I have a X10i, and I want to try [ROM-2.1]Honeycomb 3.0 Look but it based on X10a firmware 2.1.A.0.435.
Can I flash 2.1.A.0.435 to my X10i (it's running FW 2.0.2.A.0.24) then flash [ROM-2.1]Honeycomb 3.0 Look with xRecovery?
I did, and everything's working just fine.
It's not based on X10a. It just requires you to have the latest (2.1.A.0.435) kernel and baseband for either your X10i or X10a.
So just find the X10i 2.1.A.0.435 for flashtool and flash it, then install the custom firmware after you've done so.
Moved to Q&A as not android development
Yes, you can.

Hello, i rooted my phone, installed xrecovery, so now how to flash that Froyo 2.2 on my xperia x10i using xrecovery or how is going steps? i don't understand .. Someone who wants to help me Thanks..
Hello jet0n,
first you should flash newest baseband .54 , wich baseband did you have ??
after that
you can install 2.2 Froyo from freeX10
Download it :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900441
FreeX10-beta4.zip - fixed to work with baseband .54, xRecovery 0.3-unified, minor improvements
REQUIRES LATEST KERNEL AND BASEBAND 2.1.54 (shipped in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM)
gapps_FreeX10.zip - Google Apps (Market, Youtube etc.)
this rom is very stable ! You can also install cyanogen Mod (many extra features) under:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940302
Try it...

If you want Beta 4, you must have latest baseband (2.1.A.0.435)
Go look in the dev section
After getting the latest base band you need to flash the Tom via xrecovery. To access x recovery you will have to press the back button repeatedly when you see the Sony erricson text displayed whole booting. From there go to install custom zip and then choose beta 4. Use your volume keys to navigate

run SEUS???
Flash the Stock Rom with Flash tool .2.8
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Will running SEUS do it all?
From where can I get the stock ROM? I am from India and need to Flash the original Indian stock ROM
Use X10i Generic
Generic version 2.1update1 build 2.1.A.0.435 !
I dont think there's any special difference ?
Thanks! Also I checked on a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975692 In the first reply, it is mentioned that a repair from SEUS will do the trick. Can this be done?
yes, it can do the trick too
I'm attempting to install the new Zmod Cyanogenmod 7.1 but am encountering problems with xrecovery unable to read the SD/card when installing. Supposidly the new version of xrecovery will fix my issue but when I looked at the thread listed "2.3 STOCK ROM" as a requirement.
Now I cant update to the official 2.3.3 rom as im on O2UK, but I'm currently running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 (on baseband 0.52) so will I still be ok to update to the new version of xrecovery?
Also just a quick question as its been a while since I installed a new rom, it's baseband first (any .71?). My phone will still be rooted, busybox still installed, etc, as I've done all this before? Then install new .zip via xrecovery?
(I've already read the newbie threads so please don't just point me there, simple yes/no answers will suffice. I'm just a little confused about going from custom install to custom install.)
edit: could this be a problem with going from a 0.52 baseband to a 1.71? This thread talks about 0.54 but could it be something simiar? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053221
install xRecovery-0.3 (GBready) using flashtool
Here is the guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808
He needs to install baseband .71, better if he just installed gb and root it.
from 2.1 or 2.2 baseband less then 2.1.71
u need flash 2.3.x room 1st after that use flash tools flash baseband 2.1.71....
if from 2.1/2.2 u flash baseband 2.1.71 after flash the 2.3.x rom that xrecovery cant use anymore,
u neef flash via flash tool to baseband to 2.1.67, do it from 2.1/2.2 as well
7.03 android 2.2.3 baseband 2.1.67
7.10 android 2.3.5 baseband 2.1.71

So install the zmod 7.1 .zip through my current version of xrecovery first, then use flashtool to upgrade the baseband to .71, root and then install the new xrecovery (as in the first reply)?

I might give this a try first as at least I'll have a fully working x-recovery before I start. After I've installed it this way can I go back to my 0.52 baseband and CMod 7.0.3 if I want?

Well I installed xrecovery via the instructions on that link and my phone is now stuck on the SE loading screen. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid as my phone is not running stock 2.3.3. Can I have a fix please!
edit: Ok got it working by installing the .zip and flashing the .71 baseband. Thanks.
I have a X10a root stock 2.3.3 with xcovery installed. Now I want to unroot
and uninstall xcovery. Can I just flash it with the stock firmware
x10a_3.01.G.0.75_AMERICA-US GENERIC 1233-8200 it will do or I have
to do anyrhing else?
Just flash your phone. Doing so will lose xrecovery, root and it will wipe all your data on the phone.
Yes. Otherwise just connect it to SEUS. It will be back as original.

Thanks,
I flashed it with the generic x10a firmware, it was back to
normal but I had problem with installed Vietnamse keyboard so I
flashed it with the generic X10i global firmware. Now everything works O.K

good idea but it there a kernel integratet?
if yeah best thing is to extract the zip and combine the .sin datas to an ftf bundle so you just ceep it realy on stock than
do this
always remember.....
when you flash any rom through flashtool or xrecovery
DO WIPE DALVIC CACHE...BATTER STATS....PARTITION etc......
always do a clean wipe
or your x10i will keep on rebooting at the logo
