I was running mik's CM7 on my LG P500. I tried flashing Clockwork recovery from CM (stupidly, cause I already had one!) But then during reboot it got stuck in LG logo. I couldnt even boot to recovery. I could only access emergency mode. Tried to install Clockwork recovery using lgdmp, and now device doesn't say a thing !!
No response on power button. Tried pulling out battery and putting it back. Tried back+vol up+power and connected to usb, home+vol dn+power.. Nothing happens. Does not display anything. Not even the button LEDs light up. Doesn't get detected in PC. Is this a "hard brick".. if so please help !!
Please help !

hi i have a samsung galaxy s2 GT-i9100. i am from singapore (if region matters). i updated to the official DXLP9 4.0.3 whatchamacallit version (via the automatic update service) less than a week ago, but i didnt like it for various reasons, of which a very unsatisfactory battery life was the one i couldnt stand the most.
so i went to flash the DXKL3 2.3.6 stock rom (with odin 1.85) as i thought it would be enough to revert my phone back to the old version.
BUT i was grossly wrong. my phone now hangs at the start-up screen, and ONLY at the start-up screen. and by startup screen, i mean a black screen with white text saying "galaxy s2 gti9100" on it.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHATS WRONG somebody please help me. :/
i suppose its bricked? so is there any way i can get it working again? preferably without wiping my data please.
i apologise if im breaking rules or anything by doing this but im really really desperate for my phone to work again so please help/make an exception or somehing thank you very much and in advance to any kind soul who responds.
Did u wipe ur phone before flashing it n after flashing??? try this may b this will work first wipe ur cell than flash GB through Odin
ics to GB without data wipe, don't think so
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
OK you can try to go into recovery if you are root by pressing volume up+home+power key , if you aren't and install other rom via recovery, if you aren't root you can go into download mood by pressing volume down+home+power key and also flash another rom using Odin
I think it may be soft brick because your phone responded to the power key and show you start up screen
Best regards

I have been visiting this site ever since I first read about X10 & was fascinated by it (I have always loved SE phones). Anyway, I have since gotten an X10i (AT&T) & have de-branded it as well as unlocking & rooting it. Here goes:
I installed Champs' Rom (x10sV9-addon) but didn't want all the clutter he had pre-installed. To make a long story short, I went back to Wolf's ROM via Xrecovery but something went wrong. I can no longer boot into Xrecovery & after SonyEricsson logo, screen goes blank, not black/blue just blank. The other problem is, since I can't see the screen, I can't turn on the USB connection so my PC/Flashtool/SEUS can recognize my device so I can fix it. This happened while trying to re-install Wolf's ROM & installing the following zip files via Xrecovery: Bravia_Xloud engine, Xperia S Player, Champ + Bar, x10_gb_stock_wifi_modules. Then I rebooted & I get the blank screen. I know it is on because I can turn the volume all the way down to vibrate. The "home" button still lights up. PLEASE, I need someone's help with this one as I am no expert, just a moderate tinkerer. ANY help/incite would be appreciated. Sorry, I can't even give you any screenshots. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanx in advance.

RE: Blank Screen After Flashing Custom ROM
Thanx for getting back to me so fast. As I said, the screen is blank. That is, the backlit display works but I can see nothing else. The "Home" button lights up when i press it but the display does nothing. If/When I reboot to try to enter XRecovery, I see the SonyEricsson logo followed by the backlit screen & nothing else. The Volume up/down buttons work as I am able to silence the phone by turning volume all the way down to vibrate. Because I cannot see what's on the display, I cannot turn USB on/off to connect to PC to run SEUS/Flashtool, etc. I.E. I cannot fix the device. Usually I just boot into XRecovery to fix a problem like this but that doesn't work.

hy, install sony update service and repair your phone, then install again custom rom, the indications how to repair your phone software is in the program.
Best regards

I wish I had gotten this solution sooner. Not sure if it would have mattered. When trying to use Flashtool I kept getting an error saying my phone was not in "flash mode".
I solved my problem by flashing using Omnius & flashing firmware 'X10i_generic_SE_24_MultiTouch.rar'. This got my phone back but it was only 2.1 so I used 'DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su' to get me back to 2.3, but this is where I'm at. I had Wolf's firmware before but right now I have no xRecovery installed. I thought I had rooted my phone but xRecovery isn't installed nor is Busybox.. Any ideas? Thanx in advance...EVERYONE @ XDA-DEVELOPERS rox!
I haven't replied to this post because I'm at my wit's end. I still can't get XRecovery installed & I think I've tried all the methods out there. Maybe my problem is that I restored my phone using Omnius. Flashtool works OK but I can't do anything but Flash on it. My phone is a headache now. It freezes up, crashes & sometimes won't read the SD card. Please help...

C if u can repair phone using SEUS now. Open the software without connecting phone. N then go to the update part. It should give u a repair option. Then follow those steps. Or else just connect ur phone n then start software. When it tells u ur phone is up to date click on that n then click on "repair". Then use the latest flashtool to root. Recoveries come with kernels so just flash a custom kernel.

Many Thanks, I was finally able to use SEUS; before I could not. I used Flashtool to upgrade/downgrade kernel. However, I still don't have XRecovery installed & I'm not sure how to do this. I can't install XRecovery using Flashtool. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to install a custom Rom again.
I don't think u need to upgrade or downgrade.. just look for a link to download xrecovery here and follow instructions

I'm not sure how it went down but prior to this, I was unable to use SEUS. No matter what I did, I couldn't repair it. However, since your post, I was able to use SEUS & Flashtool to get back to where I was before I screwed up my X10a. I'm currently running Wolf's Rom (many thanx!!!) & am very satisfied w/all your help homey! You da man!
I noticed you are running ICS on your X10i. Any help so that I may partake of that deliciousness?

Ur welcome i don't think u need help you just flashed a custom ROM.. the procedure for installing ICS is the same. Although it'd be better if you are on stock before installing it.. just look for an ICS ROM that u like (I'm using feralab n it works like a charm).
Get the kernel n ROM.. as usual, put the ROM zip on ur SD card, flash the kernel, install ROM from recovery
Although before installing:
1. In recovery go to mounts n storage
2. Format system data n cache
3. Mount system, data n cache (note that if the mounting is successful the options should change to unmount system, unmount data, unmount cache respectively)
4. Then install ROM
5. The installer is GUI based so it'll guide u really well through the installation

I recently rooted my LG P500 and I think I've uninstalled something I shouldn't have because now the operating system won't load at all.
Have restored to factory settings but same thing happens, just a black screen with the pull down drawer available at the top.
Any ideas what I can do? Thanks.
Reboot into recovery mode and flash a new rom. You got a recovery installed on the phone right ?

To me, it sounds like you don't have a launcher anymore. Try downloading one onto your phone using the play store.

Thanks, but I did do a hard reset and the problem didn't go away.
If I install a launcher, that will get the phone working, however if I ever nee to do another hard reset, I'll be in the same situation won't I?
Will try this later though, what launcher shall I get? Thanks.

Or, you can do a hard reset which should bring everything back to you. But:
1. This can only be done if you do not have a custom recovery.
2. This will wipe your apps and settings I believe.
If you want to try this, turn off your phone, and then hold:
volume down + home + power
The reason why this only works if you do not have a custom recovery is because once you flash a custom recovery, that button combo becomes the button combo for the custom recovery. And that is because your custom recovery overwrites the stock recovery, which is what does the hard reset.
Thanks, but I tried a hrd reset and it still won't launch correctly.
Only way round this is to install a custom rom. I've gone and bought a new phone so will try and see if I can get away with sending this off to one of these phone recycle places.
