I've been running bionix for quite some time, but I've been seeing alot of posts for axura. Tws' roms have never failed me in the past, and they are always very informative. I've done a little research on axura but I wanted to get the communities input on what the differences are. Not which one is "better" cuz that is purely user preference...unless I'm missing something.
Thank you in advance!

try them both out.....experience is different for every user, because every user wants/expects/does/uses/needs different things. axura is personally what i use. would i recommend it? absolutely. would i say its better for you than bionix? maybe, maybe not.
I Love Axura! Its a great rom
Trial and Error... just flash MANY roms and decide what you like,
I prefer Axura for purely aesthetic reasons - but now theres so many themes out there.

not to be rude but thats kinda what you gotta do is make a night of it and dl the roms you wanna try out and just see what you think of each one.... ive ran 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1 and personally i like conap roms, all of his stuff has been super reliable for me...all the roms out there are gonna be snappy and quick it just comes down to your own prefrence, i might like vanilla and you might like sense.

sense or any other type of rom it doesn't really matter to me. I am just looking for the fastest and most reliable rom.
Its all personal preference, and downloading/testing a few is your best option to find the fastest/clean running ROM for you. Some Eris' act up on certain ROMS whereas others wont. Ill personally tell you that my phone was laggy and force closed alot when I used some of the Eris 2.1 sense ROMS, even with overclocking. Keep in mind though that I was the only person having those problems on ROMS that worked great for many. Now I run CM Froyo ROMS and those tend to satisfy my needs. IMO Nonsesikal has worked best for me, particularly Vanilla 13.7. That version isnt on the ROM thread either. You'll have to go to the thread, click to download an older version, and it'll take you to the site that has all versions for download. Give 13.7 a shot if you'd like, but remember that it may take a few ROMS before your happy.

I liked nonsensikal as well. I just rely on my phone a lot, and with the Froyo ROMs, I invariably run into a bug that I don't have time to workaround, so I switch back to xtrSense. It's fast and its stable. Thats why I like it. But I do have a wandering eye.

thanks. anyone else
i been using froShedYo and it works perfect for me.. best rom ive used by far
I've said this elsewhere but I'll repeat it. +1 xtrSENSE or xtrROM. They were so good that they are what remained on my phone for the longest periods of time (3-4 months) and the ONLY reason that I moved on from them is that they worked so well (i.e., reliable) that I was bored and wanted to tinker more. LOL. I'm very serious, though.
If I had to choose one over the other, I'd probably choose xtrSENSE. Or at least start with that and if you get comfortable enough with that, you could move to xtrROM later.
I like xtrSense too. It's just fast without the extra bugs or anything. The only bug I have is the 50% cell time standby bug but I think that's dependent on the phone.
CELB most definately if you like CM and Froyo.
FroShedYo is a tie, if you want something customized/themed. V6 is my fav. Haven't tried V7 yet, but I would guarantee its stable, fast and it has the same theme as V6. Also the purple is really cool. That's what my wife is using.

Knowing what I want : which of these awesome roms should I go with....
I do not care about battery life,I have 3 batteries and an external charger.
What im looking for is Speed, speed, and more speed, and let's not forget lots of color and flash....stability is a must.
I tried several roms already but can't seem to make up my mind and am just looking for opinions for what im looking for

Personally, I've been using Bionix V1.2 w/ voodoo, and it's super snappy. I've tried Axura, and it was nicely themed, as well as flagship. I really can't say any is better than the other, because I didn't notice a huge difference. I can say I have bionix with this theme, and it's pretty *****in. Here is the link.

Thanks Doug I too love Bionix V1.2.
I would never suggest one is better than the other, just different

No one can answer this question for you. It depends how you use your phone and the phone itself.
Try different ROMs, kernels, and lagfixes. There is also no true measure for speed beyond your own perception.
People do seem to be having luck with Eugene's new kernels and JFS.
I have been hearing some good things about Loki, Playtime, Ghandalf, and Trigger. Might give those a shot when I get some free time to flash.
I use playtime, fast stable and eye candy

This is good advice, out of all I have Tried (and I have tried them all with every combination) I am currently using the Axura. Theming and all the details are really polished. That and the Battery life...... I am happy. But, like the quote said it really just comes down to a subjective preference. All of the custom roms are so good ........we are just lucky to such a dilemma "which awesome rom to choose"
NOW, That is awesome............ great Devs
I don't think you can tell the differences in term of speed between the ROMs
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Agree speed is pretty much the same for all roms, it all depends on looks, goodies etc that the creator has added to the rom. I personally like the Axura as it has everything I like and use. Has always been a really good and smooth rom for me!!
Just wondering which of these is getting better battery life. I have been running Senseless but there are still a few bugs that are making the experience less than it should be. Want to hear from a few people that have tried both and see which they would recommend.
Honestly the best thing you can do is try them both for yourself. Everyone's batterylife/experience will always be different.

This is the best course to take really. Besides, once you flash one Rom, no matter how good it runs, you will likely try another eventually.
And you can't go wrong with Scott or boreds ROMs
Cheers

Both ROMs are pretty good. Scott's been doing ROMs for quite a few devices. I'm not sure about boreds. I do like the theming bored has done on his ROM.

Both are established and respected devs! They both release excellent work.
While I'm new to the Rezound, I've been around Android for a while, and it seems like at this point most ROMs are pretty much the same. Most of them work well, but there aren't a whole lot of new tricks floating around the Android world to distinguish ROMs. The devs do great work pretty consistently now, which is awesome.
I've been on unnamed for a while and cognition before that. I came from Cognition on the Captivate, so it's obvious I prefer a mostly stock ROM. Both of these ROMs are no longer supported though, so gathering opinions on where to go. If anyone suggests something please say why. Thanks
ShoStock is still getting updates.
My favorite is villainrom 3.0 hellraised with the latest version of the siyah kernel
CyanogenMod is pretty nice, its my first non-stock rom. The only thing I miss is the stock Samsung alarm clock. Its worth a try for a day or two at least.

These kinds of thread are really a gray area for us.
On one hand, there is nothing wrong wanting to get user's opinions. For somebody who is unsure, getting experience from others about what is good and what is bad can be really useful.
On the other hand, you can't just ask "What is the best". For one, since there are different versions of android builds, no one can just say what the "best" is. For some people, the best can be the most bleeding edge build even with broken functionality. For others, they may value stability the most; and for even more, they may want a build with tons of extra features.
So, with that said - OP: i welcome you to rephrase your question, preferably about some specific ROMs that you might have in mind, as well as what your needs are. Otherwise, i will close this down per board rules..
If you know how to flash roms and you are comfortable with it then just try them. Thats the best advice any of us can really give you. Im on sensation rom and that is still alive and a great rom, but its really up to you. ShoStock is your best bet to stay stock though.
Every quit your *****in'
ANYWAY
I've stuck with ICScrewD and Siyah for the past several months keeping up with the updates and I've been pretty pleased with my battery life and performance. I also switch to Entropy's DD occasionally. It's all stable
Try some various ones out man. Like poster above said if you feel comfortable flashing then it can become trial and error. You'll eventually find the one that suits you

But we already have a thread with everyone posting what version of Android and what rom they are using. Why do we need another?
SHOstock, is pretty fast and stable, and it still getting updates,, CM7 is awesome but they never fix the issue with the video codecs for our phone so if you have a lot of videos taken with your stock OS you will have to delete those from you SD card.

In the ops defense, the other one appears to be more based on Android version,, however you are correct that people go on to discuss the actual ROM they're running.
As for the people quoting Miami, well maybe they're just growing tired of his condescending posts

Sammy rebuilds or cm7/miu hrmmm cm7/miui k thx =]
UnNamed 1.3.2 for me works great. Went to 2.2.1, but the battery life wasn't as good, i did dig the ICS touches. Does anyone know if flashing the KH7 modem on UnNamed 2.2.1 will fix the wifi drain?

I apologize if I wasn't clear when I said "I prefer a stock experience". I use BT extensively in my car, so I was looking for a MOSTLY stock ROM with finctionality being a priority, would prefer to keep TW as well. Basically, something along the lines of COGNITION or UNNAMED, but, a ROM that keeps getting updates. I wasn't trying to cause problems, but, I really don't feel like going through the 5000 ROMS for this phone; I didn't think asking other users opinions was that bad. I did post in the GENERAL section. I hope that clears it up, if not, delete if you must.
I have lots of my old unreleased roms stored up and am curious if you guys would like them.
These are the 2.2.1 i9000 releases, with signal fixes and home key haptic feedback.
The ones I haven't done I can get done in about a half hour. In fact, to get back in the swing of things, I have been redeodexing, fixing signal reboot and adding haptic to them one at a time - very helpful as a learning experience for me as my "Chemo Brain" sucked tons of knowledge away and I have to relearn a lot of it.
Anyway, do you guys have any interest in these or any of my unreleased past roms? I don't want to start a new thread if there is no demand for it.
Let me know!
Absolutely!!

Are they all pretty much the same? 2.2.1 based, differently themed etc. I honestly don't know how much you can change in like 8 ROMS on the same firmware.
If they are, I would just say Make one ROM thats the most stable; and then put the others as themes possibly for that one ROM?
I think you should also move along to ICS as the other devs have done, possibly join one of the devs and work with them rather than creating the same ROM, like there are right now about 8 AOKP Roms, which run the same, have a different kernel.
I'm interested in stock style 2.2 roms. Now that megauploads is gone most of the links in here are dead and we're stuck with ICS roms aren't 100% working or 2.2 roms that are so tweaked they're unreliable at best.

I did and had either problems with bluetooth, gps, mute/unmute, mic problems (which killed my bt headset), or all of them at the same time. They were all pretty bad. I need a phone that 100% works and ICS hasn't offered that yet. When it does I might switch but right now I'm content on near stock 2.2. All out speed isn't worth reliably IMO.
