External bluetooth GPS works fine here. We need more specific detail with your problem (but it is probably not folio specific, so try searching for your errors and you may find some advice that covers the situation.)

Most of bluetooth GPS receivers should work fine. You maybe have to configure you navigation app to use bluetooth connections, otherwise it's useless to try.
There are plenty applications out there which give you the oportunity to test the external GPS receiver connectivity for free. Try to see the logs and if the apps is correctly configured. In some GPS receivers, the first time you connect you must wait a few minutes before you get a fix on the sat.

My TomTom Bluetooth GPS works fine for me with FolioMod v.1.4 and Folio3x both with the App called "Bluetooth GPS". Without this additional App though it won't work and you have to enable "mock locations" in the development menu. The same menu where you can adjust the USB debugging setting.

no when the trial finishes it will block https...btw...if ur phone is rooted...try barnacle wifi tether...it is one of the great apps of android...

Three apps are there which are most popular. pdanet, easytether and barnacle. While pdanet and easytether do not require root (Superuser) access, barnacle wifi tether does.
The first two serve the basic requirement of hooking up a comp to the net using your phones data connection through the usb cable of your phone...
While Barnacle wifi tether turns your android phone into a wifi hotspot. The data connectinon of your phone is being made accessible using your phone too...An option remains to secure your ad-hoc network...
All of these three apps are available in the android market...

Ive tried using PdaNet my computer states that the phone is not attached, then tried barnacle and my kernel doesnt support it, tried using wired tether and my kernel doesnt support it either i really need help !

congratulation for all the work dones on our Folio. It is a nice tablet with a high potential of evolution...
I succeed with the 3G implants in Germany (O2). I get the connection (Huawaie 1750) but is remains unstable... I lose quite all the time the connection after 3-7 minutes... the bleu led is flashing every 5 seconds but did not keep its continuing bleu 3G light.. an idea ? Not far from success ? Thank's.

Great for you. For me, my 3G key stopps after two or three minutes ! Maybe I have to keep the connection working and sending/receiving data I guess... An idea of such a software using few data but always activ ??... thank's for support.

I will try just buy the E3565 modem , install update and set APN. It is working (this is enough for me for the first time) so I don't try is using continuously but If I have some result I will share with you..

First U need to set the Name ,the APN and APN type and also 2 number MCC and MNC. This can be "appearing" when u pluged in the 3G modem.
HI all, this is my first post in this forum, so I can't post this question on Venom Rom´s threads, thats why I post it here.
The thing is that I been trying to make work Mobile WiFi Hotspot on this phone, but I couldn´t.
I already tried Venom Sense 4+ (4.1.1 based Rom) and Sense 5 (4.2.2 Rom) without luck. (also the oem Verizon rom)
Those are the roms I like the most.
I'm overseas so I use the phone in global mode with my local gsm carrier but when I try to start hotspot mobile service an alert appears telling that I can't use it because I don't have a Verizon LTE sim Card.
I tried many app but all seems to be just widgets that start the service, so none of them work, even those that need to be installed on a rooted phone (mine is rooted and unlocked / s-off).
I also tried stopping all the verizon related services, didn´t work either.
Is there anything that I can do?
Something to erase / write in the build prop?
Kernel related?
Hardware related?
I like a lot this phone (I just buy it !) and I dont want to change it because of this, wifi hot spot is very important to me ( I use the tablet with it), and,at least for now, there is no extra charges for unlimited bandwidth services here (Argentina).
Help on this subject is welcome.

Yes, It starts something like a vpn service, which I don't like, but didn't work anyway. I just want the plain wifi hot spot that android has..
Me bad, with Viper DNA 2.5.2 now works, amazing rom, best I ever had.
Noooo, still now working.....With Viper DNA 2.5.2 I can disable the alert and turn on the service, but phone loose 2g/3g connectivity.

I know I am able to get hotspot to work on ViperDNA 3.5 by adjusting the settings to WEP with a 13 digit security code (WPA2 etc. doesn't work for me). As far as your sim-card issue I may not be much help. I did however, get that early sim-card hardware error fixed by having a new sim tray replacement through HTC.

Hello, is it a simple way or an app that would let me configure a certain number of MB that could be used by devices connected to my Android phone usine hotspot function ?
I am travelling and I have prepaid plans with à few GO datas included. I would like to let my kids connecter to internet through the tethering function (I Tarn the hotspot on) but I would avoid that they use too much data. Ideal situation would be to be able to setup à certain number of MB for the devices that connect to my Android...
Does any one knows à way to do it ?
