Download root explorer. Download any roms. Put it on your sd card.
Using root explorer, click the Rom you downloaded. Go to system/app find email.apk extract it.
Now go back to extracted folder.
Should be in sd/extracted
Copy and back out to root of our sd card
On top it should say"/" on top right corner.
Go to system/app and paste it.
Reboot
Enjoy
running Trigger 2.6.1
/dead horse kernel
/honeycomb theme.
ok i just tried your method still , missing the select text option

Is there any way to make the gmail icon red and white? There was an old battery mod that did this for jfd, but I would like to do it for nero v4
Pull the Gmail.apk file from your phone, open it with 7zip and put the attached file into the \res\drawable-hdpi folder, close out 7zip, and push Gmail.apk back to the device.
You can also install gmail notifier. It gives you tons of options.

I don't use root explorer, but if it allows you to copy apks from system folders from/to the phone, i don't see why it wouldn't work. Just use Root Explorer to put the Gmail.apk on your computer, put the icon in the file, and use root explorer to put it back in /system/app

You have to copy apk file into system folder. You can`t install it like any other app. To do that you have to be root user.
I use ES file explorer. Install ES file explorer. Go to options and select "Root Explorer" (press "Allow" when asked from superuser app) and "Mount File System". Copy your apk and go to your phone memory. Go to system and then app folder and paste it. Reboot your phone and you`re done.

Maybe you are using the wrong browser.apk `cause I found that cyanogen mod browser.apk is <500kB in size
here is official from the latest stable cyanogen which should work fine

Using a file explorer like ES file explorer browse to where you copied the .apk on your sdcard tap on it > select package installed > select install button.

I believe I did that
I did that by going to the file folder (through the mounted SD card notification) and clicking on that file (with .apk) extension. It says file is wrong format.
Is there any installer that I am overlooking?
try with astro file manager from Android market

hmmm hold on did you just buy this device? check the version of the firmaware , go to settings, device info, About your NOOK and let us know what software version do you have. If you're in 1.4.2 and even 1.4.1 you can't sideload. its better if you go back to 1.4.0 where all works well.

Got it.
Many, many thanks!
No, I am in firmware 1.4.0.
Just installed the explorer software and everything is peach.
Help please. I've been searching for days for the default font folder of the Galaxy S III at the internal sd card. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it. Is it really hidden by any chance? Same with the default folder for the S III Wallpapers ?
My phone is not rooted, everything is stock. I've heard of font changer but it requires root. Searching for a nonroot solution if it is possible.
Thank you for your patience and tolerance.
Fonts are in /system/fonts but you will not be able to acces to this folder without root
For wallpaper, there is no folder: there are in one of the apk from samsung which should be in /system/app but no access to this folder without root

Or you can use ES Explorer w/ root access, then go to /system/app/. Select 'secwallpaperchooser.apk' and extract all the files wherever you like using ESExplorer menu on the right (let's say SD card). You will find all the .jpg in Storage/ExtSdCard/res/drawable-xddpi folder.
Hope it'll help
