I don't know what i have done wrong. I have a vibrant with team whiskeys nero v3 ROM. I ran a back up so that i could flash the bionix-v ROM, and now my phone will barely work. It is extremely laggy and freezes constantly. Any fixes?
Personally I would odin back to stock and start all over again with a fresh system

Wipe cache. Factory reset. Alwaus wipe when you flash. Dont install old rom data with new roms.
Use appmonster or something to backup apps.
Quicker install than market.
Remember its not just easier but its better to start new.
Load each app again. Try not to mess with data.

I have axura 2.0.5, when the new rom comes out how will I go about updating to 2.0.6?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Odin back to stock then flash new rom cause I'm not sure when master is putting updates in rom manager
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
Thanks, do any ROMs use the OTA update?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Not that I know of but pretty soon I'm sure most of the devs will make updates available through there cause a lot of them have there own sites and are slowly pulling away from xda to an extent so it just seems that would be a natural step
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
I appreciate the info Will. I just downloaded 2.0.6 and I guess I will have to wait until I get home to use odin and reflash!

You do not need to ODIN back... just flash away. You are on 2.0.5 and there were very little changes for .6.
2.1 is going to be a much bigger jump.
Regarding having his ROMs show in Rom Manager... Master and Koush are working to get it to show up. Master has submitted some things to koush on his github I believe... not certain who needs to take what action.
Should I back up current rom, or wipe data & cache before flashing 2.0.6?

Always make a backup.
The rom will wipe data automatically when you flash it.
Because of this, you should use titanium backup to save all of your apps/data so you can restore them easily.
Already titanium backed up everything. this is what the ROM Manager pops up with when I click on the axura file.

Go to clockwork recovery and try installing it that way

Click to collapse
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
Ahh, you can install this way too.
If you do not have a nandroid backup then yes, check backup. No need to wipe data.
It'll reboot into recovery, backup, then flash the rom.
Most of us reboot to cwr manuallt to flash.
since i am running sc 2.6 do i need to a system wipe before installing dark revenge rom since it is based on the sc module?
I did it from 2.4 and it wipes it for u

I find that even though it does do the wipe for you, you should still do it manually. 3 times to be safe. Multiple times I have flashed a Rom after wiping once only to find half of the data still there.

Im having an issue with trying to install the darkrevenge rom. I am coming from sc 2.8 voodoo and i wiped everything it said to. I re-installed sc 2.8 just to be safe, because i was running a theme over it and wanted to start clean. I then went back in recovery and clicked on dark revenge. It goes to installing update and gets stuck on that screen. I tried this a few time with the same results. I waited 5 mins with it stuck on installing update, finally did a battery pull. Any thoughts?
Nevermind i figured it out
What was it?

Hey, I was wondering if I wanted to flash a new ROM, would I have to SBF, or could I just flash the new one with out doing anything, or could I flash P3Droid's GB update.zip?
Also another noob question, when doing System Recovery, do I have to press Install Recovery every time, or just once?
Thanks for you help!
just wipe data, cashe, and devlic and im fairly sure you can flash whatever you want. anything thats on gingerbread. eclipse 0.7 official is gunna be out real soon, the test version is the best so far in my opinion.
Thanks! Wanted to try it out, right now im trying the Window 7 ROM!

I think the rule is if its based on the same version of android, you can just wipe the data, etc., as mentioned above. If you want to go a step further just to be safe, you can do a factory reset which could get rid of some stuff left over from other roms and start you over from scratch. Note that factory reset will remove all your settings and apps which you will have to restore afterwards. Titanium backup does a real good job of putting everything back to how it was though.
Thanks. I started to just flash over and make nandroids to be able to "dual boot" different ROMs haha

Also i am getting random htc force closes. Does anyone have a stock rom with root permission? I just restored my first nandroid back up. It seems all the roms i try have issues, maybe its just me :/

Have you tried xtrSENSE? It's almost exactly stock. If you Nandroid restore stock you can even flash over stock with just a Dalvik cache wipe and keep all of your apps, settings, etc.
Xtrsence was actually the first rom i ever flashed. It worked great! I tried to flash back to that one but had issues. I have also tried gsb 3.9 and a few others i cant remember.

Edit* I dont have a nandroid of stock. Only stock rom with one click root.
Sent from my Eris using XDA App
Well, you can always flash the stock ROM and re-root it.
This is a stock ROM that keeps the custom Recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984274 (if you read that first post, it had a link to engtools.zip, which you can then flash to get root on the stock ROM),
The Flashback_21 will bring you back to stock ROM and stock Recovery, which you can then re-root with the 1-click app (the one without the radio is fine): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792026
Since you are having data issues, I'd wipe data/factory reset before flashing either one.
Hi. I'm running MIUI 2.3.2 and I like it alot. But every once in a while all my apps will force close and they wont stop. I've had to Odin back to stock and flash it all over again like 3 times! I haven't gone a full week without it doing that. Everytime I flash it I wipe dalvik...wipe cache partition & everything but iit still does it. Can someone please help?
I also flashed a new modem but it was compatible with miui cm7 would that be the problem? I didnt wipe anything for that. Was I suppose to?
I also use the miui controller mod to put my clock in the center. Didn't wipe for that either. Would that be a problem?
Please let me know. Thanks.

Have you tried going into cwm and fix permissions?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I did that when it did it the first & second times but each time I did it it would work properly for a few days then everything would force close again.

Sometimes restoring app data across different "platforms" (that is) -- backing up apps and data then restoring over and over again, leads to this sort of problem. I rarely have this issue itself come up, but usually if clearing the caches and going and manually clearing the data doesn't do the trick, I have to just uninstall the problem apps and reinstall fresh.
