Hi everybody, As you all may know, The usb connector is very bad ... nad mine is broken, so i can't connect it to my pc anymore.
I need to update my baseband / firmaware etc. ... but it requires flashtool (and USB connection so) ... Adb wireless doesn't work in flash mode.
Is there anyway to flash without connect via USB ? OTA update service is not available anymore and I want to update my phone ...

i think there no way to flash by SDcard like on HTC...
OTA is just for Patching le current system, not to Flash a New build..
if you are on 2.1, you can use xRecovery to update the system, not the baseband..

Hi there, got xperia with broken? USB port - when plugged in to charger it charges (but doesn't show it's charging), when pluggen in to PC nothing happens (there must be a popup or notification in notification bar like i have on x8?)
the phone is really great, but it has only droid 1.6.
So is there any possibility to run update to at least 2.1 only from SD? not using the USB connection?
I have tried installing zdzihu's tool, but the phone says "cannot install application xRecovery Installer on this phone". Root made by Universal Androot and BusyBox installed in /system/bin/.

you can do this in 2 ways.
1:
Use SEUS. Download the New 2.1. Version. Turn your Phone off. Flash your Phone with SEUS
2:
Use Flashtool and flash a custum or genric ROM

really great, but PC doesn't find xperia when plugged in... so it didn't solve my problem.
use in settings the ota with wifi to update the Phone.
If the micrusb is not working, you should get that fixed 1st.
With phone rooted, busybox installed use xrecovery.apk from the official thread to install it.
Choose a nice firmware to install.

Shows network error (but browser and market normally operate), will try at home with other internet connection.
Phone has been sent to the service and they returned it cancelling guarantee.
all apps downloaded from official threads.

Got the same problem yesterday, bought on allegro like a new. I used it for 4 months, everything was perfect. Suddenly USB stopped working. It charges via charger but extremely slowly, via PC nothing happens. The biggest crap I have ever seen in a cell phone that class. :/ Of course I don't have warranty. Did they (service) explained why they cancelled your waranty? Did it happended suddenly or it was already in that condition when you received it? Have you dropped it on the ground etc? Any reasonable explanation?
It is propably impossible to update ypur phone OS without working USB transmission. Phone must be run into service mode first, than you can update basband (from what I know and I think I know much, this can be done only by USB cable) required for newer roms. After that and phone being rooted you can flash newer roms directly from SD. I'm "lucky" 'couse I managed to update baseband to .1.54 and Froyo just before that crap stopped working. Ehhhh.....

Hello is possible to upgrade X10i 1.6 to 2.1 or 2.2 without cable?
I Am hanging on internet from early morning and still nothing, how to do it.
- my usb on my xperia is totaly damaged (no cable input)
- my phone is rooted I have busybox installed and rom manager, but i cant install xrecovery(still message the app cant be instaled on this device. I have tried all versions) I would like upgrade rom from SD.

you need to install xrecovery manually ... it will works fine ..
and i guess, there's only 1 way for you and thats xrecovery way ...
You can push xrecovery onto phone via adbwireless app. It allows you to use adb over wifi. Very handly little tool if you dont have a cable spare.

U also cant update to 2.3 with broken usb and for 2.3 u need .71 baseband and latest kernel for which u have to flash them through computer using usb cable...
So,..as they said before,the best way is to fix the port to save time....actually it's the best u can do..u won't have to take off battery and SD every time u want to get some music from PC

Sorry really off topic but you dont need to do that anyway, i just use wifi browser and send rar files to my fone using my internet browser then unpack them on my fone

I don't have warranty, that's the problem. And I was in 2 service points, both said that it is impossible to repair my USB :-(
It's not a problem for me to use card reader/wifi/bluetooth to transfer files phone-pc or pc-phone. Problem for me is that without working USB I can’t update from 2.1.1 to 2.3. In fact, I can’t do anything that is needed to update to stock or custom (uptade, root, recovery mode, etc.)… :-(

i was using the cwm and running on cm10 , and i decided to get back the original because the cm10 drains my battery ! , i got the original software file , and when i open the mob in download mode my PC shows me a weird message ( device failed enumeration ) !!!!! , and the odin never reads the device , i tried to re-install the cm10 with it's bootloader but no use !! what should i do to make my pc read the device in download mode , having the drivers of every samsung mobile installed right on my lap

You might have TOO many Samsung drivers. I would uninstall all, reboot, and install the newest Kies to reinstall the latest ones. Other possible issues include the cord (even if it works to charge and/or on other phones - some Samsungs are picky), the PC USB ports (try them all), or the USB port could have issues (even if it works to charge). Sometimes it's easier to try another PC altogether. CM doesn't have it's own bootloaders. Sometimes they might ask you to update or be a specific version but they're still Samsung bootloaders so should not affect you in Download Mode. Another option is Mobile Odin if no luck with the connection still.
