[Q] tmp files on SD card. - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been using a macbook to transfer files to my SD in the X10... i realized that it made like 15+ .tmp files on in the directory /sdcard/. should i delete them?

Deleting them wont do any harm from my point of view. I have deleted them many times and I haven't faced any problem
Cheers!
AdY

Thanks!!!

Unable to use USB storage or save files to it although it is empty

Hi all.
I have ICS 4.0.3 routed with stock kernel. I have just noticed that when I try and save files to my internal usbStorage folder the process fails. The folder is empty and I have even erased all data just in case. I can save to any other folder on the internal SD card. I am a bit of a newbie so I may be doing something wrong.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
Tim

The usbStorage folder is only for use with USB OTG. If you don't have something plugged in, such as a memory card reader or hard drive, use of that folder will do nothing useful.
Thank you for such a quick reply. I am under the misapprehension that I have put videos in that folder in the past. Obviously not!
Thanks again
Tim.

Lost.dir folder

First time ive noticed that i have a lost.dir folder in my usb storage that is about 3gb in size. Is it safe to delete the contents of this folder?

yes, but it will come back.
I've read somewhere that LOST.DIR is like recycle bin in Windows.. Used for recovering files.. Haven't tried it though

[Q] Folders

hello i found so many folders in my xperia sola. i am using ics. i need to remove all the unwanted folders. which all are the required folders of a android phone. please help me
On your sd card? You can delete everything but apps that require folder will create it again
Don't delete anything thats not in your sd card (if you have root)

i am talking about internal mermory
folders like .android_secure
.com.mobisystems.office
is these all mandatory
Its made by the application you install, if you delete, it will create again. It saves user data, save games, thumbnail etc.

Ur fone is using ur external sd card tats why. Mtp only allows one process to be running like u can only be copying one to and from ur phone at one time.

i don't get this. why my samsung doesn't allow to copy and paste games in a folder to my external sd card through mtp (which can be done a while ago) but it allows to copy/paste games that was compressed in winrar?.
i don't think its an issue of copying game one at a time.... i don't know why im getting that error when im copying games in a folder and not when it is inside the winrar..

[Q] Where are LIB files in internal memory?

Greetings to everybody,
I would like to know where my LIB files (from lib folder from some app) are going when I move that app from sd card to internal memory.
Lets say I have XXXX app and i move that app on sd card, then im my root "/mnt/asec/XXXX/LIB/" I got those LIB files. But when I move that app from sd card to internal memory from settings I really can't find those LIB files.
*Tried to search those files with "Search" from Root Browser, was waiting 1 hour and still didn t find anything but the searching was keep going on..
Can someone tell me what is happening with lib files when i move an app from sd to internal?
Best Regards
