When i wake up,i just find that my 101 cant open, when i press on the power button, the led light just flash 1 time, then it close...
the battery is full charging...
why it cant open????
P.S i may think that i let it to stay at thr recovery mode last light..
try holding down the power button to see if it shuts down. Then hit the power again to see if it boots properly.
I often have the same problem. When the device goes into standby, I try to turn it on by pressing the power button but it doesn't work:
- Press it once: nothing happens
- Press it again: flashes very shortly and black again
- After that I have to press it several times and sometimes it will turn on. Sometimes I have to reset it completely (press and hold for 10secs)
Really annoying...

Try to set the brightness setting above 30% or more. Most of the time i see that problem is when brightness is set at very low level.

Try keeping your entirely unhelpful comments to yourself. They aren't appreciated. People knew what was meant.

I found the device won't power up properly if you let the power drain out of it to the point of it going into standby and then charging it back up again. The light just flashes at you rapidly. Takes a manual power off before it'll boot up again. If I find my device about to power itself down (1-2% power left), I power it off to stop that from happening until I can charge it up again.

Does it turn off and on when you push the power button? if so then it is working. What you need to do is go to settings, then power, then advanced, then on battery power set the minutes or seconds to turn of the device. Or maybe your device's buttons are accidentally pressed so what you need to do is button lock it so that it won't get pressed accidentally.
master g.
Not sure if this is what you mean but I was confused by the on/off switch on my IIi, I kept turning the backlight off rather than getting it to suspend.
The trick is to just press the power button for a short time and it will go off/on. If you hold it down you only put the back light on/off. I guess I shoulda read the manual.
First post btw, hi all.
The problem is, when you press the power button, it goes off just for a second then turns on again. I have changed the backlight and power settings, but still it just wont go to suspend mode. Even when pressing the suspend icon button in SBP Pocket Plus, the unit behaves the same. All I do now is turn off the backlight by pressing the power button for more than a second and just let the today screen be on, but it is eating away my battery life...
please help.
thanks

Try to do a Hard Reset.
its the hd2 clone and I dont know the hard reset combo
i got tried some different combos and i found one that when i press it the screen says caliberating.... and then turns off.
I have a TAB 10.1, that WONT turn on, and WONT charge, I don't have the receipt as I have received it as a gift, however Samsung took it for repair AND DID NOT REPAIR IT ! Very disappointing!
Is there any other solution to fix it, when I plug it into the computer still nothing...
Please get back to me guys, need your help, thanks
did you tried holding the power button a little bit longer?
It happens from time to time. Just keep it charged and try to turn on from time to time (sometimes holding the button for multiple seconds). Eventually it will turn on. It's the standby of death problem.

yes, I tried everything, holding power down for up to a minute, holding power and volume up and down, also holding the power button while touching the screen, still nothing...
Try connecting to computer.
Or maybe its Sleep of Death issue. Search for it. you will get solutions like draining your battery completely.

Did you try Power button, then volume down button (only, don't touch the power up) for 8-10 seconds while still holding the power button, then letting off the volume down button? It always works for me.

yes I have tried that, nothing happanes, also nothing happens when I connect it with the computer as well (not even apx mode)...
So I used my nook tablet all day yesterday and this morning. I put it down to goto lunch.. came back and noticed my wifi was not on.. I checked settings and it showed "Wifi turning off" and it was grayed out and just stuck.
I've seen this before with other android devices so no biggie. I powered the unit off.
Now it won't turn back on. Holding the power button now for about 20 secs and nothing.
The battery is at like 80% and I even plugged it in to see if it helped but no good.
I did root it at 1.4.0 and used the Block OTA method with titanium backup but nobody else seems to have a problem.
Is there a way to boot in recovery or something ? Perhaps a trip back to B&N will be needed.
Ok.. holding vol down + power for around 8 secs got it back on. Weird
i have noticed this a few times. Not sure why but never lost anything

I had a similar problem. I couldn't get the tablet to turn on. I discovered in a Kindle Fire forum that you could get the Fire to start when stuck in the off position by holding down the power button for 20 seconds. I tried that with my Nook and it started right up.
Thank! That worked! I was having the same issue. Said Wifi was turning off and all went blank and couldn't reboot. You gave me the answer.
Cheers.
I have had the wifi "turning off" issue. Rather than turn off the nook, I used the menu that you get with a long press of the power button when you install either ROM manager or titanium backup, can't remember which. It has rebooted every time without issue.
The Wifi issue is a known problem. You can set the wifi to stay awake when on the charger and this problem wont happen. Add the power widget so that you can turn the wifi off when not connectwd to the charger. This combo fixes the wifi issue. When your Nook experiences a kernel error it will appear as if it is off but if you hold it at angle, you will notice backlight is on. Just hold nook button and power and it will turn off...then power to reboot rom.

Actually, it's happened to me twice while I had WiFi set to never sleep when charging.
Moved To Q&A
We now have a Q&A section. Please post all questions there
I rooted my Nook Tablet and it worked fine yesterday. Now it won't turn on and isn't recognized by my PC. I hear the windows alert when a usb device is connected but when I try to do anything via adb I always get 'error: device not found'.
I tried doing adb get-state and all I got was 'unknown'
I tried booting into recovery via holding the power button + n for various amounts of time, but nothing happened.
Does anyone have any ideas? It was working fine yesterday and I haven't changed anything on it since I used it last.
Hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. let it sit for a minute, then hold the power button for another 5 seconds or so and release. It should boot up. (assuming your battery is charged)

I had to do a reset (power button + Home) twice so far. Each time it happened after I left the tablet to recharge overnight. It did not turn on as it normally does when you unplug the charger.
I must admit that the (power button + Home) reset does not seem to be cut & dry. The routine quoted above worked the first time. The second time, I tried it several times then finally I tried the pwr button by itself and it went on.
Mine just did this Power and vol down got it running again.
i got s3, suddenly it started to reboot itself all the time, what i see is only the samsung logo and then black, and samsung again.
the funny thing is that when i put the battery in, it automaticly start with this loop.
during the loop, when i press home+volume up, i can see the cwm screen for two seconds, and then it reboot again.
if i press home+voulume down, i see the warning in the stock recovery, but when i press volume up, nothing changed, and eventually after two seconds it reboots again.
i tried to connect it to my pc, but it dosen't show it in device manager, and have no indication that i connected it.
also, when i connect it the charger, i see circle, and then a battery for a brief second, and then the circle again.
is it simple hardware problem (stuck power button? even though it seem okay, but it may explain the automatic turn on), or half SDS?
anyway, are there any recommondations? i have'nt flashed it recently or anything like it.

if i try to get to download mode (home and volume down) i see the warning, but either i press volume up or down, it reset itself.

the regular, about flashing custom roms, if i want to continue press volume up, restart, volume down.
either way, it restarts.
any way it is the power button stuck in 1 mode?
If phone starts on battery insertion, before you push the button then yes, power button is shorted out.

Try leaving the battery out overnight/long time, it helped when I got my phone stuck in a bootloop. But that was due to oc/uv...did you try something risky, causing it to bootloop?
no, it was in regular use, nothing risky.
yesterday i dissassembled it and checked with multimeter, it seem that the power button shorting the circuit, so i ordered a new one, going to be a surgical operation...
