or is there a program that I can use wifi to send the file?
I use drop box 99% of the time. Or you can email it if it isn't too big.

I am able to transfer files from my pc to my Archos 43 via bluetooth without a problem, i know this sounds daft but did you make it discoverable under settings? and your only discoverable for 2 minutes. hope this helps
Also having problems getting the Archos 101it to communicate with anything else via Bluetooth. My Desire and laptop happily exchange files, but neither can send to the Archos. I just about managed to pair the Archos to my laptop, but then couldn't get them to communicate. Thought I'd try upnpairing and reconnect, but now the Archos won't pair with anything at all!
SOLUTION!
To recieve on ARchos you need to Install "Bluetooth file transfer".
It will activate "OPP". Plus you need activate discovery mode!

Thanks for the tip, can confirm this works perfectly! Just install the app from the Market, no need to actually use the send to send/receive, native Android services works as normal. Looks like FTP and OPP services were disabled by default (on my device at least) and just installing this app enables them.
Problem with sending & receiving SMS from PC
I have used in the past several apps to send & receive texts from my EVO using my PC. I know have the Thunderbolt and the apps won't work any more. Almost like the Thunderbolt has a built in firewall. RemoteSMS, EasySMS, are just a few I have tried. All the same result, whether I use usb or wifi. If I ping my phone I get destination host unreachable. I know I have the right IP and connectivity. Is ICMP blocked and more importantly is there a way I can let these apps work with out Root. The apps are on the Market and don't say you need root for them to work. They do all work over http or https, and you can change the ports, but it's like there is a firewall in place on the phone blocking on them. Can anyone please help????? Thanks in advance for your time. Have a good 4th of July!!!!
~I am not looking for Google Voice or other apps that use a third party broker service. Just to simply control my phone's SMS from a PC when I am in the office or at home work on a computer. Thx Again.....
Hello,
I've found one bug in my SGS3. It is stock and currently not even rooted - XXLFB. If I want to upload a photo into Dropbox with a 3G connection (or EDGE if 3G isn't available), upload transfer stops at about 10% - 20%. Also if I send a photo via email, email stays in Outbox folder and doesn't move (I guess because of same reason). Both works well when I have Wlan connection. Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix this? Thanx
Hello, Ive been having this problem with SGS1, and I still have it with SGS3. Whenever I try to share a file via bluetooth, it takes ages to send. For example, I want to send 1gb file between my SGS3 and friend's One X, after 5 minutes there is only 2-4% of the file sent. What can I do to speed up file transfer speed?
Thanks in advance
use wifi
Hahaha bluetooth is not designed for that, use wifi direct
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Wifi direct always fail, because when i try to send a file, it just doesnt get sent. I connect with someone, but when i send files, another person doesnt get anything.
As has been said already, bluetooth isn't designed for large files so the transfer rate is slow. It's mainly designed for small files for example music files, You would be best off using Wifi direct or failing that, copy the file to a PC via USB then copy it to the other phone.
Hi all. I use my WiFi direct a lot transferring files back and forth between tablet and phone. Many apps make this quite easy.
Problem is, anytime I make a group to connect the 2, it creates some random password that has to be typed in. Is there some way to create a permanent group and passphrase?
