using full keyboard (180 Grades) i cannot see what the updated message say... theres any keyboard that i can use that has a little gap between letters and messages to see the updated received messages?

i know that thumb keyboard has this option. You just have to disable full screen editing in options.

i have LG P970 Optimus black.
i know this problem is about a lot of devices and a lot of regions.
i want your help to solve this problem.
we are using latin alphabet with some special characters. like "ı, ş, ö, ğ, ç.."
when someone sends me a text message with this characters,
it is normally shown in cm7 and its based roms.
it is normally shown in lg roms which are released for turkey
but it is shown like one space in different lg roms.
for fixing it, what can i do.
is it about message apk? or about some libs?
nobody knows?
Whenever I type this in to Google I get flooded with results and can't really find anything useful.
I am from Denmark, and we have 3 letters in our alfabet that are not in the English. Those characters are 'æ', 'ø' and 'å'.
As you know, when you are in the dialer, and you punch 666, the dialer search will suggest 'mom'. Actually 'mom' was a completely random example and I am just now realizing the ironi in the number.
Now, my question is: The Danish word for 'doctor' is 'læge' - and the 'æ' should be placed on the number one key - it have always been this way with the T9. But the dialer don't get it.
On T9, 'ø' would be on the number 6 key, and 'å' would be on the number one key.
My HTC Wildfire could handle this without any trouble.
Do I need to enable some setting I don't know about to get recognition of Danish special characters, or is this feature simply not available in the stock dialer?
