Of course. It had a lot of problems with non-se phones. But after the updated, it´s suppossed to be compatible with all Froyo devices, but anyway a wanted to know if this is true or not.

Well, finally, i got it. First impressions are pretty good. Nice packaging, decent wristband, nice led display. At first, I was afraid about its proper work, but it runs great in my Hero under sense 2.2. No disconections and smooth ui. These days i´ll test batterylife and stability during the whole day, which seems 0k for now.
In conclusion, it´s a nice gadget for everybody with android phone, but it´s a risky inversion because you never if it works good on your device.
It´s good for reading tweets, sms , missed calls and music player remote.

depends on what you want.. do u want speed or do you want the look.. to be honest, .4 rocks when it comes to looks.. you aint gonna get somethin' better lookin' than .4 at this moment. on the other hand if speed matters, then go for .3a.. but a word of caution, don't expect .3a to be perfect... there already have been known wifi issues and some bt issues too.. but all-in-all its perfect taking in consideration more buggyones than .3a out there..
I'm still waiting the perfect and stable Rom ....
there is no such thing as perfect.. perfect is based upon our own perspective.. when things that we need are fulfilled successfully, we call that thing perfect. have you ever heard about a perfect phone, a perfect computer, or a perfect software.. i dont think so because there is always something n something that the programmer/creator forgot to consider and thus there are some flaws in it.. so i dont think perfect will ever come straight into our face.. its a matter of us looking for it..
Hi,
I guess in this case that perfect means stable (no SMS, wifi or BT troubles)

Yup...absolutely right...current, i am using PDAViet 4.0.0.0.4 version and have trouble (sometime hang). in one day i can soft reset twice until third time and closing application suddenly. (it rare happened)
I use 4.0.0.3 (NOT 4.0.0.3a with no WiFi or BT problems. MMS works like charm. The only bugs I've noticed so far is the "word completion" module, that does not store new words and sometimes (rarely) wrongly redrawing Today screen.
well i have installe 4.0004 on my dopod 818 pro and its great with the looks and stuff but is too slow... and me going back to 4.0003.

Tried 4.0.0.4 and it was a pain . Had to soft reset many times. Stay on 4.0.0.3 until all bugs are fixed.

It would be very helpful, if you tried both roms you mention, & report back here with your findings.
@P4k1t0
SMS is working fine in 4.0.0.03, but zoomsms (from eten) doesn't work. This always worked with other wm6 roms.
Both .3 and .4 work fab on my device, with some small quirks.
If you want a speedy rom, go for .3. If you want great looks with the expense of a small slowdown, go for .4.

I have do that question to know what you (people using those roms) knows about that roms, bugs, etc, etc!
Let me tell u one thing............................
why don't u try .3 first for a couple of days, then try .4
u know, there are different problems, some1 has sms problem, some1 does not have this problem
so my advice to u is, try urself, and find out urself
it's not a question, which is better n which is not. the one which solves ur problems and fulfill ur desires, is the perfect one
think u got that
i have test .4 ... on first day, this rom has perfect!! but 4/5days later this rom has so slow :S, i dont have install nothing on that... none app, nothing!
So... there is no wm6 stable at this moment!
Would anyone mind trying this ROM http://www.4shared.com/file/91809782/5a01a2ac/Test_RUU_signed.html it is based on my ROMs found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466438 I am trying to add the AT&T dialer, video share and PTT to it. I can not test myself so if there are a few of you willing to test those features for me that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
It is just a test ROM and not all features enabled yet. If it pass the tests I can release a full featured ROM.
Thanks again!
I'll install this when I get home tonight and let you know what I find.
I'll give it a go. I'll post results tonight.
Thanks!
Just need to know if the video call is working properly and the dialer too. I can not test since my phone is kind of busted but it looks good from what I can see.
It is a plain ROM...no manila or anything. If all is good I have a full build ready to be posted in my ROM thread.
Thanks again!
So Far So good
So far looking good. Dialer works like a charm. I don't have PTT, however, video share works as expected.
GPS is top notch. Tested with TomTom 7, Backcountry Navigator, and VidaOne Trainer GPS. Locks in less the 30 seconds. A little lag, but a lot less than it used to be. I can certainly live with it.
The biggest thing for me is that I don't have to start GPS_Tool everytime I start TomTom. I go directly to TomTom and I get locked in 30sec or less.
Fast, stable, not too much fluff ... I think this is my perfect ROM.

How can I use ant+? I've updated my phone to .06 and tried with my garmin heart rate band (ant+) and mytracks. But there is no option to pair?
I've upgraded and I can't actually see any difference to anything.
Waste of time IMO.
I agree.. waste of time (and I will stick to that responce until its actually available in Germany )
one small question tho.. I have asked S.E but got no reply.. have they managed to get Bluetooth TrackID\callerID working with this update? or is just that crap ANT ****e that I will never use?
looks like I will have to buy an HTC, Motorola or Samsung to use my Sony Ericsson BT headset to its full capability.

I've ordered the mw600 bt headset, and I'm running the .06 update. I'll let you know how it works when the headset arrives. But I fear it will be a no go..
My main gripe at the moment is: how to pair an ant+ device! I don't understand, they are adding a feature, but don't let you know how to use it. Such a great little phone, but SE is handling the after market completely wrong (IMO).

Yea, I wonder if SE just implemented it the same way as they have BT (Badly) they figure no one would actually use ANT and therfore why bother getting it right..
Please let me know how you get on with the MW600 (if it works on .6 I might have to update my firmware.. and stop calling SE a bunch of F***'s )
(BTW its a great headset, I have had mine for a while now and it sounds fantastic and the battery life is really impressive, even using it with big over the head Headphone)

it is the one that will allow you to optimize the battery life cycle, by providing one console to switch settings of most common battery culprit on the phone. it also provide a simple suggestion on each settings.
im gonna have to say no to this update.. cuz even after enabling jit.. my phone slow as crap >< 4.0 mflops compared to 8.5 on .24 :S
i say No for this Update, because the graphic slowdown, my neocore test only get 37.8 fbs compared to .24's 47.8fbs. hope someone can solve this problem.
I have to say with trying out 2.2 and recovering all the time my phone really slowed down. So I formatted the SD cache and that helped a lot. But a couple of programs were chocking on my phone, so I did a fresh install of .06 and it is so much faster. I have only about 77MB internal memory, and haven't installed apps2sd yet and I won't bother, it doesn't help as much as I though at least on this firmware. My photos and music etc. load waaaaaaaay faster. Anything I do on this phone is faster than mine with apps2sd.
this update fixed a bunch of bluetooth->handsfree bugs as well as wifi bugs, (WPA enterprise did not work for me before) I think its very well worth it, its finally working as well as i want it ito...
Waiting for JIT...
If I update my mini, I still have root?
PS Sry for my english
Hello, please let me explain:
I have been passively following the progress of Atrix development here and I've been interested in unlocking but I never really had time to get into it.
My last phone was an HTC Magic and I had that unlocked (it was easy as hell) and I LOVED CyanogenMod.
Recently I've noticed it's getting easier (or just more clear) to unlock the Atrix (I have a Bell one so for a long time it seemed extra risky), but the thing is, I'm more or less happy with my phone right now. I do have it rooted, and I don't often have too many issues with it (I don't even mind BLUR), although sometimes it does get pretty damn slow, also the battery life is abysmal (like 12 hours ish with no music or video and minimal texting).
So I'm wondering, and I didn't find much on here addressing this: is it really worth unlocking?
I haven't been too involved here recently, so do these ROMs really improve the performance that much over stock 2.3.4? And more importantly, do they improve battery life? CM7 doesn't really seem worth it at this point.
Any insight? (Also I apologize if there is a similar post here, or if this post infuriates you in some way.)
Thank you!
EDIT: Okay I looked at CM7 and they've actually made a lot of impressive progress! I take back my earlier comment (and apparently I can't work strike-through tags)
Yes, to improved performance
Yes, to improved battery life
and to the CM7 comment, there are other options available.
Is it worth it to unlock it? Only you can answer that....but if you want a custom rom, then it's a must. If you choose to stay stock, no need to unlock.
No matter how tolerable Blur is on the Atrix, it doesnt compare to CM7. Like, I was in the same position you are, where I was like "Mehhhh I dont really want to risk breaking my phone for Cyanogen, and Blur isnt nearly as horrible as on the motorola bravo." But then I went ahead and did it anyway, cause it was a refurb unit and the warranty wouldnt last anyway. Oh my god, its SO MUCH BETTER. Holy god, seriously, you thought it was fast now, You need to try CM7 on the Atrix, and if not CM7, then definitely Homebase. You wont regret it, and I have a feeling we're getting Ice Cream Sandwich within the next couple of months, which youll need to flash.
Anyway, thats my input, totally do it. The only draw backs are no Webtop and no Fingerprint scanner, but thats just if you use MIUI or CM7.
There is also MIUI which just had an alpha release. Should be in beta soon, and release sometime soon after that. So far the alpha is pretty decent, and MIUI itself is awesome.
Wow that really clears things up
Thanks guys, I guess I'll give it a go
I saw that MIUI port. I'll definitely wait that one out, I've never used MIUI but it looks super nice.
And I don't even own a webtop or use the fingerprint sensor so hurray for that
Also ICS would be SOOO great. I was considering selling my Atrix to get a Galaxy Nexus but I don't have that kinda dosh... also I just read this today... yikes.
Hi there, it's me again!
After being away for quite some time due to a lot of issues with my netbook, and being busy with school, I recently checked the progress on the Flyer. As expected, Dexter did an excellent job already on Jelly Bean.
I tried the ROM, and I gotta say I'm quite satisfied with it. FWIW, I am thinking about getting the 3.0 kernel from the DHD to run on the Flyer. But, I have another project I'm thinking about which sounds more interesting.
So, is anyone interested in Open WebOS on the HTC Flyer? I am considering to give it a try this week, but only if there is some potential interest from the community. It would pretty much be an effort where I try to combine various challenges: getting WebOS to boot, and getting the Raspberry Pi to compile Android kernels, since my netbook does a horrible job at this.
Please report if it sounds interesting for you, and if I get positive answers, I'll do some research on the structure of OWOS.
Although WebOS seems nice I'd rather see you beat the crap out of JB and try to get it fully working until you say "I can't take this any further".

I'm not sure, I actually think JB has 1 major dev working on it. Sometimes it's better to have multiple, good, mostly stable options too chose from than 1 completely perfect one.
That aside, I don't use bluetooth headset so some people who do really want the devs to pool their work into that.
I'm all for web os though. And dual boot (don't push yourself ) would be awesome.

I am using the latest JB ROM atm., and I'm wondering (since I haven't followed the development the last 2 months): what is really broken atm? Aside from bluetooth.
Mine VM with Ubunto is stil there for u if u decide to give Flyer some more of your time. Am I interested? I am interested in Flyer with as much hardware working posible; working BT for voice calls, music and movei playback. As long as those work well i dont care even if it is Win 3.11EE if it runs nice and smooth. However Geting camera and hw movie playback suport on JB would be very nice and would get the ROM to TOP level. U cracked those nuts on ICS; any way u give it a try on JB?
Welcome Back CHAOS I agree with Antis (even though I don't really Know the advantage of WebOs) i was hoping that You could do something like get the front camera working for Skype

No HW playback support, no cammera and videorecorde, some flickering i belive,... rest is nearlly all there! So close to top BUT BT is FIXED (no report if for calls as well but rest been tested and reported 100% working BT functionalities)
I am not sure dual boot would be neat but i know thats asking alot. but like every one else don't matter to me if it JB OR ICS as long as we can get a nice and smooth working rom that has BT good HW for movies ect and cameras working i will be as happy as a puppy with to peckers ....
