2.1 rom on latest baseband - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Currently I am using the 2.2 rom, but cause of thr no camcorder problem I am thinking about backing up the 2.2 rom and using the 2.1 rom for when I feel the need to film. So my question is will 2.1 work with thr baseband used for 2.2? This may be a dumb question...

Good morning..
which baseband did you have now ??
regards

Yes it will work. I am "dual booting" (both roms backed up to restore whenever) freex10 beta 4 and SE's latest 2.1 firmware. Works like a charm, just remember which one is which! Make sure you have enough space on your microsd.

Or use videocam illusion app for recording on 2. 2

[Q] what's the difference between 2.0.2.A.0.24 & 2.1.A.0.435?

like the title says what's the difference between 2.0.2.A.0.24 & 2.1.A.0.435, If the differences are just between x10i and x10a, i'd like to know how to use custom ROMs that run on 2.1.A.0.435 for x10i. It really worries me to flash those custom ROMs on my existing 2.0.2.A.0.24.
with .435 you can install stable ROMs, Dualtouch etc.
There's not that much difference, except none of the mods for the earlier firmware work on .435.

435 Is the latest version and comes with dual touch already. If you're on benchmarks you will notice that the older firmware scores better but after i installed Beta4 2.2.1 it has surpassed 2.1

For everyone wondering there is absolutely no difference between x10i and x10a, it is simply a geographical initial

i have installed dual touch on my 2.0.2.A.0.24, so should i update to .435 or no point?
I wouldn't just yet... If you've already installed the dt kernel there's not really any advantage yet.

I'd use 2.2.1 if it was stable, cuz I kinda use every inch of my phone ;P, i live in singapore and flashing a global ROM like the stick in android dev sect would cause my phone to lose network operator search functionality, so i kinda took a scenic route by changing the build.prop and run SEUS. now my phone is running on cyanogen with benchmark of 1.1k ^^

[Q] need help flashing multy touch

x10a
update 2.2update1
kernal ver. 2.6.29
build#2.1.a.045
When i download x10_1.0_Bin4ry_dual touch and extract there is no ftf. file is that why when i flash there is an error ?
no need to reply, i don't know how to remove thread or i would
Your version says 2.2. Are you running a ROM or did u put down 2.2 instead of 2.1 by mistake. SE didnt release 2.2 firmware. Just want the facts right so i can help or others can help.
Sent from XDA Premium from my X10a rooted running 2.2.1 CM Rom from Rendeiro2005
2.2 comes with dual touch in most roms

Miui rom froyo

Hi I was wondering if someone could point me to a fully working miui froyo rom. If there isn't one then can someone port one from the other galaxy phones or from the nexus one. Thanks in advance

You're not going to get any froyo cm or miui roms, only gb. That's just the way it is.
And, GPS doesn't work on froyo cm/miui roms either. Also, all development on froyo cm/miui has ceased across all phones and in their place is the respective gb versions.

The only reason I wanted a froyo build because the gb version installation seems risky and I don't want to Odin or anything. I just want to have a gb rom that doesn't force you to Odin.

There's plenty of Froyo roms around here to pick from, no MIUI or CM7 though. That ships already sailed for those guys.
EDIT: And you really need to know how to Odin. Even when jumping through Froyo roms eventually you'll have to Odin to clear things up.

The Vibrant CM7 installation is now no more risky than any other rom. Very easy to flash. You can get one of the nightlies and flash through rom manager. I would not go above #8 yet though since those have call audio issues that need to be worked out.

I know how to use Odin but I hate how you have to clear up all the internal storage. I find it easier to just flash it through cwm. Will we still have to flash the bootloaders if and when the official 2.3 release comes to the vibrant
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
What? Odin doesn't touch your internel sdcard nor does it touch your external sdcard.
Also, the froyo cm and miui had way less working, and required some Odin to get it working.
As for 2.3 bootloaders, I'm sure you will have to because after hearing revs dissect the i9k gb roms and source, seems some initialization calls have been moved into the bootloader (i.e. gpu initialization has Ben moved to bootloader)

Fed up

Im tired of waiting i have an x10a im going to flash gb already, what should i do? Flash stock and wait for root? Or search for that pre-rooted stock ive heard about?
Ive read about the wb rom but i dont want to miss any features of the stock(sorry if i dont know, noob at the whole custom rom stuff?.
But i had my 2.1 rooted and i loved it(specially the ability to control cpu usage)
Sent from my x10a(still running 2.1 sadly) using XDA app
Root is already out for gb
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Oh thats good, so it would be better to flash stock and root, but i just heard(read) so many good things about the wb rom im undecided, what features of stock would i be missing with wb?
Sent from my x10a(still running 2.1 sadly) using XDA app
If you look at wb Rom it comes with the gingerbread baseband to flash if you already have root on 2.1 you dont need to upgrade to stock gingerbread flash the Rom dont reboot then flash the baseband then reboot gingerbread with root and xrecovery

Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Thanks for the instructions, i want to know what will i lose if i use wb rom, i want all the features( or most of them) of stock rom
Sent from my x10a(still running 2.1 sadly) using XDA app
Most of the roms are stock especially wb just added stuff such as bravia engine and xloud increasing you music and ringtones you will also get panoramic camera app very fast been using mine for a week very stable
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Im undecided on what to try the pre rooted stock or wb? Damn
Sent from my x10a(still running 2.1 sadly) using XDA app
i'm also x10a originally but there's absolutely nothing wrong in flashing a x10i, looks like baseband 71 works on all regions.
Yay now running gb, feels like a new phone(at least on-screen)
Sent from my x10a"i"(running pre-rooted 2.3.3) thanks doomlord:-D
If you don't want to miss anything, don't use custom ROM. Just root to delete unneed apps and xRecovery to install plugin. It works perfect.

[Q] stock froyo rom for x10

i want a stock froyo rom for x10 , i already tried freexperia but the video is not working and cant work with custom kernel, is there another froyo rom
Sent from my X10x using XDA App
There is the gwneric one. Why froyo? Z released a functional and stable froyo. Use the search mode. Sorry
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Why froyo? Fully working Gingerbread was released, and absolutely better than froyo.
And there is no stock froyo, since SE not release froyo based ROM.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
thank u
i thought froyo was very smooth, and the best android version, gingerbread needs more hardware, and by saying "stock froyo" i dont want the SE stuff on it, just one like freexperia, it was very good but only the kernel didnt seem to work
