I really want to learn how to make roms and themes, I know I know, there are tons of tutorials and guides on how to do this. What I want to do is be someones apprentice. I learn really quick and have been repairing computers and troubleshooting them for about 10 years. My only problem is that I don't know coding. Just want someone to teach me the ropes. I know a lot of you devs are busy because of CM7 but I can learn really fast! Hopefully someone can help me!

All I was asking for was help so I could learn how to cook my own Rom. Then next thing you know, here comes some people talking smack and showing how much of an ass they can be. First off, thank you for serving our country!
I can understand both sides of this argument. You defend our rights, including freedom of speech. It is just a quote, but when you have as large an audience as the net provides, you need to watch what you say and do. Even tho quotes like that are fine when you are with your friends, all it takes is one person to be offended and your done. Arguing isn't going to help, they have the right to their opinions too, you defend them as well.
Sometimes you just need to smile, say "you're right, I'm sorry", remove the offending item and carry on (it's how I've stayed married for as long as I have ).

Ok, I've had it with some of you. To me, it seems most of you spend your day flaming our dear developers. As soon as they make one little mistake, you rage on them till your heart's content.
Yesterday, nobdyAtall made a little mistake of not including a certain system file in the CWM Recovery.zip and some flamed him for it. So what that some of us (me included) had to flash with SEUS and start all over?
You need to stop flaming the developers and complaining. Unless you donate to them, you aren't entitled to anything. If you dislike the ROM or whatever it may be, then don't use it anymore. We don't care if you dislike it and you don't need to share that piece of irrelevant information with us. They spend their day making sure their ROMs work well, and there are always bugs to encounter, even though a ROM seems flawless.
I know these forums are rarely moderated, and because of this we need to sto posting senseless **** (Even me, I know). The main purpose of a ROM's thread, is to post bugs and general questions, and not just say "omg dis roms greeeeet"

Wanted to get everyone thoughts. I really like messing with my phones and really thought that this phone would be the titan of customization for sprint. I have been really disappointed!!!
I am thinking about switching to another phone if something doesn't happen quick...

But on second thought. I kinda like the phone the way it is, the lack of ten thousand of the same ROM with a different color for the theme is nice. If you REALLY need that, hit up the Evo 3D or the ET4G. Both will suit you PERFECTLY. And also will keep us from having a million of the same ROM's. BUT...if you WANT the Photon. The above link should tell you everything you need to know about building a ROM. And then you can make it ANYWAY you want, and don't have to rely on anyone else. Problem solved for everyone.

Sounds like you need a different phone. This same question has been asked a bunch of times already and the answer has been that the Photon will probably never be as dev rich as phones like the SGS2 and E3D. Most peeps with the Photon are ok with that but for the others that need to flash something new every day/week need to get another device.
The problem with these type of posts is they create more negativity for the Photon which is why some take it personally. We don't like our beloved device (or developers) put in a negative light.

Its kind of pointless to develop a ROM when you can only flash p-ROMs right now.

It happens to the best of us on occasion for different reasons, I've seen the excitement issue pop its head up before. But at least you manned up.
Same thing happened in one of the razr threads a while back, and the guy had too much pride to admit he was wrong. So he tried to carry in this obviously lie that he was the one person in the world who got ICS pushed OTA to his phone. That was a different case, you made an honest mistake. I respect your apology and don't think anyone will be too hard on you unless they just want to find an easy target to be a dickhead towards.

I'm not much into programming but am willing to give my honest (and in my opinion tasteful opinion) if anyone needs a tester for certain things; themes, what have you. Oh and by the way... If anyone wants a mirror to some file i'd be happy to upload to my dropbox and give a link. Just to help out..

I understand it's not entirely necessary. but why not? I just read all the rules and there's absolutely nothing that says anything against this thread. The rules do mention things against what has been said about the guy starting this thread. And rule #10 seems to make starting this thread perfectly ok, right?

When 1 person asks a simple question and the Mods close a whole thread. This person just wanted to know if a piece of software that is available in the Google Play Store worked on a ROM or not. We all know it is not burned into any ROM but just mention the name and all common sense goes out the window.

I noticed that it said in the op it was removed and saw that it was available on the market. Just wanted to know if it was removed because it didn't work or something before I possibly purchased it.
