Is there a way to root the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G? I tried Z4root and the 1 click root method for 2.2 and neither have been successful. Thanks
Have you checked for an unrevoked root method?
I sent this from my Vibrant!
Rooting
People have had success using SuperOneClick v1.6.5. I haven't tried it myself. The only thing is you won't have CWM yet.

Hey all, I recently flashed to 345 and then proceeded to root to get rid of the bundled apps ooVoo and Pageonce; how do I now unroot?
Thanks.
Did you use superoneclick to root it? You can unroot it using the same app.
Since they are essentially the same phone, can I root the Fascinate using the exact same method and procedures I used to root my att Captivate ? Thanks in advance for any help

If you used super one click to root your captivate then yes you can use the same method...if not I would use super one click

That was the method, thanks !
Which root method is the best to use to root my Lg Optimus V? While using some googlefu I have come across various methods of gaining root and I am curious which method is the best and the varying differences between them.
The methods I have come across are as follows;
GingerBreak
SuperOneClick
FastBoot
I'm also curious how I would unroot and restore the phone to factory defaults. Any information on that would also be much appreciated.
I used the gingerbreak method and it worked without any problems. Superclick would probably be the easiest.
Which is the least intrusive and can be most easily reverted?

GingerBreak would be good, you will have to install busybox later manually, while superone click installs busybox for you but if you are on 2.2.2 use GingerBreak, also has button to unroot.

Gingerbreak can do both so I suggest use it.
I'm using SuperOneClick.
Depends on which firmware you are. If you are on 2.2 then use z4root, great tool and easy to revert.

Depends on what version of Froyo you're running. See FAQ for more info.
My friend has a lg shine from telus with 2.1 update 1. Ive tried rooting with z4root and super one click. None of that worked. So i was wondering if there is any other way of doing it? Is there a way of doin it through odin or some other program like that? Any help is appreciated.

I was given a rooted phone and then recently through Kies, i upgraded to 4.1.2.
This obviously removed my rooted status!!
So i now want to re-root and was wondering before i do, has upgrading totally removed all the old root data(!)?
I'm a tech novice and was wondering should i use the S3 UNIFIED TOOLKIT program or use another method?
Someone told me i should not have been able to upgrade with Kies as my phone was rooted, is this true?
I have backed up everything using Titanium Backup
Thanks for ur help.
Just root it using any method you like
Hmm you had root to begin with? Kies doesn't update rooted phones.. as for rooting, there's an easy guide on the general forum you may wanna have a look at.

root using auto root with odin,,, fastest and easiest way
DO NOT USE TOOLKITS. They take away the learning process plus half of them are ****e anyway!

Try to root again, check 2nd post
Be happy
Make the root, it only loses the Samsung warranty, however leaves your phone the way you want. Install a custom ROM.
Thank you people. Now fully rooted and smiling
