[Q] My Xperia S bricked!

After using recovery and install a new kernel ( seems not compatible ) after choose reboot to system option my Xperia S didn't function anymore and I couldn't able to use keys to reset or power on my phone.
I try all of combination of keys but nothing
I put in charging more than 8 hour but nothing ( only first solid RED led appeared and after hours it goes off and when try to charge another time it did the same )
when I connect to PC the flashtool shows it connected with debugging off and do nothing.
I can't go on flash mode or fast mode to reinstall again.
would some one help me to how can I bring my phone in live. ( I haven't a repair sony service in my town )
Have you tried what I said?

What did you said?
It's not bricked, one of my Xperia S phones did this to me on multiple occasions. The first time i just let it charge over night, or until the solid red LED turned to solid orange LED. The patience waiting for it to turn to an orange LED is the key here i noticed after it happening several times, interrupt it each time and it may as well be bricked through lack of patience.
Thread moved to Q & A section, kindly post in the relevant section next time.
3x vibe

HELP!!!Xperia u Bricked!!!

Hey guys im in a lot of trouble right now. I have bricked my device and im not sure if i will be able to restore it back. Im not worried about the data in the device anymore,i just want my device booting back into any OS possible!!
Here's what happened,i was flashing the stock firmware of the device through flashtool. The process was about half done. All of a sudden my device fell down from my computer desk. The cable got disconnected and the device doesn't boot anymore.Any solutions to make it boot back up? Please help...
Hello there
When you connect your XU to PC with volume buttons pressed, Does the LED light up?
I hope you just made a soft brick to your phone, not Hard Brick.
When i connect the device a green flash comes up for like a microsecond and thats it.Then the device is as good as dead. The same thing happens when i connect the device to the pc,a momentary flash of green light and then back to dead...When i connect the device by holding the vol up button, the same thing happens.. only with a blue coloured flash of light. The device is not recognised by sony pc companion either.

If you are on stock then try factory resetting your phone through stock recovery.
If the above process didn't work, try to flash stock ftf through flashtool.
And if you are rooted, try clean flashing ROM through custom recovery.

connect the phone to charger for few hours and let it be so that it charges for sometime. then after that press the power button and volume up button for few seconds till it vibrates a few times and connect to flashtool when it asks to connect and flash. if this works let us know. definitely your phone is not bricked if sony logo is coming. dont worry.

when the phone is in the charger all it does is bring up the sony logo which can't be turned off , and there is no orange led light indicating charging , the phone heated after 10 minutes in the charger ....is it charging even though the led isn't turning on ? i fear if i leave it in the charger it might get overheated for nothing

Try the same procedure on win7
(Flashtool may not work on win8 and above)
If you are already on win7 try uninstalling BlueStacks, Youwave, VirtualBox etc (if you have them).
If everything above didn't work, try installing latest essential drivers and latest flashtool.
Unluckily if you still have the same problem then try downloading and flashing ftf from different servers.
Hope you do it well

i guess its charged enough even if its not showing the led light for charging. its never working on the sony logo part of bootup. try connecting it to flashtool like the way i said. and please make sure you have all the drivers installed beforehand. if you had ever run it earlier then all drivers will be present. let us know.
dont worry about windows. i'm using it on win8 without any problem. just take care of drivers.
Thanks guys....i have tried another laptop with installing all the drivers, then i put the phone in the charger for 15 mins , and flashed an ftf through flashtool and it is booting up normally as we speak !

That's normal, the device has to be calibrated for the first time when you connected it to the computer.
And not charging in flash mode is yet no more than normal.

what abut the usb port thats inside the phone it self..you can easly test it by any maintenance friend with avo-meter
edit: can you enter the recovery menu?
try this...
Power off your device.
Boot in recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up and Power Button at the same time.
Release all buttons when the Sony Xperia neo L screen flickers and in a few seconds the Recovery screen will appear.

idk about the usb port I will try that, but it responds when put it in charging (only red led blinking). and no recovery mode, while pressing the power button the red led blinks 3times then no more response happens, and I tried to charge it in a whole day after 2hr a light showed in the screen and it happened frequently. No more responses from phone.
