I get one or two deep scratches on my Folio screen (thanks to my beloved dog ) that I can't remove, at least I used my dremmel and plastic polisher and the scratch doesn't dissapear.
Before I try something harder, like metal polisher, or even wet sanding I would like to ask Where I can get a spare front glass.

I am afraid the only option you have is to send it in.
I carefully removed the glass and then using wet sanding paper I removed the scratches, I get some polishing soap and it is shinning again. It topo me all day to have it done

Hi - Does it still work ok?
Yes, I only removed the front "glass"´, so no electronic part was damage during the process.

hello to all,
I had a small incident during some home repair work where I didn't realize that I had adhesive on the fingers when I answered the tel. After that I found traces of adhesive on the screen as one can see on the photo. I did not remember if I had placed a screen protector on my toshiba at the beginning or not. Then To check it I tried to remove it with the nail to take off an edge, and an end is actually detached, except that it does not look like a screen protector, but a kind of plastic layer semi-rigid which has the thickness of a protective film! It looks like a protective hard coat which comes with the phone but is not supposed to be removed.
I am afraid now to pull it off and damage my screen even more. Then I would like to know if somebody already experienced this problem and could remove this protective layer.
If so please share your experience. I may not be the only one with this issue.

That looks indeed like part of the case that protects the touch screen. I will try ebay and look for a replacement case.

i think that surface is not a protective layer.. i think it's part of the touchscreen.
I removed mine today. Touch screen still works
The coating makes the screen less prone to scratches, and makes slight scratches less apparent. After removing the coating, I noticed the lots of tiny scratches I made on the screen, but they're gone after I stick a new screen protector on it.
I'm glad I removed it because there's a scratch on mine.

Can you report exactly how did you make it? Are you sure that it was not a previous protective screen? I've just bought a second TG01 with a scratched screen but I don't dare to do what you did

It is not a previous protective screen. It is factory applied, there's a lot of glue residue on the screen after I remove it. Took me a lot of time to remove the glue by "pushing" the glue to a side with my fingers, then cleaning it off with WD40.
I bought my second hand TG01 in June and have been using it every day ever since. A few days ago, presumably due to cold weather, I noticed this hard coat is starting to wear off, there's a mark on the screen like a badly applied screen protector, so I started to remove it.
The glue that stuck the hard coat onto the screen was very strong, so be patient and take extra care when removing the coat. Do it slowly so only the hard coat is removed but not the soft touch screen layer below it.
DO stick a new screen protector on the screen after removing the hard coat as the unprotected screen is more prone to scratches without the hard coat.
After two days of use, do NOT remove the hard coat. I think I damaged the touch screen in the progress, it's now very hard to tap on the intended position correctly.
Now going to buy a new touch screen

This is VERY interesting and well done description in the link you provided! I almost opened my phone but due to lack of appropriate courage and tools and understanding, I stopped for now, but will soon re-try!
My Ray is 4-5 months old, and 1-2 months ago I noticed that glass on the camera is more and more peeling off...I have silicon case since day one, so it is not from scratches...maybe from removing smudges and dust here and there before thaking photo...I use my T-shirt on me (cotton, soft) and dont press hard...
It seems that this peel off and scratches doesnt affect photo quality as I dont see artefacts on photos - but, when whatching lens (glass) it can bee clearly seen as there is damaged somekind of protective film...
Does someone have same problems? Does this influence photo quality? It could bend light in different way...
Do you mean the protective piece of plastic on the center case covering the lens ?
Yeah, same prob here. The lens coating...but i think that's just protector against uv radiation from sunlight. Not sure though....

Way to overcome this could be screen protector! Liquid fills that 'scratches' so light is bend same way..atleast that works with scratched screen!

Well i was having the same blue looking coating on my MINI's camera glass but after 2-3 months it started peeling off so i totally removed it and i dont find decrease in picture quality also i dont think its a scratch protector as that thing itself get peeled off than how come it will protect you camera glass?

I saw that people say about Displex - that is scratch removal paste (not for touch screens). I will try it - must go find it to buy. I used it years ago for my phone screen...it was great...It polish edges of big scratches and litle scratches so scratches are not visible any more - even big ones. It polis rough edges so light dont get bend differently and everything is ok. So I belive displex could remove that coating and polish that glass over lens!
Alternative would be to change that glass with plastic or something like that (maybe another phones glass)... But for now, I think that displex would be best thing to try. It is 5-10$ and can last long...

I haven't seen this posted already so I figured I would share. Anyways my brother just got a S4 for $120 but it came with cracked front glass. I told him I would fix the glass for him (my first time touching a S4 let alone replacing the front glass). Well I meant to take more pictures, but in the moment I just wanted to get the phone done. I followed a guide on iFixit and watched a couple videos on Youtube, alot of people are right when they say that the Youtube videos make it look simple. Anyways this was my first time working with LOCA glue (removing and replacing).
Here are some helpful tips:
#1 Make a jig that will hold your heat gun above your workspace, you will need to adjust the height depending on how well your heat gun works.
#2 Put some clear packaging tape on the front of the glass to avoid glass chipping and flying, also to keep glass from entering under the glass and scratching the digitizer..
#3 The glass is easiest removed with a temperature between 155f and 165f.
#4 Work top to bottom. Ear piece to button.
#5 When prying the glass off MAKE SURE you are between the glass and the digitizer, it is easy to lift the whole LCD assembly.
#6 Work slowly, if the glass if badly broken it will not pull up as easily as a less shattered glass. I found that the digitizer was not as fragile as I was made to believe.
#7 Have plastic razor blades or a plastic putty knife/scraper handy for the removal and cleanup of the LOCA glue.
#8 Have 2 lint free cloths handy for the cleanup and removal of the LOCA glue.
#9 When the glass is almost off remember to pry off the back and home button sensors from the bottom of the glass.
#10 When it is time to clean up the digitizer use your putty knife/scraper to get most of it up.
#11 I found that Eucalyptus oil works well at removing the rest of the LOCA glue. Just put some on a Q-tip and swab the area you want to clean.
Here is a pic of what the digitizer looked like after cleaning with Eucalyptus oil.

I'm not gonna lie, while putting the new glass on I could not get all the air out, I did not get pics of the finished screen, but it only has a couple small bubbles. Well worth the $10 for the new glass.

My first digitizer replacement ended up in a few big flower shaped flecks on the screen. That is not what I expected. I am very curious to know how these flecks appeared, or how I could avoid this will happen again. Also it looked to me like the original brightness could not be achieved.
This is the phone (Jiayu G2s) with the Calendar active which is almost an entire white display.
anybody who recognizes this?
oh, and by the way everything functions normal.

Looks like you overheated the actual screen. If you apply too much heat you will lose colors/brightness in those areas.
Heat not the only cause......

The "flowers" that you see can be caused by too much heat. BUT, these appear to be the result of excessive pressure placed on the display. If you press hard enough on almost any lcd or led display you'll see these kinds of patterns. If you let off they go away, unless you've pressed to hard or too long. AMOLED are particularly sensitive when heated. Long and short, be careful how much pressure you use when removing the glass etc....
I replaced an s3 screen twice. It was obviously easier the second time, as there was no LOCA to fight with. The main reason for diminished clarity and sharpness after replacement is the absence of the LOCA. Once u manage to get the glass off and do the necessary cleaning/preparation for reassembly, applying 3-4cc's of LOCA onto the digitizer in a vertically stretched "X" pattern will give u that genuine factory screen appearance. Well...After u cure it under UV light. But...for a novice, applying the LOCA and making it look good without permanently damaging the device is extremely tricky. And shouldn't b attempted if you're not somewhat of a professional, as the glue can seep down into your phone's internal hardware.

hi. thanks for the tip... i have 1 question at the moment, and it might sound silly... but what kind of eucalyptus oil did you use and where from? i did a search on it and there were all sorts of brands and use, and seems forms of it...
i like lighter fluid personally but its to runny but is perfect it you can keep it from behind the lcd and messing up the sheets on the likes of a LG G3.
The eucalyptus oil I used was an essential oil from my local co-op/natural foods store.
Go to lcdbondingusa dot com. They have this cleaner for cleaning LOCA. Man let me tell you, it's well worth the cost. I use a diabetic syringe to get it between the LCD and Digi. Sure does make easy work of it. It's great for other stuff, too.

Unfortunately ceramic version also get scratches. After over year of using I've got some really ugly, big scratches on ceramic back.
I wonder if it is possible to polish back surface? Does anyone tried?
I have some experience with polishing car parts, but it's totally different item.

Hello . Tbh I'm not sure what I would do. As it is a phone. How ever! It is possible to get scratches out of ceramic.
Take the back of (if you can)
mark with chalk all the scratches easy to wipe off.
get a bowl or something filled with nice hot water not to hot though you got a stick you hand in. Make it warm. Shuv some dishwasher liquid in. Good quality. Like fairy liquid or something.
CLEAN THEM SCRATCHES!
then wipe up the scratches and dry up with a clean cloth. One that doesn't leave bobbles or rubbish.
Put a small bit of brass polisher on a clean, soft cloth. Apparently tooth paste or vinagre works, but not tried it. Rub the product into the scratches and all the edges, like your wax a car. Circle Circle circles keep doing it. Eventually the scratches should no longer be visible.
you can stop there although when I did my bathroom tiles I used some car wax just to protect the areas.
I hope this helps. . Don't run at me with knives and lemons if it ruins your phone please xD this works on real ceramic....

Mine with more or less one year old have no scratches in ceramic, only on the aluminium(?) edge and some light scratches in front glass. I have used it almost all time withou a case. !!!!
so, i have the unicorn beetle case for my S9 (and my fiancee's S9 as well) and this oil slick thing happened between the plastic of the screen protector and the phone screen. Ive cleaned the inside with windex, professional strength spray foaming g;ass cleaner, 98% isopropyl rubbing alcohol, dawn dish soap and warm water, dawn and cold water etc etc etc, ive even used a hair dryer to get it fairly warm and to allow the air to help move any water molecules from any pits in the plastic. In short, ive done a ton to this [email protected] thing and it persists. My fiancees case is fine and the older kiddos case for the A8 he inherited from me is the same brand and a year older than my case and has zero problems. I work in an office and dont get the phone near grease ever, so im baffled about where the oily stuff is coming from.
Looks like to me that it is moisture, maybe heat from the phone, humidity etc.
That is definitely moisture under the screen protector. If you already cleaned it and it came back, you will need to get new screen protector because this one has opening for water to enter and that can't be fixed

thanks guys. this was my first plastic film style case with built in screen protector thingy. Wasnt a fan at first, got used to it and then this happened. Ive since order ed a new case, which obviously fixed the issue. The case is fairly cheap, its just a shame the plastic part only lasted that long. Thanks for the replies guys, the accessories area of a phones forum is usually a wasteland lol
I have been using one for the past 6 months on my Galaxy S9 and I've had no such issues. The only times this would happen was when I would wipe the screen with alcohol and a portion would get into the sides at the top.
The only reason that would happen is you got the phone wet at some point and the water found its way through the cut-outs. Of course, with no way to evaporate, it's probably going to stay there unless you remove the plastic cover clean it, dry it then return it.
