Has anybody installed any fonts from the Market yet? Or used one of the alternative options that shuffle TTF files over the stock fonts?
I had a couple of fonts on my Captivate, and I recall it had an actual font preferences, but that may have been from one of the various non-OEM ROMs I flashed (I don't even remember the phone with stock ROM ).
I thought I might actually buy a couple this time, vs. using freeware options, but I wanted to have a decent option for switching type faces, plus I was curious if the higher screen PPI would make the fonts too small.
Looking at probably a HelvNue FlipFont, maybe Copperplate (and few others).

So still learning my tablet to know and at the moment I have managed to make different wallpapers for each screen and downloaded some funny games.
So now I'm hungry for new experince! (Can you even say this in english? )
All the time people are talking about rooting their devices, is it the same thing when you jailbreak an iPhone? And when you do it, what does it to your device?

Rooting is nothing more than giving yourself full control over your tablet. When you're NOT rootet, certain aspects of controlling the tab is "locked", so to speak. And that goes for the apps, you install to. Certain files can not be changed, over-written, deleted or even just "watched", if you're not rooted. It's kinda like giving admin-rights on a PC..
Honeycomb is nothing more than the name of the Android-version for tablets, and Touchwiz is the interface and framework Samsung uses for all its Android-product - a way to differ from the other android-products. This tab was first sold without Touchwiz in some parts of the world (running barebone Honeycomb) and then got a touchwiz-update later on. Many of Samsungs own apps will not work on even Samsung-devices, if they do not have TW installed, as they're based on TW-framework.
Pushing something to a given directory basically means copying/moving it to that directory. However, as these directories are mostly "locked" folders, you will need to be have rooted your tab to do this. The "pushing"-term comes from using ADB, where you use a command that says to push the given file to the given directory. Most times off, though, you can do this with a simple file manager (with root-rights ) on your tab.
The only way I know to get new icons is to either
a) Use another Launcher or
b) flash a custom rom with other icons.
However, I'm sure there are other way to do this, that I'm not aware of myself

Launchers like ADW EX allow you to download "theme" packs, which usually contain a lot of different and new icons.
How did you get a different wallpaper on each screen? Edit: Multipicture Live Wallpaper lets you do this.

Ok, that I get. Also what I thought, so almost the same thing jailbreaking and iPhone, but people with the galaxy have many more options afterwards.

If I'm not tottaly wrong we are using Android 3.2 / 3.1 and that is what we call Honeycomb? Simply the name of the Android version. And as I thought, Touchwiz is the interface. I read somewhere it was sold without Touchwiz, but what difference does Touchwiz make? As I wrote, I bought in the US but I have no idea whether I had touchwiz or not. There came some new things after the update, "Indstillinger (Its on danish, dont know the word in english, but maybe "options"?) was completely change from black to white.

Ok, so when people are talking about pushing something, that probably 'cause they have rooted their device? Not when I simply move a picture from one place to another?

What do you mean by "launchers" ? And yep, to get different wallpapers I downloaded and used multipicture live Wallpaper, but dont know if I like it that much, it seems to cause lag.

A Launcher is basically the the desktop of your tablet/phone. It is what displays the shortcuts, application list, widgets etc. that you are using. It is used to 'launch' all other applications on your device. So if you don't like the default launcher on your phone or Tablet, you can use one from the marketplace. there are lots of different options but so far I only know for sure that ADW EX supports honeycomb (Android 3.x)
If you have ADW EX, you can download ADW Themes from the market, and those will change up the appearance of your device, including icons.
Hey guys, im needing some advice on aosp for the thunderbolt. first off i love aosp the only problem i have is mainly some of the sizing on the screen. for example, i use smart keyboard because it just works best for me but when i go to use voice to text feature and it gives me the list of 3-6 things i said, It usually only shows a few words because its so big. ive tried changing font size which eventually creates problems elsewhere. Ive tried using different keyboards but i just cant find one I like other than smart keyboard. I never seems to have this problem on any of my other phones using an AOSP rom. any advice or help? Try changing your DPI setting.

I've tried it. Just make display offset. The screen resolution itself looks fine. It just basically the size that text/menu items are that to big to show everything needed just like it does in a sense rom.
If any of you have used the Nook app on the Galaxy Note, you probably already know what I'm going to ask.
Problem: at stock 320 dpi, the text in eBooks is ridiculously large in the Nook Reader, even at its smallest setting. You have to go down to 260 dpi before text becomes small enough to read comfortably--but 260 dpi leads to force closes for me. 240 dpi solves the force close problem but for some reason ICS Objection is very sluggish at 240 dpi.
280 dpi is a good happy medium for me for all my aps but the Nook. Thing is, most of my eBooks to date have been purchased through the Nook store... ugh.
So! I started mucking about with font changing apps in the store and found one called "Font Size Setter" that actually works pretty well in ICS. Unfortunately, while it does scale fonts all over the OS itself, it has no effect whatsoever in whatever calculations the Nook app uses to display fonts in an eBook.
So what I'm wondering is, does the Nook app have a settings file of some kind that I can manually edit to scale down the font display? Does anyone know? I don't know enough about how Android is laid out even begin looking...

Just out of curiosity I flashed Saurom and the Nook app doesn't display this problem at all. Does Gingerbread handle screen DPI differently than ICS?

I'm dying to know this myself. The Nook app is probably the biggest reason I bought the thing to begin with - it was really great back on the older version of Android, but this new thing just looks ridiculous. I called Barnes & Noble about the problem and they seemed genuinely concerned - I was on the phone with them for about 30 minutes. They said they'd get back to me within a week but that was like 3 weeks ago.
Between this and Next Issue not working (and all of the other problems listed at the Geekitarian blog), I'm considering dropping the Note altogether and going with something new.
If you figure out a solution, please do come back and share it, as this phone was AWESOME before the Android 4.0 update.

I emailed B&N to bring this issue to their attention - how the Nook for Android app that worked fine with Gingerbread no longer works correctly after updating to ICS 4.0.4 (SGH-i717 AT&T model, in my case).
Fingers crossed they reply, as the issue makes reading Nook books on the Galaxy Note practically unreadable due to ridiculously oversized fonts, the inability to hide the status bar, etc. - all of which worked fine on 2.3 Gingerbread Note before I ran the update to ICS (which seems to have changed the dpi/ppi resolution reporting between the device and the Nook app).
flash back to GB.....It sounds like our only hope...unless B&N pulls their head out, and supports ICS with their apps...g
Nook Updated 3.2.0.81 - better Galaxy Note & Tablet support & built-in dictionary
Good news: Nook 3.2.0.81 updated yesterday and there's some better support for the Galaxy Note, including ability to hide status bar, and (for all devices) a built-in dictionary option to download the dictionary of your choice so you no longer need to launch out of the product to look up definitions. (Interesting note: The iOS version update also offers downloadable dictionary even though that version of the app has had dictionary lookup using the iOS's own dictionary feature since earliest versions.)
To me the updated version helps make using Nook on the Galaxy Note more comfortable, though the font sizing still seems off, because even the smallest font still looks too big to me.
That said, I'm pleased this app has finally gotten a reasonably helpful update after so many months of gargantuan fonts and unhidden status bar and whatnot.
I just long-pressed the left button (back button) to bring up the settings and fix the text size. Now it reads just like it did on my Samsung Galaxy S4.
To begin with, I'm far from new to Android, just new to Samsung and the Note.
Also - I know I'm not the only one with this problem but I haven't run across a solution yet. I can take and image I want to use as a wallpaper and, on the lock screen and the Touch whiz home screen and it looks exactly like I want it to. But, since I'm one of those folks who dislikes the fact that I can't swap out apps on the TW launcher bar, I slap my own launcher on the Note to make it mine again. Unfortunately, then comes the annoying part.......
Whatever photo I put up as wallpaper looses resolution and seems to explode in size so that only about 1/4 of the original wallpaper/ photo is visible and what's left is very blurry. I know this isn't limited to just one launcher - I've tried ADW, Launcher Pro, Nemus, Go Launcher, Holo, and a few more I can't remember the names of right now. And they all give me the same problem.
So far I've changed the format of the wallpaper photo to .png or .jpeg and back again, tweaked the size and resolution of the picture, dug through XDA and a few other forums fort wisdom, and used harsh language on my Note - all to no avail. So, can anyone tell me what I'm missing or if there's any hope for me at all? I'm rooted stock 2.3.6 and would prefer, for various reasons, to stay that way for now. But, at this point I'm willing to consider options if all else fails since I'm getting quite annoyed by this.

I've been using Themer since it first was availible, and I adore customising my phone. The most recent update has changed some things around and it's gotten me a bit confused, though. I was using one theme for a very long time so I hadn't noticed until now.
I went to edit the colours for some widgets in the Theme that I downloaded and the files are all literally just "file" type files? They don't open with Zooper (and I'm not sure how to make it so they do, since when I go to Save a widget it gives no options for files types, etc) and I have no idea how I would go about editing them on my PC. The options given in the Everything Widget configurations don't give me what I need (they are shapes/images? that I need to change and therefore there are no colour options for them).
I recall being able to open widgets with Zooper much simpler than now; which I'm really unsure of how to do at the moment.
For a reference, I have fully updated apps (Themer, Zooper Pro, etc) and I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
