Hello Everyone,
Does the Weather Toggle Widget work properly for anyone on the Dell Streak? I tried this on 1.6 and now again on 2.1 but it always looks messed up. The clock looks great but the weather is always compressed and cut-off on the side. I have tried different skins but always the same result. I really like this application and just want to get it working.
Check the screen capture to see what I mean.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
PS. I did send a support email to the creator as well so I hope to hear from him eventually.
[FIXED using ADW LAUNCHER (Free) in Market Place]
I was informed that ADW Launcher allows many customizations, including widget sizes. I use this as my home scren now and couldn't be happier having total control over my widgets.
Yes mine was cut off and it is cut off on Beautiful widget

What widget r u using?
I use beautiful home screen, and had a time issue when i flashed to 2.1 in that the time wouldn't change.
Sent and emial off to creator and got a reply very quickly saying to exclude it in task killer and it now works.
Only problem i have now is that the minutes section is over lapping on the right, not a big deal but still an issue.
Have to say tho the beautiful home live weather wallpaper is amazing.
Yeah i tried it too and it wouldn't line up correctly so i had to ditch it.

Howdy folks,
What is everyone's weather widget app of choice? At the moment I'm running Beautiful Widgets on ADW Launcher, but I'm interested in playing around with some different ones to get the feel I want. What do you guys use?
I'm using the weather channel app. It works well and has a good user interface.
I love Beautiful Widgets as well. One that a lot of people seem to like is Fancy Widgets.
I'm using Palmary weather Pro. There's also Palmary weather free.

I'm guessing the app doesn't FC as much as it did a version or two ago? I had abandoned it a while ago because it got slower and more unreliable with each release for a spell.
[Edit]
Ugh. Got the latest version of the Weather Channel app for my Vibrant and I get the same odd behaviors - unexpected closes, slow interface, etc. Downloaded Palmary Free and I'm much more pleased. Lacks some of the nice features that Weather Channel had but, geez, I'll take stability over some minor functions any day.
Hi! I recently gave the Live wallpaper Bubbleator another try. It is really nice and because it collects lots of data from lots of sources (calendar events, sms's, facebook, rss etc) and shows them together. Unfortunately my old hero doesn't like LWPs much, so I wondered if there is any vertical scrollable widget which can show this kind of info? Slidescreen is kind of the same, but I don't want to sacrifice all of my homescreens to this. The Meego Harmattan also has one of the homescreens which works pretty much like this. Is there any widget out there which can do this?
Thanks in advance
I'm looking for a good news widget mostly i read engadget but their widget is only 4x1 and I'd like a tablet optimized one.
Thanks
Pure News Widget seems to be a good one. Been using it on phone and tab.
Multiple sized widgets, plus resizable if using proper launcher. Scrollable. And many themes. It does tend to use a lot of data but on a tablet, not really an issue.
News360; best news widget available IMHO

+1 to this...just played around with it and it is pretty nice.
Pulse is by far the best, the App shows you multiple sources at once and the widget lets you place any sources on you main screens.
News Flash is pretty sweet! The Widgets are tickers and looks awesome on my Prime
as far as widgets go I like minimal reader for my rss feeds.
However I stopped using it for google currents... no widgets yet but I prefer it over anything else.
Hi All,
I've been using Themer for quite some time, adding the odd widget here and there and changing the configuration of other people's themes, but I now want to design my own homescreen.
The Themer webpage basically says 'use Zooper and/or the Everything widgets' and I can see that they're extremely configurable. However, when I look at the themes on the XDA thread and on mycolorscreen.com, a lot of them seem to have been built using a one of the other major launchers, such as Apex or Nova, and with widgets from other sources (Beautiful Widgets, ADW, UCCW, etc.).
So my question is this: what advantages are there to using Themer if everything works fine using Apex or Nova? I can understand that Themer is great for sharing themes and for using someone else's themes on my phone (and thank you for all of those!), but if I want something that's just for me – would I be better off just designing it in Apex and leaving it at that?
I was planning to have various elements 'slide open' by using the 'jump to screen x' command within Themer, which is a neat trick and looks very slick, but it seems the same sort of thing can be achieved by using PopUp Widget.
Is there perhaps some system advantage to using Themer? Does it take all the elements used and then 'flatten' them in order to streamline processing? If so, I can understand the advantage.
Please don't think this is in any way a complaint or criticism against Themer – I just really want to know!
Thank you for your help,

Hi Miles,
Very good question actually. Themer's main goal is to allow people to apply beautiful-looking themes in a few seconds. I've created over 200 videos on the MyColorScreen YouTube channel, with many of those homescreens (using Apex/Nova/UCCW/etc) taking over 30 minutes to configure, and that's if you know what you're doing. However as you mentioned, some people just want to make their own theme, disregarding any of the themes available. If that's the case, many people will stick to Nova or Apex because they're both good launchers that have many years of experience behind them.
So here's the deal - if you want a launcher that will do everything you need - stick with Apex. However, if you want a launcher that you will allow you to include neat looking wallpapers/widgets/icons without any hassle - go with Themer. Even you don't enjoy the themes, they're great for getting ideas. Themer is still in beta, therefore more features and improvements shall arrive soon!
Good luck
- Marco
