Does anybody managed it to get Video Calling working on the viewpad 7?!
I have no luck, no matter what custom rom or kernel I use, theres no video option in the settings...:-(
So far...happy with my rooted Viewpad on 800Mhz
Sorry, wish I could bring you better news, but I haven't been able to get it working either. A bit surprising considering the front camera, according to Skype they will support devices with front camera. Is it the lack of Flash support that blocks its usage?
Hi Im as well not able to use video calls on Skype on Viepad7,Now there is a new ROM and some Flash 10.1 that was hacked to work on our old ARM processor) maybe this could help...Durring weekend I should be able to test this ROM but looks to be ok...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224825
(*- added apps: Hacker's keyboard, Flash Player 10.1, ES file Explorer, 1clickcleaner, Dazzle power widget.)
fring
use fring works with front camera
but there s no more skype support in fring, afaik... ;-(

Anyone got news?
I do not understand why there is a frontal camera and no software to use it
The way I understand it, it's Skype itself that does not support it, our viewpad should be able to handle it.
Problem would probably in the Camera API that does not properly support calls to the front camera, that was only added in android 2.3
Would be nice if someone could test some video calling apps and let us know what works and what does not. I'm curious to see if there are any implementations that can acccess the front camera from 2.2.2
App's name viber can video call from front cam, may be cause microsolf buy skype and don't want to develop good app for android I think. Hahahahaha

aospCMod-vm670-20110601 (newest one, I think.)
LG-Vm670
Android version 2.3.4
kernel version 2.6.32.33-aospCMod
First of all, I am loving aopsCMod. Way bather that stock frameware! Thank you for making a very good mod. Only having problems with the camera (video only). Every thing else is just amazing. Keep up the good work!
Ok here the problem. The sound form andrecorder is good, but you will see that the sound form the camera is very bad.
OK so NO LINKS!! (I think that would make more spam. Oh well whatever!)
1. GO to youtube
2. and in the search put "pokemoncatdog, channel"
3. find a video by "pokemoncatdog" and go the the channel
4. When you get to "pokemoncatdog's channel" look for "andrecord sound test" and "camera sound test" videos.
How can I fix?
Thank you,
DeVriesj70048
Can you help?
Thank you

If you watch videos encoded in high quality resolutions above 854x480, H.264 or MPEG4 and a pretty high bitrate, you might notice that video playback is laggy and not fluid with custom ROMs. This flashable zip package is supposed to fix that.
Tested
Stable - Any ROM based on stock 2.3.3 (Wolfs TW Gingerbread, Blue Sparks, Ultima GB etc.)
Stable - Most xRecovery-based CM7 ROMs (ZMOD, SpaarcMOD, FreeXperia Sony UI Achotjan etc.)
Stuck on boot - MIUI ROMs
Untested
FXP CM7 (won't work anyways since it uses CWM)
Special thanks to

EDIT: I've uploaded a test video to check whether video decoder lag is present or not.
http://puu.sh/5j8h/SmoothnessTest.mp4 (854x480, H.264, 5 mbit/s)
If it stutters during playback, that's an indication that the video is lagging.
This fix will not eliminate the problem but will reduce the lag by a huge margin.
I noticed this while watching videos with camera panning, they looked very juddery.
Anyone tried this? Just wondering what the original problem was.

So, this should enable me (us) to play 720p Youtube vids?
never notist a problem and if there whas a problem, Z would have notist and came with the solution.
I think i would not flash this before making a back up.

You already play hd youtube.
Guys, please play the video in the OP on your phone and see whether it lags or not.

Why do you feel like discouraging people who try to offer something to the community?
On the one hand, there are tons of threads in General section
whining about people moving on from the X10 and development stalling,
and then there are post like yours... It's just not right.
Anyway, @OP, I played the test video and noticed no lags.
Could you explain what is it that you changed in the .so libraries please?
And why some people have the issue and others don't?
Thank you very much!
Okay. Downloaded the files. Tested the video. It does stutter a little.
Tested with scary gov. Running video twice... 22sec at 128mhz. And none over 500mhz! So its not decoding over cpu
P.s. Yes, also did with performance. Same problem.
Now gonna make backup. And then flash file.
Noticed the lag myself. So maybe it's missing a video codec, so it's not using hardware rendering.
I'll flash the fix and see if it works.

It depends.
On modded stock ROMs, if the dev included z's audio lag fix, this problem will surface.
On custom ROMs (CM7 for example), the issue is already there.
This zip simply replaces the libs with those from stock ROM.
PS: It was one of the reasons why I didn't use Froyo custom ROMs.

So, it will give us back the audio lag while listening to music then?

You could have also said this in first Post, right?
flashed it and saw no big difference. I'm on WB4.0.4
Maybe he already included it.
P.s. Your test video is not realy high res ^^ does 1080p work on our phone? Depens on bitrate i guess.

Technically, yes. Personally, I rarely get any audio lags while listening to music except when there's CPU heavy stuff going on like installing a large app from the Market.

I see...
But I got terrible audiolag before Z's fix when listening to music, even when this was the only thing I did (no other tasks running, screen off).

It may be because I'm running a custom kernel. Barely any audio lag.
Is it possible to play the pps.tv with h.264?

Not really. We play HQ YT vids aka 480p
Try DL-ing a 720p or even a 1080p vid and play it... see what happens. Not to mention HD divx/xvid content
P.S. regarding audio lag. I still experience it while underclocking to 128MHz. It's doesn't happen while the sleep FQ is at 245, though
............
Sorry dude but answer is NO!
No one can't help you and if you wanna understand why then check my post on miniCM treat about SONY CAMERA mystery. You will see no one dare answer my post coz I'm right on it.
There no dev who can deal with the experia and SONY camera.
The whole thing is alien tech and humans can't handle it.
Don't laught ! Jus go and read

Hi
At the moment i'm using the custom rom "MiniCM7-2.2.0" for my X10 Mini.
Well, unfortunately i'm having some issues with the implemented camcorder...
1. The recorded videos are stuttering. I've checked the framerate with the tool GSpot and it says 56 fps. Actually the video should be smooth with that framerate, but for some reason it's still stuttering.
Any solution for that? Would it help to overclock the cpu a bit? If yes, what is the maximum MHz i can choose without destroying my phone?
2. There is another problem with the camcorder:
When i'm recording outside in daylight, the video is much too bright - sometimes the whole screen goes white!
But when i'm recording inside where it's darker then outside, the video is much too dark - i can't barely see anyting on the display...
That also happens when i'm recording outside and then get inside in a darker place (still recording) - suddenly the whole video becomes totally dark - nearly black.
Am i the only person with this problem?
Well, then i tried lgcamera (latest version).
But that camcorder app also doesn't work properly.
As soon as i press the record button, the video freezes (not the app, just the video). All i can see then is a freezed picture. But that only happens on custom roms. I've tried several custom roms (gingerbread and froyo-roms) and several versions of lgcamera, but videorecording always freezes as soon as i press the record button...
Then i tried lgcamera on the 2.1 stock rom.
On the stock rom it doesn't freeze during video recording, but instead the same issues occur like with the implemented video camera in the custom roms: outside the video gets too bright and inside the video gets too dark! Well, at least the videos aren't stuttering on the custom rom using lgcamera...
I've read many times on this forum that people are using lgcamera without any problems on the X10 Mini - even on a custom rom! So how come it isn't working for me?
The only camera that does work properly is the stock camera in the 2.1 stock rom.
But i would like to stay on gingerbread or at least froyo...
Please, can anybody help me with this?

Well buddy.. I've got issues with the camera also.. Tried every app.. and unfortunately every app and setting failed.

Well, that really sucks
I've just read your post in the CM7-thread (btw. very funny explanation of the camera ).
In that case i'll switch back to the 2.1-stock rom, because i really need/want a good camcorder. And the stock one in the original rom ist just amazing for such a small mobile phone. Continuous auto focus ftw!
Well, thanks anyway for your reply.

Yes you right in 2.1 camera its amazing coz its maked and compiled by aliens.
Yeah my post is funny coz when I wrote it I was 100000% pissed of by the ugly android camera.
Yeah I'm using minicm for cost of my camera but this is coz I have ST15i the x mini next brother of our mini and use its camera for my needs.
I'm much in with cameras I'm amateur photographer ,displays colours , saturation , optics , HD, pixels and so on , all this things its like my seccond nature. That's why I wrote this post there on miniCM treat and like you see no one answer on it.
And in the end its soo strange how devs can port hack make and etc whole OS but when job come to camera its go to dead end.
Only reasonable explanation is Aliens coz only Sony can make this happen.
Wish I had some pall from Sony to ask him to make camera work but I haven't ....

I just recently installed FXP217 to my Xperia active , so far its great experience, but just today, I just notice that it doesn't support 720p HD recording, and also the autofocus on camera doesn't work. Can anyone else tell me what other else they have removed from the ROM? aside from what is written on the working/not working list
And also, can somebody give an alternate to the camera , so that I can use 720pHD recording again? appreciate all help, Thanks  :good:
They disabled it in low level, in framework and kernel. Even if u use third party camera app its still limited to 480p only.
