Like the title says, Any way to Disable USB Connected notification sound?
Any way to disable SD Card Mounting sounds. I've looked in the normal places and can't find anything. USB Debugging is disabled.
i would also like to know. In addition disable shutdown sound too! I have root if that matters.
edit: just noticed that the shutdown/startup sounds are just the sdcard mounting. is there way to disable this sound?
Guessing if you find out where the file is that it loads and just delete it or replace it with a sound file with no sound it'll work. There's no actual option for it though.
I'm new to android. If there is a root file explorer for this and find the sound folders, I'd like to know. Notifications need a sd card, and I hate sifting through the default tones.

Came across this thread after a Google search on the same topic, haha. Also came across this:

If anybody uses Tasker, what you could do is setup a profile that automatically puts the phone into silent mode when the USB is connected. Not the best solution, but it gets the job done; hearing a gazillion noises when I hooked my phone up to my computer was getting way annoying.
Thank you very much! I need to
A lot of custom roms also has the option in Sound Settings to disable this. Make sure to check there, if you have a custom rom.

Hi All,
Had the RAZR about few weeks now. I am rooted, using smart action, but no task manager. Recently I started to notice my tones would change by itself. It started when I first got the RAZR, but I figured, it was just some settings I messed up, but now I am pretty familiar with the phonoe, I am very sure that it is changing tones on it's own. My ringtone was changed yesterday. My alarm was different today. The ringtones are from Zedge. Please help!! Thanks in advance!!
u are not alone im having the same problem too,at first i was thinking that this is bcoz im using ringo pro and zedge but after uninstalling them it's still the same.this is driving me crazy
Mine changed on their own just yesterday. I thought it was weird, but my battery was low so I assumed it was a smart action function that wasn't listed. After I unplugged it, they went back to normal.
Not rooted, and using stock ringtones, smart action samples, and task manager/auto end.

Mine does this occasionally, too. I assumed that it was due to the phone ringing/getting a message while it was charging and not having the selected ringtone available and defaulting to a random standard one, but I could be wrong
You need an exorcist!! :°)
Mine hasn't got any form of demons possession... try to wipe /data and /cache via recovery, this behavior can be caused by an application you've installed from the Market.
It can also be caused by the phone being mounted as a USB drive by a computer (if you have it mounted when charging, for example).
The SD card can't be accessed by both the phone and the computer at the same time. If your ringtones are saved on the SD card and the phone is mounted on the computer, when a notification pops up, the phone can't access the custom ringtone and switches to the default. Once it switches to the default, it's not smart enough to revert back to the custom tone when the phone is unplugged.

Wow! Kudos on getting that figured out! Never would have thought odd that, but that is 100% right!

Phew thought I was the only one. Very strange waking up out of a deep sleep and my thinking thats not my alarm??? It defaulted to the very first MP3 file on the external SD card which would matches beartard explanation

No problem. This is something that affects all Android phones in some way or another. It's not just a RAZR thing.
Mine did his tonight. On stock moto charger/cable on stock phone, stock ringtones. Ring changed to a very basic ringtone. Went back to normal after unplugged. On new .748 update.
Hello together,
i have the European version of the Razr and the very same problem.
Always after using the Razr as USB drive (mounting storage) the ringtone/notification tone/alarm... change to a completly random tone from anywhere... its also using mp3s from games etc. thats very very bad!
It is definitly not switching back to the default tones on the internal storage but to any tone avalable anywhere....
has someone allready an idea how to solve that? I have read in another forum that a system reset will help but I´ve not tried that yet, because i am not shure f that helps.
I had this problem with my Desire Z now I have it with my Evo 3D, Android obviously doesn't like what I have chosen as the notification sounds as it changes them! I can't even save the Sound Set, to quickly change it back, as even though I have one file selected as my ring tone for example, when I go to save the Sound Set, it shows as a different one for my ring tone! Even when the file I want is chosen, it does sometimes change this anyway in the Sound Set!
I am aware that if I have the SD card set as a Disk Drive when it is connected to the computer then I can't use the files on them as notifcation sounds. This does tend to happen following being connected to a computer, even though it has just been connected to charge!
Does any one know why yhey might be changing or why I can't even save the Sound Set, as even when it was showing the correct files and I save it it changes?
I've done some searching around, but I'm still a little lost with Windows Phone.
I've unlocked my bootloader, and installed a non-stock ROM. No issues there.
1. I installed Snotify, but it seems like it doesn't mute media sounds, for some reason. Am I confused here, or is there a way to disable media sounds completely? I realize it's not really a notification, so maybe the dev figured it shouldn't be part of the app, but the last thing I need is to accidentally click on something, launch a game, and have my phone blaring some silly song in class. Any suggestions on a quick way to know for sure that the media volume is at 0, even if the "master volume" is at 30/30 (yet muted via Snotify)?
2. Is there any possibility to make the hard buttons light up as a notification? Just a basic blinking every 5-10 seconds, or something like that, would be fine. If not, is there at least a way to make important notifications (phone + text) repeat until acknowledged? Either through vibration, or audibly, whichever is active at the time.
3. Is there any way to do voice calls, or voice searches in Nokia Drive, so that it's easy to make a call or nav while on the road?
Thanks!

Hey,
I installed some updates from the store (like extras, apn and whatnot) and now after I unlock my device it sometimes gives me a strange notification sound. I can't say exactly which one it is, because you can't select it for any message/notification type. It even plays the sound when I am in silenced mode.
Any one else with this issue? :/
bye, Smirny
I think one of the updates added a notification sound when you unplug the charger cable. May be that's what you are hearing
I noticed a weird sound when taking the phone off charge, Or did I dream it?

A recent Nokia app update has added a bug that plays a notification sound when unplugging from a charger. It has been reported to the relevant development team but I've got no idea how long it will take to correct it.
As for a notification sound when unlocking the 920, there is a setting for that under Ringtones + Sounds. But it shouldn't play if the phone is in silent mode so it could be related to the other bug which has also been implicated as a possible cause of some apps not working and requiring a hard reset to get the phone working properly again.
I have my USB Config set to MTP and USB Debugging ON under Developer Options. However, whenever I connect a USB device, it always resets itself to Charge only and I have to switch it back to File or Photo transfer in order to connect to PC, AA, etc.
Any ideas on how to make the USB setting 'stick' with what I set in DO?
Is there an ADB command? Other setting I should be looking for? Any help is appreciated.

Strange, I *know* that mine 'used to' stay at whatever setting it was left at before. I just tried it now, and it still stays on whatever it was last set to, BUT... It automatically toggles the 'allow debugging over USB' to OFF every time I plug my phone into my computer. Now I know it didn't do this before, I wonder if it has something to do with 'always trust this connection' being set? Also, it really seems like this stuff is behaving just a wee bit different since I unlocked my bootloader. Hmm, could it be they have set a flag where USB debugging always turns off when the device is connected to something, IF the bootloader is unlocked?

I can confirm that this happens on mine too, really annoying, but I think this is not something a lot of people are facing, as there are literally NO other references to this that I can find. The reason why I think this is a very specific issue is that I recently got a Mate 20 X, which is essentially the same phone, and noticed that when I plug in the USB to a PC, I get a dialog pop up at the bottom of the screen asking if I want to transfer photos, files or to charge only. I NEVER saw this on the Mate 20 Pro, but that might be because I messed something up. I did do a lot of fiddling over ADB when the phone was new (mostly disabling apps) and giving permissions to apps like lightning launcher and System UI tuner and I'm wondering if this what has caused the issue.
Obviously even before I did this, I necessarily must have connected to the thing via USB, but strangely, I don't remember seeing this dialog... Having to go into developer mode to change this setting can't be how it's set up normally, as then basically no-one will be able to get connected via MTP (I suspect everyone on XDA knows about this setting, but suspect none of the average Joes even knows the option exists).
So the question is, what did we do wrong and how do we get this diaglog back because I have found that Developer mode is not accessible for other Users set up on the phone so I can't access the phone at all via USB now when the other user is using it...
I'm hoping we can work together to find out what we did wrong!
PS: I find like kaibosh99 that the USB debugging also toggles back to off. I am not rooted or bootloader unlocked
After a lot of faffing and looking into it some more, I don't get the pop-up dialog but have discovered that it is in the notification menu where it shows
USB icon . Charging via USB
Expanding that notification and tapping on it, gives the option to choose file transfer and a load of other stuff. It's a pity that a pop-up dialog doesn't open like on the Mate 20 X, you can see what I mean here
https://uk.community.huawei.com/mat...tried-usb-debugging-and-all-that-already-6786
Much easier than having to go into the notification menu!
