Problem with sd card. - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

So i've installed CM.
Now i got two folders of sdcard one is /sdcard(which is completely empty), and mnt/sdcard(where i have all of the files).
The problem is: I downloaded MP3 downloader, tried to download a song, and the app says: sdcard/sdcard/blahblahblah permission denied
So XDA please pimp my sdcard xD

/sdcard/sdcard?
Check your settings in the app.
Looks like it should be something like / or /mnt

Hy.
I want to paste files to system folder from sd card via root explorer (not old version), but it says that i cant because the file system is read-only.I know ,i had to press the button to mount the folder to r/w, but i havent got tis button anywhere.I repeat: im not using old version of root explorer (i tried 2.5.1 and 2.9.3 but the same problem). My phone is xperia x8 (android v 2.1.1).Please help.Sorry for my english, its not my native language
I use File Expert but I had the same problem. I don't know whether this solution is available or not, but it's worth a shot right?
You should first go to settings ---> File explorer settings ---> 'tick' Root Explorer
Then the mount option should appear. Try and see
using file export and I can't paste to system folder.

I'm trying to paste a file to the system folder, I have root expert ticked and mounted the folder. But it keeps saying "operation failed", please help.
In File Expert you should mount system as read-write manualy no matter that root explorer option is ticked on.

Two "mini" problems.

Hello there,
It's my first topic here as I am a new member.
I got two problems with my x10mini.
First of all I am running cm7(2.3.4) with custom kernel.
The first problem is that the phone can read the sd
card but the photo gallery and the music player are empty. I mean that the phone can't read/show the media of the SD card,if I want to watch a photo I have to open it with file manager.
Why?
Ps:i had this problem before the Cm7 installing.
The second problem is that the screen doesn't turn when I am turning the phone left or right or upside down.
It's stucked at one position.
Ps: I have checked the automatic turning at the options and the 90,180,270 degrees except the 0 degrees at the options.
I am waiting for your help,
Thanks a lot :-D

for pictures, open the folder and look for ".nomedia" files delete them in each folder if there is some
for screen rotation, which rom & kernel do you use? ("official" CM rom?)
Two ''mini'' problems. Tought in the same moment I read this: Pun Tun Tss. (Got it?)
Anyway, you can try what the above post said, or check if the media are on the right folder.

Rotation problem fixed after two reboots.
What do you mean with "delete nomedia" .
I didn't get it.
I can not understand.
My phone recognizes the SD card but the photo gallery,as the music player,is empty, like I don't have any media in my card.
It says that there is no media to display.
What should I do to fix it ?
Thank you.
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Use any file explorer or Windows Explorer and search for .nomedia.
If you find any file with this name, delete it.
I used ES scanner application and I can't find a .nomedia file in my SD card.
Should I try to scan the SD card from my computer or it's the same ?

any folder containing media files will be indexed in gallery, with only one execption: if there is a .nomedia file in the folder, that's why if you find one you need to delete it
you can try to use an alternative app (like quickpic) to see if it is the same or not
the most efficient way is surely a factory reset performed twice
In linux, files or folders starting in dot (.) are hidden, check for a "show hidden files" in your explorer, or use windows

Gmail Attachment issue from external sd card

Hi,
I have Galaxy s3 and when i try to attach any file from external SD card, it shows attached but when i send the mail, the attachment never go.
But when the location of file is internal phone memory, the attachment goes fine.
Also when i go to gamil app and click on attachment, it only takes me to my Gallery folder. and if you have any external file managers it shows that file manager as option (like Astro)
But technically, it also should show androids default file manager along with Gallery folder where you can be able to attach any file type.
Seniors kindly help with your expert opinion.
And extreame apologies if it is duped thread.
Kind Regards,
Anoop

Thanks for your revert. I also tried using file expert but facing same issue.
Is u r gmail app updated one?

Opps... Sorry. Somehow latest update on file expert broke the function. Try ES File Explorer instead.
Edit: Using ES File Explorer, you need to enable the "up to root" in the setting. Then only you can scroll to mnt/ext sdcard.

[APP] JB ExtSD App Binder

Hi,
I would like to share with you my new app. In few words... this app let you move Android folder (which usually contains app/game data) to external SD.
ROOT and BUSYBOX required!!!!!
How does it work? It's simple. It's a binder that binds Android folder from ext to int SD, all what you have to do is:
Move Android folder from internal to external SD (automatic in the future)
Install my app
Open app
Check "Bind Android folder blablabal"
Click Save
Reboot phone
1.0 - Initial release
Cheers

Me too, thanks.
Tried this.
I moved the Android folder which contain all the data to my SD card and run the app, checked the box and restart my phone.
But when I run those games, it ask me to download all the data again. And even the fancy widgets can't detect the skins which downloaded earlier.
Any advice?

Yes. It is rooted and with busybox installed.
I moved the entire Android folder to external SD and run the app but with no luck.

No dice. Just creates a new android folder on the sdcard. Keep it up and let us know when you have it working.
Please, pm me output of
Code:
logcat |grep qbanin
and
Code:
mount
commands from adb terminal.

I think I might know what the issue is. Once you move the folder into the sdcard, and the use the app to bind the folder. If you then delete the Android folder from the internal sd, all stuff gets deleted from the extSdCard as well. Once you bind the two folders, I think whatever is in one automatically is in the other one as well. I maybe speaking n00bishly here but that is what I observed.
Maybe the person for whom this is not working deleted the Android folder from the internal sdcard after he used the app. Thats why the files got removed from the extSDcard as well.
I think a working way would be to copy the data to ext sdcard first, delete from the internal, then use the app. Although from what little use I experienced was that whatever data is coming in after using the app is present in both locations. I maybe wrong though, maybe I'm using it wrongly. Please correct me if I'm using it wrongly.

Ok. Well. It is not correct anyway.
This is how i did.
1) MOVE the ANDROID folder from internal SD to External SD by MY FILE
2) Once file moved, i never delete any folder from internal SD.
3) Run the app. Check the box, save and grant permission.
4) Reboot the phone.
And once phone starts, apps like fancy widgets, or games will require me to download the data file again. And there's one more ANDROID folder being generated in Internal SD
Rooted N7105 with busy box installed
Let me know if i miss out any steps
Thanks
Hi,
Does your app use mount-o bind ?
I so, install instruction:
1) COPY android folder to extsdcard
2) DELETE content of android folder, but then leave the empty android folder there.
3) run app
If that doesn't work, check that you have a kernel that uses init.d, if the method is the one I think.
Am I right ?
Otherwise, will try this app, DirectoryBind keeps crashing and randomly forgetting the location of my spotify cache...

You dont need this for making Spotify use the external Sd card. Install an older Spotify apk. Start it and in loginscreen press menu button and change sd location to exSdCard. Then you can update Spotify in Market to the newest and it will use the external sd card.
Sorry for the ot

Yes, it does use mount -o bind command, but not via init.d scipt.
Ad 2. When you tap "Save" button, my app check if Android folder exists on internal sd and creates it if necessary.
Work great with crash rom v3.1

Yes it is. But directory Bind also have the ability to choose the directories and so it is more complicated

FYI: Storage Location Changed in 4.3

The storage location used to be /storage/emulated/0/. Well it is now /storage/sdcard0/. Also, the CM File Manager throws an error when applying root permissions, saying "Folder not found," however ES works just fine.
Update: While sdcard0 was added, emulated/0 still exists. The issue was most file explorers I used are having issues on 4.3. CM File Manager crashes, and ASTRO and ES don't show emulated/0 or /data. Root Browser is the first one I found that worked. Anyone else having these issues?

No, I use ROM toolbox and the file system is the same. Sdcard0 is on 4.2.2 also.
System path didn't change for me from 4.2.2 to 4.3
Well I'm a dumbass, because it turns out that I never gave ES root access. :banghead: CM File Manager is still wonky for me though, and I never remembered sdcard0 being on 4.2.2.....
