i am having a problem with Social phonebook on X10i
suppose a persons name is Jack Daniel on facebook....and i put his name as Jacky in my contacts manually prior to getting social phonebook feature..
now after merging..it shows the name as Jack Daniel i.e the facebook name.
how after merging should i get the phonebook to display the nickname i.e jacky?

I use it on my HTC HD2 since 1.30 and it works. It shows the whole information from the publik phonebook (Austria).

does it look up facebook on the fly and then display the picture and ID or does it store it to the contact itself?
It looks up the facebook information on the fly so you will always have the most recent information. However the profile picture will only be downloaded if it is changed since the last time it was downloaded to keep up speed and keep back data traffic!
is Canada no longer supported? It says canada on the website still but your list doesn't include it.
Also, does this program conflict with the HTC incoming call screen?
Hey, facebook is syncing contact's numbers with the prefix '44' instead of '+44' or just using a leading zero. I can't phone or ring the '44' numbers and I when I make an alternative number it won't let me make it the default (well I have not figured out how to).
Is there a fix for this? I can't tell my friends to change it as facebook automatically changes it to 44. All I would need is my phone to know to add a '+' to all facebook numbers and it would be ok.
i am running 2.3.3 pre-rooted gb rom. i have noticed that some of my contacts show incoming and outgoing call picture while others dont show at all. i tried all means but still it doesnt show when i dial. but when i open the contact for editing the contact pic i assigned is there. Any idea what is happening??? also the quality is still bad, i miss the quality of pic in 1.6 version.

I realize that adding photos at contacts was better at the old SE Android contact app.
Adding photos with "mediascape" at the old contact app was better... the "mediascape" always cropped the photo on a wide aspect, fitting OK on the contact page.
Now, it's always a square aspect that don't fit right on the contact page. Something wierd! And when you get an incoming call, the photo resolution is ****ty and zoomed. Too bad!
The contact photo not showing on outcoming and incoming calls, but when you open the contact it has a photo is due to the facebook integration. In EDIT mode, when you have a contact with a picture at the FB profile and no photo on contact app, if you press the picture and choose "set as contact picture", this will happen.

Ok, here is my problem. My conutry code is 505, I have my contact list, if I received an sms it will show the number not the name in my contact, so I discover that is when a Contact write to me some time (think is a network related stuff) it adds an +505 to the number I have in contact, so my phone does not link that sms to my contact. And If I tried to fix adding the +505 to the contact number it now shows the name in sms, but when they called me....it shows just the number...its a little confusing. Is there a way to fix that?

I have huge problem that I can't deal with. I've just changed phone from SGSI 2.3.6 to SGS III 4.1.2
Phone : SGS III
Soft : Stock 4.1.2
I have synchronised my contact list with google, everything went great, i had my contacts with phones and EMAIL ADRESSES in contact list. But of course i've dealt with it by checking "Only contact with phones." Yay!
Okey. And now when im trying to SEARCH for specific contact (for example when writing sms) it shows all contacts, also SIM contacts and EMAIL contacts... What the hell ?
"Only contact with phones" worked very well @ 2.3.6 because it wasn't showing email adresses and sim card contacts during search!
Is there any way to customise search results ? I don't want to see SIM contacts and contacts without phone numbers when searching...
So - AM I RETARDED and i can't find this option, or they've changed something and now i will have to scroll thru 263464325623897583248239 email adresses every time i will have to choose sms recipient.. ?
