We need to get the ball rolling again by the looks of whats going on with cricket they are discontinuing the phone.. This means no update will be available to the zio cricket users. Cricket dooped us to thinking a rom update would be available to clear out all the inventory of the zio. This way they can make more room for new phones they dont have to pay to upgrade.
i know we as a community had successfully had a sprint 2.1 rom on the 1.6 cricket phone. i know there are compatibilities that are not the same but the phone is doomed to 1.6 and by the looks of how cricket is playing this they keep saying dates so they can keep the customers from returning the phones. so now we are stuck with a phone without any updates and now wasted our cash on a phone that could have been so much better.
The sad thing is the cricket users were the ones burnt here not cricket. lets get the project rolling again thanks.
I agree. I'm not into the technical aspects *yet* but I am willing to experiment.

Anyone got the official android os on their Touch Pro yet? I'm getting it on the 2nd and i want to port android to it immediately once i get home from the sprint store.
(by official i mean from the source code released yesterday 10/21)
I don't think it's that easy
Let us know if it worked.
I'm just wondering if anyone has done it yet, or if anyone has started, etc. I don't pretend to have sufficient knowledge to even try, so i was looking to others for help...

2nd, search before you post, there's no reason to clutter the forum with redundant redundancy of a redundant nature.
1) the wiki has like 2 pictures of a Haret bootup of the sdk rip of android, i was wondering about the g1 version android
2) Same as the above (sdk version vs. g1 version) last time i checked.
It's not like i didn't search, if anything i misunderstood some threads
You're named after a Dannon Yogurt snack, therefore I don't feel I owe you an apology.

Android on Touch Pro
That would be an interesting ROM. The Dream has similar spec as Raphael, and they are within half a year of each other, so it would be quite possible to run Android on Raphael. I would like to try it, once Android gets better established and I get sick and tired of WM.
Longhorn android
has anyone tried androkkid on the longhorn rom of windows mobile 6.5? Mines mad slow
what a shame to answer users like this such a pity for you man you make me sick Black93300ZX and what are you going to say about my nickname now? Eh ?!
i would like the happenings app from android or moto cliq
He's from Brooklyn he cant help it!
Hey guys,
So the way this story starts out is my digitizer broke. The screen stopped responding one day and so I was like eh, I'll bring it in to get it replaced. I have the total protection plan and so it was no big deal. The guy took the screen out and put the new one in right in front of me.
As he was replacing the screen I said something about the mms messaging not working properly. I just couldn't get MMS messages anymore and when I sent them it would show them as sent but the person on the other end wouldn't get it. So he reset the profile I believe and changed maybe some other stuff server side(?). since then the phone has had TERRIBLE data speed. I mean next to useless.

I wasn't sure at first what the deal was. I reinstalled a different rom, flashed a new radio to see if that did it and it did nothing. I went back to the store to tell them they borked it, but the service guys were already gone for the night so I have to wait for tomorrow. My experience with these guys was bad before this but now it's even worse so I want to fix it myself if I can. Any guesses?
tl;dr Fix remarkably slow 3G. What can I do.
Nope, it wasnt the store, its just sprint. Those speeds seem just about right for sprint 3g.

I wish that were the truth. The first two were using wifi to make sure it worked. The rest are on 3G. In my area sprint usually flies and I tested the speed next to a few people that have sprint as well and they've been way, way higher. In some areas in my region I can get 800kbs down. No where near as slow as this.
So, the development has kind of spuddered on the Amaze, and since I could not get S-on to work, I got stuck with the terrible radio on the ICS, and no way to get back to the stock radio.
I think I am ready to leave HTC for a while, too, just want a different look, something besides SENSE. I'm know I am in the Amaze forum, but what phone would you consider getting. Maybe the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Galaxy Nexus, or wait for the Samsung Galaxy S II if I can. I was ready to pull the trigger on the Galaxy Nexus from the Google Play Store, but the slower data kind of bothers me a bit. It is HSPA+ 21, and coming from the Amaze with HSPA+ 42, I'm not sure if I want the decrease. What to do, what to do?

Can you explain "So, the development has kind of spuddered on the Amaze"? Why do you think you need s-off to flash a different radio? If you aren't happy with ICS then find the leaked RUU for gingerbread, rename it and install it the same way you did with ICS..
The hardware of the phones you named is inferior to the amaze, and there are plenty of phones that are better than those-- I am thinking you just aren't doing very good research.
I couldn't get S-off for a while too. Turned out my problem was the wire was too small. You could try a bigger one if you couldn't get it to work.
it took awhile to get wimax on aosp roms for the og evo and 3d now that its lte will it be easier to get it working on aosp roms?

J/k, but from what I've read a LONG time ago, it'll be pretty much the same.
One developer claimed it'll be impossible. But who knows.

I was under the impression the the Thunderbolt had LTE in AOSP.....maybe not, who knows.
Also, It should help that the GNex is LTE. Given those maybe proprietary blobs (I really don't know how open Nexus code is) if its not, why wouldn't it be in relatively quickly? Yeah it's a different radio, but the interface should be similar across most of Sprints LTE devices.
EDIT: Yes, it seems the Thunderbolt does have LTE working in CM7
Edit 2: VZW's LTE has a removable SIM card for LTE Activation, I assume ours is very similar, with possibly embedded or spoofed SIM. This probably makes it at least easier to get to work because the device doesn't have to handle the authentication the the network, the network handles it.
Hey guys, my friend has an evo 3d and he is having trouble with crashes etc on stock. He asked if I could root his phone for him. Could you throw out some suggestions for the smoothest most reliable cdma rom for this phone. Keep in mind, after I flash the phone he will probably never update the from so make it a good one! Thanks.

Nearly all the ROMs in development section are stable unless they are labled alpha. If he wants to remain stock, a master reset is probably needed.
I'm running Paranoid Android 2.52 and it is amazing. Great ROM and best of all its Jellybean. The only thing I've found wrong with this ROM is the 3d doesn't work. But 3d on phones is lame anyhow. Kinda a gimmick more than anything.
Android Revolution or MeanROM. I wouldn't recommend any others as ultra stable and fully working, as I'll assume if he's anything like my brother, it's going to have to be perfect... Otherwise he'll never let you near one of his devices again.
If he's on Virgin Mobile, go with Harmonia.
I do not recommend flashing any kernel other than stock either, unless you are positively 200% sure it will never break down. Stock kernel as I have seen is the most bug free (although definitely NOT the smoothest, not by a long shot).
Make sure you tell him what you're doing if you decide to flash a custom kernel, and do NOT under any circumstances over clock. If he accidently touches something and ends up at 1.8gHz and performance governor, (while he may come to you to try and fix it) he may also end up obliterating the hardware on his phone.
I only know from past experiences.
So to end on a final note.
Enhanced stock is really the only way to go to ensure ultimate stability. And unless he is going to flash ROMs himself, that's my opinion.
