[Q] how to sync IE bookmarks? - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

Is there a way to sync (or import) my PC IE bookmarks?

or Google Chrome?
i am sure there is an app for something like this out there...

I was using ChromeMarks on my previous phone, haven't done anything on the Atrix yet. I was _hoping_ Google would provide syncing to Chrome natively in the near future.

for cromemarks, it isnt automatic or daily.. you have to manually sync. i change things all the time (add and delete, etc)
or atleast thats how it was for me..

You could plug your USB cable into your computer. There seems to be a screen which lets you view & respond to text. There is an option to view your "bookmarks". So if you have your computer on, you can view your bookmarks in the background & update them on your phone using the computer screen.

Yes, as far as I know a program called discover pro allowed you transfer your files to your phone without a cable(via wifi), but I don't think it'll be recognized by iTunes...
Yet, hero doesn't need iTunes to sync music at all, you just copy your music to the folder and it'll find it.
Hope these may help.

Google Chrome: Bookmarks Question...

I've installed Chrome Beta and it seems pretty sweet. One of the reasons I installed it was, I want to be able to carry on from where I left off on my updated (desktop) bookmarks..when out on my mobile!
I've sync'd with my Chrome d'top bookmarks and all seemed great, but.... I've clicked Back-Back-Back and I'm now at Bookmarks>Mobile Bookmarks.... How the heck do I get back to my list of my Desktop bookmarks??
Can't for the life of me see how!!
Have you tried just putting your finger on "Bookmarks" > Mobile Bookmarks?
Press Bookmarks and itll show Desktop, Other and Mobile Bookmarks.
Sent from my GT-I9100
Yep....that's what I've been doing. I long press bookmarks and all I've got is 'mobile bookmarks' - nothing else. In chrome's settings on both on my phone and desktop pc, it's saying I'm signed in to gmail, but if click on other devices...there's nothing there (apart from some words telling me how great it is etc...)
Edit: NM....sorted it out by signing out on both desktop and phone - and then back in again. Doh!! Thx for your replies though

Chrome Beta

I order for me to sync my google account's bookmarks to Chrome Beta I need to leave the accounts&sync's Gmail account ON, as soon as I turn off the sync the bookmarks disappears (with ICS browser I don't need to leave the sync ON, the bookmarks saved to the browser).
Ok...
.. Super
my question is how can I save my bookmarks to Chrome beta?
someone?
I *think* sync needs to be kept on...
Why is that? The sync, in the ICS Browser, doesn't need to be turn on in order to see your bookmarks

Did you find a solution ?, same thing happens to my phone. Leaving the sync on will drain the battery right (I never use sync)
could anybody help? As you can see this problem occurs to other people as well.
Wait for an update to the beta maybe?
I don't think this is it.
what i did was to turn sync on but just uncheck everything in the accounts & sync tab, that way it only syncs google account and doesn´t drain the battery.
if you want to make it more specific, you can uncheck everything inside the google account but chrome so it uses even less resources.
cheers
there is no way in hell that you need to keep the sync ON in order to view your chrome bookmarks!
there must be a way to make it works like it does on the ICS browser

wierd bookmark issue after ota update, need assistance

So I did the ota update. All is well except that somehow every link from the favorites I have on my computer now show up as bookmarks. I go into edit bookmarks and it doesn't show all that stuff. So I erased all the bookmarks that were there. But all these links still show up if I put the bookmark widget on a page. I don't know how to get rid of these things.
Another issue, the stupid facebook app put everyone in my friends list into my contacts list and I don't know how to get rid of them with.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Any random issues like this can be solved by doing a factory reset. As you may or may not know, rooted users always do a full data wipe when flashing a different rom. This is because if you just update the system data (like an OTA update does) you will run into random issues like this.

Go into the settings of the Facebook app, and select Sync None. Or go into the People app settings, and uncheck Sync Facebook.
Did a factory reset and the bookmarts from my comp are still showing up if I use the bookmark widget. But if I actually goin to look at the bookmarks it shows nothing there. Is there possibly some kind of PC sync through google pulling these off my laptop?

Ahh sorry I read your first post wrong. That is normal with ICS, it's a feature that will automatically import any bookmarks and open tabs you have from Chrome on a PC. I'm really not sure how to disable this feature, I actually like it. I would assume it would be a setting on the PC side in Chrome, but I'm not sure.
Funny thing is that I don't use Chrome. I just have a gmail account. But anyways, I figured out what the issue was.
When you go through the setup and synching process after a factory reset the Google app does it. The key is to choose to sync everything manually instead of automatically. There's now an "Internet Sync" under the Google account in "Accounts & Sync". It is a neat feature but I have probably 500 or more links in my Favorites folder on my comp. That's a ton of links I don't need on my phone.

Hmm so it's not through Chrome? Then how is the GMail account pulling the bookmarks from the PC? I just assumed it was from Chrome since that's what I use on my pc. I also have a lot of bookmarks on my pc, which is a bit annoying, but it's nice if I'm away from my pc and need to pull up one of them. I wish there was a way to just have a separate bookmark folder for syncing with the phone.
It is through Chrome. I forgot that I tried Chrome for a day or two but didn't like it so uninstalled it. All that stuff got put into my gmail account when I did that.
If you signed into your gmail account all sync data is automatically sent to your phone, it's an easy way to backup all your contacts, makes my life so easy.

[Q] Simple gallery sync app for Galaxy S2

Hello guys, one of my friends has a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I am helping him to set up the phone to his needs. He used to have a bulletproof HTC Touch Pro, but since he switched to Android I feel that everytime we try to do something really simple and straight-forward we fail miserably or we spend so much time doing research and trying to find a solution, that we eventually give up in the end and think that our ideas are either ridiculous or there is no application on the market that can meet our expectations. This time we try to do a simple picture syncronisation like it used to be on the old WinMo devices - between a folder, containing all pictures on a PC and the built-in gallery on the smartphone. When you add a picture to the folder on the PC it gets automatically synced to the handheld and when you take a picture with the phone it gets copied to the folder on the computer. In the same way when you delete a picture on the phone it gets deleted on the PC and vice versa. All pictures on both devices must be available when there is no internet connection. We already tried the following solutions:
- Google Drive - pictures that are in the Drive are not listed in the phone's gallery, but in the GDrive app, which is inconvinient, as there is no preview and you must always be connected to internet to view all pics. Besides all that, even being connected with Wi-Fi it takes ages to load a picture properly. You can easily mark a picture to be accessible offline, but try doing that to 22GB of photos. We could not find a way to mark all photos automatically as available offline on adding. There is no two way sync between the gallery and Google Drive - when you delete a picture from the gallery it does not get deleted from the Drive and the other way around.
- Picasa - we tried to use it in addition to the Drive, but it gets even more compicated and laggy.
- Dropbox - there is no two way sync between the gallery on the phone and Dropbox gallery.
- SkyDrive - same here.
Are we missing something or these applications do not offer the features that we are looking for? Can you please recommend a product that does this job as it used to be done in the old days - fast and simple? I am very pleased with Microsoft Live Mesh which I am using to sync my documents folders between my PC, notebook and SkyDrive - it does all of the above brilliantly right up to the moment when you add an Android phone to the mix.
Thank you in advice for your responses!
You can use FolderSync similar programs
