Does anyone know of a keyboard that has a "paste " button? I would like to get the copy paste app but have no way to paste with the nook right now.

CM7 using Gingerbread 2.3 has copy and paste
I'm not sure you will find a App or Keyboard that has this function.
EDIT:: Ok a quick look on google. and found this "Copy Paste It"
Looks like its $3.99 for the full version, free is limited to 10 copy and paste

Yes this is the app that I downloaded, but with the nook there is no way to paste and the app doesn't come with a paste function so I was trying to find a keyboard with a paste button. I hear the slide - it keyboard has a paste button but I'm not sure if I'd like that type of keyboard.

If you are running Eclair (2.1), you will not be able to paste. If you are running 2.2 or 2.3, you have that capacity.

You certainly CAN paste in rooted stock 2.1 Eclair, as I just demonstrated with your quote above, using the copy and paste buttons on Ultra Keyboard.

SlideIT keyboard also has copy/past buttons. I was using it when I was still on Eclair. As others have mentioned the newer ROM's allow you to paste by long touch in a field.

How did you get this to install? My NC is rooted with 1.1 firmware. When I try to purchase this keyboard in market the notice is "no compatible device" found. I have tried other suggestions I found here but they didn't work for copy/paste.

I think you might get better answers by asking this question in the hybrid tread?
I read that you need to install swype "beta" version to get swype back.
I'm sure the other apps can be found in the market I'm sure?
Did you even run a Titanium Backup to restore apps?
Yes, I do a scheduled Titanium backup and backup before installing a rom.
You didn't lose them... you removed them by flashing that ROM...

Buy root explorer, move the swype.apk from vibrant9 (or vibrant7,6,etc.) into your system/apps. Worked very well for me.
swype is the only one thats been giving me problems... others just need to be reinstalled.
can i get an explicit confirmation from those of you that says it works, that on r1, not the first hybrid (that worked for me), you were able to pull the swype apk from vibrant9 or whatever and get it working on r1?
EDIT: fix works. just pull and copy system/lib file as indicated below
Install the Evo Swype apk that's floating around. It works

Eugenes roms don't have the bloatwate i.e. mobi tv and others. If you want them, back them up using root explorer before flashing streamlined roms. But one of the reasons the roms have a snappier response is that the extra programs aren't bogging it down.

oh i didnt realize you dont want metamorph on your phone.....its tough to believe that some people can live without it hahaha
anyways, easiest way to install your swype is place the .apk in C:/AndroidSDK/tools on your PC, then access your device through adb (command prompt) and simply type this command:
adb push Swype.apk /system/app (then press enter)
then bang! your new Swype.apk was installed over the one you currently have

To the OP, if you are trying to get a specific theme only for Swype, then just use my metamorphs. The Bionix rom uses a Non voice input version of Swype if i remember correctly, and the theme is one of the old ones I found and had in my non v.i. thread. Currently, my metamorphs are for voice input only, but i promise, it's the simplest way to create, distribute, and apply these themes. Sure, it's easier to just replace an .apk with an update.zip, which would allow me to edit the libSwypeCore.so file to change the trail line color as well, but it is also a monumental undertaking in themeing software with REAL fragmentation issues. You thought Android was bad? BAH! I don't even know a rough estimate of the number of versions of Swype being utilized now... If I were to theme the .apk itself, then I would have to do a separate one for Vibrant, Epic, Fascinate, Captivate, GT-I9000, Evo, DX, DInc, etc, etc, until I FINALLY get ONE theme for ALL the versions of Swype. Metamorph eliminates the need for that. You can just install Metamorph, apply the theme, and then uninstall metamorph. You won't lose your theme

the only thing i can suggest is using opera mobile as a browser. its working in there at least.
There is no native copy/paste feature in the tablet. You'll have to download an alternative browser or somesuch to do that. Its quite annoying tbh

Hi, I can only cut and paste in to apps that have code for cut and paste on the NT. On the NC, with cm7 it is not an issue. I have been using Everywhere Clipboard lite, aNdclip Free and Copy Paste It trial.
ALL only work with apps that have code for cut and paste written into them.
Not sure what apk is blocking this or where to look for a solution.
Unable to paste, even thou it is in the clipboard. used opera mobile to copy url.

Thanks for answering. I understand what you say, since I run cm7 on my NC.
It is just frustrating on the NT. But I have been able to work around cut and paste issues.
I've found a way to enable copy and paste - instructions and video at forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1534757. Requires root.
Hey guys, I wrote an article over on our site that shows a quick walkthrough on how to display full desktop websites permanently on Chrome for Android Mobile so that you don't have to visit the mobile site, then hit "request desktop site" button any more. Considering Chrome is an awesome browser with full sync, and works very well on Jelly Bean, this might be of use to all of you. I know I was sick of having to constantly click the button.
Article: How To – Permanently Have Desktop Mode on Chrome Mobile for Android
Rooted device Instructions:
Copy the chrome-command-line.txt file attached to the post, then paste it into /data/local/ making sure to set the permissions to 755 and to remove the '.txt' file extension.
Flashable .zip, for the lazy:
You should know how to use this by now. Grab the attached ChromeDE.zip provided by XDA user djmcnz and flash away! (Thanks!) You can also drop him a thanks by visiting a post of his later in this thread.
ADB Instructions (for non-rooted devices):
Place the chrome-command-line.txt file in the root directory of your PC and rename it to 'chrome-command-line', then make sure your device is connected to your computer. When connected, issue this command:
Code:
adb push /chrome-command-line /data/local/chrome-command-line
You can also set the path on your computer where the file is located by replacing the first '/chrome-command-line' with the file location.
Cheers! Hopefully we'll see a better implementation of this in the upcoming 4.2 release.
Very useful. Instructions were clear and precise, Nice one!

I'm using solid explorer off of the market (a free file manager) which allows you to set the permissions of a file. In solid explorer, they are set by ticking the correct boxes, whereas in other applications they are typed in by number..

Good tip but it can be improved.
You don't need root to write to /data/local/ so in theory this trick will work for everyone, might pay to update the article.

No? When testing with a Nexus 7 unrooted you cannot navigate to Data/local through Solid Explorer. Naturally I thought it had to be rooted. If you have had success with a different file manager (or pushed it through ADB) then letting me know what worked would be great.

You'll be able to get to it in a terminal window or adb - not sure what's up with Solid, equally an update.zip will work without root.
/data/local/ is r/w for the local user and shell.
try - echo test > /data/local/test.txt on a non-rooted device, it'll work.
Actually, now that think about it more - Solid probably can't list the contents of / (root) so you can't navigate to sub directories. Can you type a path into Solid? That should work.

I'll definitely test that out and put a guide for newbies on there. Solid displays the root directory, but will not allow you to navigate to a folder inside of it. I was thinking about ease of access for the user, and assumed they wouldn't want to go the adb route. My bad, but thank you for the heads up.

No worries, I can whip one up in a few minutes when I get home.
In the meantime you can have a look at some here: http://djmcnz.batteryboss.org/GNexus/mods/StockLauncher/v4/

for now yes, but in the future. answer a sms from your watch without having to chose from a preset. or send that tiny whatsapp message from your watch. theres possibilities with it.
I tried it, got the app to run, but never managed to get the keyboard to pop up.
The only issue is that few/no apps support keyboard entry. I was hoping to test SWApp - that insists on keyboard entry at configuration (but no joy with that either).
Edit: fixed
It was a conflict with Wear Mini Launcher - some GPU resource issue maybe. On your phone, open wear mini launcher, set 'enable drawer' to off. Obviously this means you can't have the launcher active, but at least it is possible to test, without having to un-install.
