Got Hulu working with Froyo 0.6.6. No demon voices! Just browsed a lot of the forums on XDA and finally got it working. Can't retrace all my steps, but here is a link that can get you started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779761#8089640.
Run a backup before you try anything.
All the steps are out there.
Another helpful link: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...5-how-watch-hulu-your-android-2-2-device.html
Once the three apks are installed, you can use either use the hulu.apk or watch from the website. If using the website, go to google.com and switch to classic view, and then in the address bar, input about:debug which enables you to change your ua string in your browser settings to desktop. Be sure that you don't have a setting that has flash playing on demand. Also, login to your hulu account and in settings, choose the lowest bitrate of 288. Change this setting in hulu from your desktop computer. I found the stock froyo browser to work best.

Sure does. Just tested.
This is huge! My wife is gonna love this!
Thanks for the find!
Anyone else got it to work? It said it could not open the install_huluflash_player.apk as APK
I moved it to /system/app and toggle the "allow non-market apps" checkbox with no success

I uninstalled flash first and then followed the directions to install each apk in the order prescribed. To install, I copied to the sd card of the nook, allowed non-market apps, and then used file manager to install. Hope this helps. I ended up taking the hulu fix off as it seemed to slow down performance.
couldn't get this to work on nookie froyo 0.6.8, here is what I did
using adb, I installed "install_huluflash_player.apk"
Then I tried to install "flash_fixed_final.apk" and " Hulu.apk" but it would not let me, gave me a failure
I then adb pushed "flash_fixed_final.apk" and "Hulu.apk" into /system/apps
Used Astro to tried to install them. For "flash_fixed_final.apk" it would only let me upgrade. After the upgrade I tried to install "Hulu.apk" but it said it was already installed, so I just launched it and it seems to work
the only problem was the "demon voices" sound
I then tried to fix it using the OP's link by adb push all the libstagefright.****.so to /system/lib/
after pushing all of them, I rebooted the device as suggested
coming back from the reboot, video would not even start in hulu or website
I then tried uninstalling hulu and flash through Setting, Astro, and adb but none of the methods worked
had to download root explorer to delete flash and hulu
Might attempt again with 0.6.6 or some other versions, has anybody else gotten this to work at all?
UPDATE
ok, still on 0.6.8 nookie froyo, this time I tried the files from the OP's first link instead of the second link
after uninstalling everything from my first attempt, I pushed the hulu and flash onto my nook
adb push flash-fixed.apk /system/app/
adb push Hulu.apk /system/app/
Using root explorer, installed flash-fixed, then hulu
Lauching hulu, flash works, but only at the advertisement (loads ads until last 1 second and freezes)
Tried using Dolphin HD and Dolphin Mini after changing the user agent to Desktop, it does the same thing (normal browser would not allow my to do abou:config to change user agent)
Tried with the normal Dolphin browser and some of the videos seems to work, although they are very slow and laggy, even after adjusting video to 288p
I guess it now works some of the time, anybody have any suggestions to improve this? Might try this process again with the files from the OP's second link
"Hulu works" for Droid X
The update to link below is about 2 months after the link in Op post. Works well on my Droid X. Any reason it couldn't work on the NC? Can't test myself until I get my replacement NC...

My life was nice, no more ads in my free version of angry birds etc...BUT
am an hockey fan and i go on a site to view videos report of my team. The problem is when i try to watch thoses vids streaming, normaly theres a 15sec ad vid before the one i wanna see, but cause of that adfree program, i cant see the vid anymore, it is just loading and nothing is happening. Here is a screenshot
For your information, i tryed with my desktop computer and it work fine, i tryed uninstall and reinstall flash and it runs perfect on other sites.
So i wanted to remove the adfree program but it is not showing anywhere in my apps running or installed.

2. try to reload the titanium backup couple of times or check in the superuser whether titanium backup is allowed for root access.

I think you granted temporary root permissions to Titanium Backup, so if you close the app, and open it again, you have to grant root again. You should click on "remember" checkbox.
Another thing you can do, is to open update SuperUser app from the Market, and then, open it, and go to Settings ---> Check binary SU updates, so you have the latest SU binary version.
About the flash thing, i have no idea, but.. have you tried with another Browser?? (Personally, i use Opera. Works like a charm. Really fast & smooth).
Hope i helped,g ood luck bro!

As i stated in post #4, problem is fixed for Titanium backup
My Main Problem is still there though.
Its not a question of using a diff browser, i want to delete/uninstall the adfree app from my tab dot.
The thing is that i cant find it anywhere, i even tryed to open titanium to see if adfree apps is showing so i cant delete data, but its not showing.
So i really need help now because i dont know where to look to find this freaking app and remove it.
Adfree or adblocker or whatever the name is, is not showing :
In app manager (running, installed, all)
In Titanium backup
In file manage HD (well i dont know exactly where to search but havent find anything with a similar name)
plz help
EDIT:
More info
usually when u install an app and u go back to the market, its say "open" instead of "install" well for adfree it still tell me "install"
Now i also searched a bit on the forum and i found some ad blocker program can be use without installing anything but by replacing an Host files.
I dont remember if it was my case, maybe since it doesnt seem that a have any adfree app installed BUT
I usually keep a copy of everything i put on my tab, and been around computer world for long enough to do a "backup" of any file i would replace.
I've looked on my pc, no sign of any host files that i dl or backuped.
So im totally out of anwsers.
One thing for sure, i did install something to removes ads and it work.
For the love of god, please help me !!

i want to get back to default (ads allowed)
where to go ?
What you have to do is manually edit/replace the host file with a stock one.
Go to /system/etc/ and remove all the entries from the file named 'hosts' except the following one
127.0.0.1 localhost
OR
flash this zip in CWM

Just a wild guess, but what browser are you using? Is it possible you installed the adblocker not as an app, but as a browser add-on extension? If so, you should be able to remove it from within the browser or make an exception rule for that one site.

I changed the hosts file following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509997
the hosts file i changed is the one located in /system/etc/hosts
the problem is that i didnt backup this file before replacing it, i never do that but it seem this time i did it.
So im looking for either the original host file or a way to put an exception for the site i want.

I was able to install astro file manager via apk. I had to allow outside sites. I usd the package manager when prompted and open after install. I was able to see the system files but i tried to copy them to my sd card with no luck. Not sure if this helps anyone I m not a developer just fooling around at Mc donalds playing with my new nook tablet. Maybe this info is already out their if so im sorry.
How about trying to install a launcher like Go Launcher? The Kindle Fire people have some type of success with Go Launcher.
Have you tried rebooting after installing to see if icons appear?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
no but I will.
you'll need a launcher to be able to see your apps. The nook hasn't shown the BN installed apps and the user installed apps in the same place since 1.1.
Very interesting if Zeam or Go are installable. My memory is that the old BN app installer would not install non-BN apps.
I tried a reboot no luck. I Also tried to install the apps from the download location after reboot. I get a problem parsing the file. This could be because temporary internet cache is cleared after reboot not sure.
I have Go running right now on mine and it rebooted into it automatically. If I home button, it goes back to the Nook default UI and I haven't found a way to get back to Go yet.
same her go is running and my other installed apk's are showing up in the app menu

I just found that double tapping the N button in Angry Birds will let you chose which launcher to use.
Now I can use ADW on this thing.
Is Kindle Reader app installable? That would make it worth it. Also are the apps all being installed in the 1gb or can they be installed in the BN partition?
Un-rooted, microSD card, GoLauncher Ex, ES File Explorer, App Manager, AnyCut, Button Savior, Dolphin and probably anything else you wonderful people told me I needed to get for it.
There is an app called Ballero (it is in Android Market) this app is to sync up with a knitting and crocheting forum so it doesn't have a lot of people even knowing about it. I have gotten it from this site http://rav.cldellow.com/. Using stock browser. When I try to install I get told that the install has failed. (This has also happened with GoogleServicesFramework.apk, google-earth.apk, Google_Maps_v6.02.apk which I understood should be able to go on an un-rooted NT.) So with the Ballero I have tried to install, copy/paste the apk to systems/apps, unzip it into a folder called ballero and tried to copy/paste that into the systems/apps folder. I'm told that it cannot be done.
So am I missing something? Does this mean that those apps are not for this version? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ballero doesn't show up in Market, so it's not listed as compatible wth the NT. However, I had no problem side-loading it from your link with the stock browser.
I'm pretty sure it requires the Google apps/services be installed as it links to Google Maps to retrieve yarn store data. I don't know about sideloading Google Services Framework, but I think you need this and Google Maps before you can install Ballero.
Maybe you're hesitant, but you really should just root the device. It makes things much more functional. If you follow Indirect's instructions closely (don't worry about the manual method, just use the script) on a PC that hasn't had any Android device drivers on it before, it's very easy and painless. Not that you should need to, but root can easily be undone and the NT restored to factory specs.
The root script should also have the option to install the Google apps and Market for you, which in turn opens a lot of functionality on the NT. (I have no knowledge of sideloading these because the root script did it for me).
I'm pretty sure you can't copy/paste anything to system/app without root permissions.

well did you mount the system folder as read and write? the system folder is read only by default, so you need to go into your es file explorer settings to change the permission from read only to read and write.

Do not use the built-in file explorer. It was designed to prevent people from sideloading applications. Check out "ES File Explorer".
I rooted my nook tablet with the SnowballMod root and everything is working fine, but some of the apps in the android market are missing. I have tried editing the build.prop file and clearing the market data and cache to spoof the market, but it still wont work. does anybody have ANY ideas?
theres not some, more like a lot and thats normal cuz its happening to everyone. apps that dont appear on the market have to be downloaded as .apk files and then transferred to your nooks sd card i use drop box and es file explorer for this procedure

It's not technically broken. The market should not show you apps for which your device does not meet the requirements. That doesn't meet they don't work, but that you have to install them another way. After updating my phone to ICS, I had to sideload Tapatalk, since it is not "technically" compatible with ICS, even though it does work.
