Is my Mozart bricked? - 7 Mozart General

Well I got adventurous (read foolish) this morning and I tried to flash my orange uk mozart with an unbranded rom floating around. It started, got to 11% and stalled. Now every time I power on the mozart it is stuck on the boot loader. I could not even get to the usb host to use goldcard anymore.
It appeared as if the only solution for now is getting a proper orange-uk rom or is there any other solution. Please help. Thank you.

Anyone? Please help me!

As long as you can get to the tri color screen you should be ok, just flash the proper ROM back on.
You might find it in the Mozart forum by ansar.

I have the same issue as you, using a debrand kit from fonefunshop and now my phone is stuck in USB host mode displaying "Enter USB Host Mode...".
Did you manage to resolve your issue? If so how?

Sorry to hear about your problem. I used a gold card with the european rom posted by Football to resolve it. Give it a go.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App

Problem Solved!
Here are the steps I took to resolve the issue I was having, with the Mozart stuck at bootloader, "Enter USB Host...".
First I formatted the SD-card, then used my brothers Android phone with ASTRO File Manager to extract the CID code from the SD card.
1. Insert the SD card into the Android phone
2. Start the ASTRO File Manager
3. Navigate to sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:aaaa (instead of aaaa there could be something else as well)
4. Long press on the 'cid'-file
5. First select Open as, then Text
6. Then select File-Editor
7. Write down the number 1 to 1 onto your PC/Mac
Once I had the CID code, I used http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard to generate & email me the goldcard image file.
I formatted the SD card at this point, FAT32, 4096 sector size.
I then used HxD Hex Editor and Disk Editor to copy the goldcard.img into the first sector the SD card.
Heres how:
1. Run HxD as Adminstrator
2. Open the SD card by going to Extras > Open Disk > Physical Disks (important) > Removable Drive. Make sure Open as Read only is unchecked.
3. Open the goldcard.img by going to Extras > Open Disk Image.
4. From the goldcard.img, Select All and Copy all bytes.
5. Paste into the first 384 bytes of the SD card - offset(h) 0x0 - 0x170.
Next I copied a European ROM on the the SD card (in explorer as you would with any file) and rename it to MOZAIMG.nbh
With the Y-cable I booted the phone and to my disbelief it started and successfully reflashed the phone.

SX56, problem during rom update

Hi
Started program - found SX56. Message "Upgrading - will take about 5 minutes"
on pda. Then it said that it had a problem with the USB or COM connection, and
to fix it in device manager. I opened Device Manager, and checked that all the
USB and COM ports were enabled, which they were.
By this time, the unlock software and ActiveSync had stopped running. The pda
was still stuck on the "Upgrading - will take about 5 minutes" screen. Since
the configuration has changed, ActiveSync will no longer recognize the device,
and will not sync with it. Your software will not connect until ActiveSync does.
All that comes up is the "Upgrading - will take about 5 minutes" screen. there
is no other functionality to the system.Hard or soft resets make no difference.
Active Sync doesn't work. The PDA has changed its configuration, so active
Sync doesn't recognize it. When I plug it in, Active Sync sees something, but
can't even tell that it is a pda, and I can't even set up a new connection with
it. let alone use the old connection.
Can anyone help? is there a way i can reinstall active sync or is there another way to fix it? please help
You will need xdatools, sd card, card reader/writer and rom file from kitchen for sd card flashing. Unzip the rom after download, start xdatools on your pc, choose the unzipped rom file as source and the drive letter for your sd card as destination from drop down menu, once the card is programmed insert sd card to phone, push reset while holding power, when prompted you then push the action key which is centre of 4 way rocker buttons. Once flashed push the unscrewed stylus into hole next to headphone socket, push once only, wait one minute push once more, this will work as long as you dont have a problematic version of bootloader on your phone. Good luck.
System is entirely backed up onto SD card. Can't use SD card. Can't use PDA.
PDA is still stuck on "ugrading - will take about 5 minutes". It apparently has
no operating system in ROM. No difference with hard or soft reset - comes back
to same screen, no function in PDA.
HELP PLEASE
I think you misunderstood, a normal backup is no good, you need to program an sd card with a new rom, when this is placed in your xda and soft reset it should reprogram your phone with a new rom. You are correct when you say it has no rom, the method I described should restore your phone to a working machine. You do not need a rom to reprogram using bootloader/sd card method, try it and see.
You will need xdatools, sd card, card reader/writer and rom file from kitchen for sd card flashing.

Okay, so can I basically use the newest ROM which also unlock the device too?
You will need to use either xda developers special edition rom to unlock or include the unlock program from the kitchen in a 2002 rom, you can then upgrade to wm2003 if you wish, you cannot unlock under wm2003 so you must use special edition or kitchen rom based on 2002 first.
I am sorry if i keep asking you questions.
I do have the xda special rom, ive tryed using it but it caused the problem i do have right now.
i did download xdatools by jeff. i cannot run them though.
Could you describe step by stef of what i need to do.
i.e. do i need a complete NEW ROM, or can i just transfer the xda special rom to my SD card and then run it to restore my device?
But i guess not, else you wouldnt have explained what i need to do.
Thats the error i get when i try to run xdatools. (I dont understand the install note)
"INSTALLATION
From the source + exe distribution copy OsImageTool.exe and itsutils.dll
to the programme A directory as created by unpacking
jeff's-exe (http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/XDA/) to a directory in
your "Program Files" directory. Then run 'OsImageTool --register'."
IF you unzip the files you already have both of those files in the folder.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
You have to install ActiveSync.
You can get it diretcly from Microsoft for free....

. I was able to locate the NK.nbf file. I ran the XDA OS image tool, to put the OS on the sd card, from the NK file. That apparently succeeded, but it is hard to tell. After loading the OS, when I take out the sd card, then put the sd card back into the sd card reader, it can no longer read the sd card. I can format the sd card again, using my camera, so the sd card is not destroyed.
Wher I put the sd card in the SX56, there is no problem, but there is no success.
Pushing soft reset alone does nothing. Pushing the power button alone does not turn the machine on or off, and does nothing.
Pushing power and soft reset at the same time, gets me the “Wallaby Bootloader V5.15” screen. It first says “wait”, and then says “GSM OK”. It then does nothing else, and doesn’t prompt me to do anything else. If I push the action button, I get “DIAGNOSTICS GPRSA 20324e4”. From there, I can scroll up and down, and test the RAM, Display, battery, USB, etc – all items tested seem OK. There is nowhere to go from here – all it does is test the pieces.
After that, if I push the hard reset (the one that disconnects the battery), the power goes off, and the screen is dark. This is the only way to turn the machine off at the moment. If I push hard reset again, it comes up with a screen full of lines, with two blank holes in it (see attached file). From there, none of the buttons do anything, except hard reset (which turns the machine off again), or soft reset + power, which brings up the bootloader screen again.
have the siemens ROM. It will not work with the cradle, because it cannot find the pda if Activesync can’t make a connection, and loading it onto the SD card does nothing new – both results are exactly the same as with what described above.
any suggestions?

Major Problem with XDA

Hi all, first post from an XDA newbie - be gentle!!
I've inherited an 02 XDA from my brother as it's not working & he's upgraded.
I'm trying desperately to get this thing to work. He installed the xda-developers Special Edition ROM V1.2 (according to the front screen - it says in red in the bottom corner 3.17.83 , it also has a red G and R above this)
It doesn't seem to hold a charge very long, which suggests the internal battery is dead. I've read about the light in the top right corner of the unit - I've never seen this lit except once when it went red for a few seconds.
When its sat in the cradle, it seems to work ok. I've checked the Version etc, and it reads:
ROM 3.17.03 ENG
ROM Date: 5.15.03
Radio Version:
Protocol:
I want to reinstall the XDA ROM to see whether it works with the "official" ROM.
I've tried to do a soft reset, I get the stripey screen with WALLABY BootLoader V5.22. After the WAIT sign, I get GSM ERROR, which ties in with the above Version Info in that there is no Radio Version number?
When I press the Action key, I see GSM turn ON Please Wait - then after waiting I get GSM turn ON fail!!
Can anyone tell me how to do the following:
1) Get the official operating system from the o2 website onto an SD Card
2) Get the XDA to boot from the new operating system
I can see from the 02 website that there are 2 downloads, RUU and RSU. I guess one is the OS and one is the radio unit (gsm settings??)
I have a laptop with SD Card reader built in, and a blank 256mb SD Card.
I apologise for the length of this posting, but I have no idea what I'm doing really! Any advice / help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Steve
PS - also tried a hard reset, but first press switches off the unti, and it stays off after the second press - HELP!!!!
YOur GSM Part is corrupt.
Flashing a new ROM wouldn't solve the problem....
Try this:

Stefan
thanks Stefan.
I read the link, how do I install the ROM to the XDA unsing SD Cardreader & Bootloader?
Sorry for the obvious questions - I appreciate your help!
Steve
this is just rom though not radiostack
Ok here you go, its a little outdated but its what I still use:
Qman's how to use XDArit to write nk.nb1 or nk.nbf to your SD card aka the Bootloader Method!
1. Place XDArit and the nk.nb1 or nk.nbf file in the same folder and start XDArit.
2. Select your SD card (disk drive) from the drop down menu.
3. Select Write to SD
Notice that the Windows CE box is already checked so just click the browse button at the end of that window.
4. Select your (nk.nb1 or nk.nbf) image and then Open
Notice by default XDArit will open looking for a *.nb1 file but if you're going to use a .nbf file you'll have to manually change the "Files of Type" to *.nbf
Notice that nk.nbo / nk.nbo was automatically added as your boot-loader and its check box is unchecked so leave it that way and click OK. XDArit should start writing to the card.
When XDArit has finished writing the image put the SD-card into the XDA and hold the power button and soft reset. You'll be taken to the below screen:
SD DOWNLOAD
Card Type:
CE OS & BOOT
Press action to Download
Or
Press REC to Exit
Press action to download and it will start the download/restore from the SD card.
Follow the on screen instructions once its "Completed" which will consist of a "Soft Boot/Reset".

Thanks guys, you've been really helpful.
I'll report back when I've tried to do all this stuff.
One more question - I've only got a 64Mb SD Card, is that big enough?
ALSO - in the instructions it says "Select your Rom Image from the Source drop down menu. "
Which file is the ROM image?
nk.nb1 or nk.nbf
and yes 64MB should be enough
The mystery deepens -
I've put the SD Card in the card reader, but when I use XDATools, i can't select the SD Card as the destination for the ROM image file.
I click on the Removable "E" drive in the Explorer style layout, but it's almost like the tool is wantingme to select something, but i don't know what!
FYI, the SD card already has some data on it ( I took it out of my Dads Digital camera!) Could this be the problem?
Thanks

Flashing from SD: A Success Tale

I've just finished successfully flashing an unofficial WM6.1 ROM to my StarTrek (Cingular 3125) using only a microSD card (no data cable, no ActiveSync, no Windows) and the brilliant work found on this forum. I thought I would share the details of my success in the hopes that it will help the next person who stops by, since I myself found it difficult to find a definitive yes/no on the matter here.
Requirements:
HTC StarTrek
I had the Cingular ROM; Any should work.
microSD card
IMPORTANT: Your card MUST be using FAT32 for this to work. If it is not already so, back up its data and do this now. (Windows will show a FAT16 volume simply as "FAT".)
AppUnlock tool
The one linked at this post is good. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1146363
The ROM you wish to flash
I used the WM6.1 Standard ROM posted here by Erofich, since it is most appropriate for a Smartphone such as the StarTrek. You can also use the Professional version, though it is intended for use with a touch screen, so you will have to control a cursor with physical keys.
A computer you can use to extract and place these files onto the microSD card.
After you've obtained the listed files and have them extracted somewhere on your computer, copy the following files to your microSD:
SurrealNetworksAppUnlock.cab (Anywhere)
The entire SSPL directory from your extracted ROM download. (Anywhere)
RUU_signed.nbh, found within the RUU directory of your ROM download. (Rename this to STARIMG.NBH and place it in the top-most level of your microSD card, not inside a folder.)
Insert the microSD into the device (the door is located beneath the SIM card). Using the File Explorer (or Total Commander, if you have it), move or copy the three contents of the SSPL directory from your Storage Card to the top level (/) of your phone.
Find the SurrealNetworksAppUnlock.cab file on the Storage Card and run it. It should install like any other application, and you will notice a change to your Home Screen wallpaper.
Using File Explorer again, navigate to the top level (/) of your phone and run SPL.lnk (36 bytes, if this helps you distinguish which file to select). If all goes as expected, you will see a white screen, followed by a message telling you to press the top Volume button to proceed. Do this, and it will flash your new OS to the phone.
I hope I've offered a clear and helpful explanation of this process. Enjoy your now-renascent StarTrek!
Special thanks to Corian for helping me troubleshoot, to #xda-devs, and to all content authors involved here.
Funny, I was planning on re-flashing my 3125 via SD card, but I could not find where I left the instructions. I did it many times a few months ago while trying many ROMs, but I could not recall the exact procedure. Then I come to XDA-Devs to search for the info again and find your post sitting there right on top. Thanks, you saved me lots of time.
I'm currently using Erofich's (pArtizAn's) 6.1 standard ROM as well, but wanted to try out Erofich's PRO version for kicks, and maybe retry GnatGoSplat's clean ROM (I found I'm not using Mobile Office , which the Clean ROM leaves out.)
Ideally, I wish there was a way to install certain WM-Pro only applications on WM-Standard, so that I don't need to change to a touch screen centric OS just for a few applications.
BTW, anyone find and use the HTC Network Setup tool to configure the phone for use with U.S. AT&T service. I want to avoid having to manually set up the data settings.
Freakin awesome, works like a charm, now I can flash my phone with the broken charging/sync port. Many thanks...
Hello. I done all steps of this instruction, but can't flash because the message which invite you to press volume button does not appear...
You should repeat the instructions very carefully. Are you sure your SD card is FAT32-formatted, rather than just FAT (FAT16)?

[Q] I messed up, total noob!! Plz help?

Okay, I was able to install the HSPL to 2.08. By the way I was on T-mobile stock Win 6.5. I installed MAGLDR 1.13 and I verified bothh are installed. When I tried to load NAND Android, could not find the loader.exe or daf.exe to install. I have a phone right now in the bootloader menu. I just want to go back to Win Mo 6.5, I downloaded stock from T-mobile website, but the PC does not recognize the device (has it as MAGLDR device). I would really appreciate any help that you could give. I have searched the forums for this topic, can't seem to find a solution that works. When I tried to install WinMo 6.5 it says it could not communicate with my device (only way I can even see it is to select USB mass storage in bootloader menu). USB flash says USB, but nothing happens. Windows device manager doesn't recogniz device either.
I will never attempt this again, and thanks again for any help you can give.
okay, things should turn out okay.
if you want to proceed with nand:
* When your phone Reboots it will Enter the MAGLDR Boot Menu Screen *
1. Press the 'Volume Down' button to goto Option 5: USB Flasher and press the 'Call' button (far left of the 5 hardware buttons at the bottom)
2. The menu will enter Android Flasher mode and install usb drivers if not present
3. Browse to the folder you extracted your NAND Android Package files to on your pc, right click on Run DAF.exe (or Install.exe if DAF.exe isnt present) and select Run as Administrator
4. Read ALL the text and then select 'Next'
5. Read the information and select 'Next'
6. The installer will now detect USB and then flash your Android Rom to NAND
* You can follow this progress on your Phones Screen *
7. When flashing is complete your phone will Reboot and proceed to boot Android from NAND

for an example of a daf rom use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917590
from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
to return to wm:
flash rom from sd card:
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.

Do this cut your phone off then cut it back on by holding the volume down button and momentaraly holdind thd power(end) button. When the tri color bootloader comes up plug your phone into the USB cable and wait for the white bar at the bottom of the phone screen to say USB ans then run the update utility for the T-Mobile ROM.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I think I am going to go back to 6.5. When I went to the folder I xtracted for android, I could not find a run.exe or install/ It loaded three files, boot, system, and some other file. None of them had those listed in the files. Like I said, I shouldn't have even attempted it.
Now, when I flas back to WinMo, will it only be on the SD card?
were those three wrapped in a .zip when you downloaded them? sounds like you may have a zip nand rom, but are following daf nand instructions.
got a rom filename for us?

three folders, not files, system, boot and meta-inf.
You unzipped a zip nand rom, then followed daf nand rom instructions.

No you will just be using the Sd card to flash the ROM if you go the SD card rout, and by the way when you are done flashing your phone you can remove that file from your SD. Flashing with the SD card is just a easier and safer way of flashing seing as the only thing that could go drastically wrong is the battery die or you remove the SD card while the flash is in progress. Also flashing from SD takes a littke longer too.
Edit: You well lose HSPL and MAGLD by using the SD card method.
You are right! Unfortunately I got frustated with it and I deleted the files. Here ia the one I tried [23.FEB.11][ZIP][LEO512][LEO1024]CMYLXGOs Stock Desire HD(2)[RUU1.84][RAFPIGNA 1.7OC]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like ALL IS well when download the stock. Thaks T-macgnolia! Actually thanks everyone! My husband thanks you as I didn't destroy his phone.
Okay, last thing I hope. I was able to get 6.5 up and running. Everything works except the battey will not charge. (the little charging icon does not show up in the status bar on top) The battery ia down to 2 percent, when I plug it in the battery goes to full and the led light blinks red, then green all the time. I pulled the battery to reset, doesn't help. What did I do?
Oops, flashing light indicates faulty battery or battery charging circuits. Check battery pins aren't a little bent, perhaps borrow a battery from friend / shop and see if it still happens.

Attempt to return to WM 6.5 and error "loading ..."

Hi, I will describe your problem in a new topic, because I see that it is broader.
Well, on Friday I bought a HTC HD2 wgranym WM 7 Unfortunately, this system will not even suitable to use, so I decided to upload, and in fact you go back to WM 6.5. I found the forum two ways by dropping LEOIMG.nbh file directly to memory card and a second by installing ROM when connected to a PC.
I bought a memory card reader and format the card. I threw the downloaded file from here: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! Do not give it any more with this phone .... Charter installed a phone and pressing the handset, which is used to activate the phone and the VOL DOWN I switched to a mode. First there was a color screen with the specified data to HD2, but then came the white screen that says "loading ..." and nothing happened for an hour. Perhaps this file does not match my HD2, or he do not know.
The second method seemed to me an alternative and downloaded from the official HTC ROM, giving the serial number. Was surprised that it was a ROM for Norway. I do not know well past the phone, so I do not exclude the possibility that the phone is from Norway. I downloaded the ROM, I downloaded the ActiveSync. But I do not know why when you plug the phone activesync can not connect with them. He writes the message "The device was not detected. " I wanted to try and install without ActiveSync, but the installation failed.
I have no strength, like I'm doing everything ok, but I can not fix this for anything WM 7
Sorry for language errors, I used google translate to translate.
Any help thanks in advance.
okay first of all, if your using windows 7 then you dont need activesync. You need "Windows Media Device Centre"
Also, try turning on the phone whilst holding the volume down button. That should take you to bootloader. (3 colour screen).
You should see the word "serial" at the bottom of the screen.
Connect via USB and wait for the drivers to install.
The word "Serial" should then change to "USB".
Then you can flash a ROM via USB. If your phone is network branded then you will need to flash the correct ROM from the HTC site.

You need to take that official ROM, rename it from .exe to .zip, and extract the LEOIMG.nbh file. Place this file in the root directory of your SD card and then go into bootloader like before. This will flash the stock ROM onto your device. Make sure the SD card is fairly low capacity, 2 or 4 GB seems to work best, and formatted for fat32.
Good luck!

The easiest way to reflash is using SD Card method.
If you dont have HSPL installed, you should only use this SD Card method to flash the Correct Stock ROM.
Download your correct stock ROM (you must be sure about this, in order to avoid failure). Ectract the downloaded correct stock ROM using 7zip or Winrar. Find the file named: RUU_signed.nbh and rename it to : leoimg.nbh. Place/copy that file to the root directory of your micro sd card (using card reader). For better result, before doing that, you may format your sd card to FAT 32, and copy only that file for flashing purposes only.
Now, put your sd card back to the phone. Go into bootloader mode (by pressing volume down and power on buttons at the same time). Follow the onscreen instruction. Dont forget, to charge your batter before flashing.
goodluck
Thank you all for your responses. I still have one request to you. The set did not get the CD with drivers for HD2. Has anyone can link to them? Thank you in advance.

The Windows Mobile Devive Center has the drivers for the HD2 in it. So when you download the program and install it to your computer you have the drivers. Go to microsoft.com/getstarted to get the WMDC program.
