Honeycomb boot animation - myTouch 4G Themes and Apps

And anyways, I found the cause of the white flashing. The thumbs.db file was the problem. Here is links to the bootanimation from the Vibrant thread but without the thumbs.db file:

Take the bootanimation.zip and copy/move it to your /system/media folder. Make sure you change the r/w to ro (top right if using root explorer) not sure with file mananger, this suould be the way if you have cm6 - cm7 rom.
Thanks to linknight & Mrdaviso for thier contribute.

can you post here, not a registered user for that site.

i just made a username there. but ill have to wait to get home to do it. mediafire wont let me load it from my phone.

i cant download it!!!!

The frames are in portrait orientation so they are really scrunched up. Someone on the Vibrant forums made a landscape mode that looks awesome, but it doesn't work right because for some reason there is a white frame that flashes everytime the animation loops.
Here is the Vibrant thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968410
The landscape version is on the bottom of the page. If someone here could fix the looping issue, that would be awesome since I can't figure it out. I even posted a video of it on the 2nd page.

This is the same animation except for the bee in the begining.
Just checked: My animation looks like that without the white flashing.

Yes, the OP on the Vibrant forums is the same animation without the bee, but if you scroll to the bottom of the first page there is the landscape version that looks much better, but there is white flashing when I use that one (at least for me)

Ok, how does it look better with white flashing?

I never said it looked better with the white flashing. The landscape one looks better because the animation fits the screen better, but the landscape one has the white flashing, which is a bad thing.

Maybe I'm mixing the portrait/landscape names up, but the one posted in this thread looks worse than the one in the vibrant page on the bottom of pg 1. Its scrunched up compared to the other one, but the other one gives me the white flashes.

If you downloaded the one in this thread, then it is not the same as mine from the video. Here is the quote of the version I'm using from the Vibrant thread:

The above versions look better, but they cause the white flashes. This is the one I used for the video I posted.

Same animations as ApeX on ANY ROM

**UPDATE**
I came across this http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...-window-animations-stock-rom.html#post1058483 over at droid forums. I love the new ApeX ROM that Fabolous made for the DX and ported to the D2. But, what I really love about it are the animations. Well, this works on any ROM, and the link will show you how. Im running Fission 2.2.2 with these animations Fabolous made, and I love it. Check it out..
I came across more transition animations over in the D1 forums. I am using these right now with fission, they are more dramatic than the other ones but still cool none the less... http://www.droidforums.net/forum/koush/104329-miui-style-window-transitions-cm-6-1-a.htmlThey are in a framework.res apk for a D1, I pulled them to make it easier to install, just unzip the file. You can use it with any rom, just like the others.
Ok, here is a direct link to johnclevenger's post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9391661&postcount=1 , There is a few more choices for animations there, as well as some pretty detailed instructions. Also, if you want to just add it to a rom or theme you are gonna flash, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9933395&postcount=31 is the instructions how to do so. Enjoy!
Nice find dude! Thanks for this!

I figured out how to add it right into the framework of a rom, or a theme. Its cool. Ill probably never be without it
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
I think I did something wrong. I added it and some of them work but not all of them. For example when I go into the settings menu and hit back, it just does the default animation rather than the flip and fly out.
i have the fission themes with these animations built in but i dont know the rules about posting other peoples work. all you would have to do is flash them in recovery. anyone care to let me know how to go about doing this? ill pm angdroid and see if it would be ok to post them.

This is very very nifty, one of the the one things I wanted really bad from ApeX. Thanks a lot for alerting me to this
hey, cool ... i really like this .. this is one of the reasons i liked apex. another was that i could use the nextheme theme w/it... sadly, it didn't have the speed or battery life of the fission!
now if we could get nextheme theme w\fission 2.3.1, along w/this fly-in anim ...Now, that would be Super!

That's actually what I've done. Most recently I've flashed 2.3.1 and NexTheme and actually replaced the anim folder on BOTH and with both still had the same issue. Every animation works, except when I press the back button to get back to the homescreen. Maybe there isn't supposed to be any animation there but I thought it was in the video that was posted.
There is actually different animation packages, this is just one fab put toogether. In the thread I linked there is a link to that thread...whew, that was a mouthful there is no animation when backing out of the app drawer with the one that's posted

Nooo, not the app drawer. Here I'll tell you what I do:
Code:
Click settings icon on home screen,
Press the Back soft key.
In that order, lol. If you open Settings and then press back does anything happen?
Nope, nothing happens. I never really noticed. I think he picked the right animations though, this package isnt overkill like most of the DX roms. Some of those roms have 5 transitions per screen...
Ok perfect, thats what I was trying to figure out. Then...no issues for me

[MOD/TOOL] PushBoot for the Evo 3D. V1.0 (8/1/11)

Well, with the Evo 3D comes root, and with root comes S-Off, and with that comes custom roms and themes. So here is pushboot for the Evo 3d.
What it does: easily changes your boot animation and powerdown animation through windows.
Remember to start you need:
-HTC Drivers installed
-A working bootanimation.zip and/or power down animation
-Your phone plugged in to the usb port (lol)
-Only ONE .zip in each folder (clearly labeled.)
Other than that, I included everything needed to make this work.
Any issues let me know and I can try to help you out!
And leave feedback and if you like this, press the thanks button on this post =D
As things change, I will update the best I can.
8/1/11 updateV1.0 released
added option to send to /data/local
added option to send to /system/media
added some other small changes inside the .bat
Nice job. Will be trying it soon
All out of thanks today, as soon as I get some back you will be getting a nice cool crisp one!

Doesnt matter what its called with pushboot. you can put it in the folder and call the zip makeitfail.zip and it will work.
Pushboot changed the zip's name to what it needs to be.
Not all bootanimations are put together right, and that will result in a black screen.
Thank you for this...... it will be a time saver.

I did this because I like to have it open when flashing roms. Really easy to send to recovery, and as soon as the new rom is flashed change your boot animation right away. I originally made it for myself to make things go faster =P

Follow the instructions on this page to see how to install the bootanimation on your phone. I did not make it a flashable zip because I am learning how to use SignApk as we speak.
Follow the instructions on this page to see how to install the splash image. Personally, I used the fastboot method, but you have to make sure the fastboot.exe is in the platform-tools directory of your SDK for it to work.
