Hi there let me first apologize for not fixing my Sig. I'm currently running Bionix 1.3.1 w/Overstock 1.3. I was wondering if anybody knew how to disable the GPS when you take pictures on the camera that comes with said rom? I'm not a big fan of geo tagging and would love to be able to not have to go into my settings and shut off my gps everytime I take a pic. Thanks in advance!
I think its the only way dude. Sucks!!

So, first, i know the vibrant doesn't have a compass, it has some other **** that emulates it.... but that's not the issue here. the issue is, that it's not even functional anymore. It USED to work, but ever since last week, it just stopped. My phone doesn't rotate landscape in any apps, it doesn't rotate in the browser, or anything. Yes, the "auto-rotate" is ENABLED in settings.
I even tried to download a "compass" app to see what phone was reading, and it WASN'T reading.... i downloaded the "bubble" app to see what angle it was stuck at, and "bubble" said it was at +1 degress x +1 degrees. So i hit "calibrate" and now it's the same, but stuck at 0,0 instead now.
So how can i get this working again without wiping my phone? I know for the G1, there was this compass "file" or something we could delete, and it would reset the compass settings, and that worked for me, but what about the vibrant?
Miss read problem
I disagree. My compass mostly worked on the stock rom and a bubble app would work. This is sounding like more than the stock firmware issues.
Yea you're right I missed read his post that it stopped working completely.

If you are using the voodoo lagfix, try flashing a non voodoo kernel and see if the problem improves. A number of us have been having problems recently with the sensors stopping working completely and the common thread seems to be the voodoo kernels. Make sure you disable the lagfix first.

not using voodoo,
using regular original lagfix on a rooted STOCK rom.
i think you are talking about the accelerometers, not the compass.
Mine too.
I also noticed that my Baseband version is T959UVJI5 and the build number now says Eclair where it was "none" (or something like that) before.
Was there an OTA.
I also noticed that the GPS is much, much better.
you're right, its the accelerometer, the vibrant doesn't have a compass. can someone think of a solution?
bumpity bump.

Ok so the update works, not perfect, but works well. It also works with tge hacked camera apk from sgstools. It has the option to use the power button for shutter. Install the hacked cam first, then update the firmware in the OP and reboot.

I can confirm this working on Lokiv1-3 w/ Dead horse test 35. Works pretty well in my quick test it just took a moment to kick in and then it worked great and I will upload a sample video.
All you do is download the .apk and install it
then look in your apps drawer for 'camera firmware' and click on it
let it run through it's process then reboot
after reboot enjoy your new cam
Here's the vid just watch it til near the end when it kicks in.

uh oh... installed the .apk. opened it. let it do it's thing. closed it. rebooted. opened the camera, switched to camcorder. now it's frozen. :/ bionix v-1.0
edit: nvm. i guess video recording just doesn't work in 176x144. strange.
edit: nvm again. it completely slowed my phone down for some reason. flashing bionix 1.2 to see if there's a difference now
Just tested on bionix 1.2 all resolutions, works. Good find

When I try to install it keeps saying I already have latest ??!?! Im running M Flagship V4
edit: I guess I really do have it already
What does it actually do, and is it possible to include it in a ROM without having to use the installer?
Does this affect video quality in any way? 720p still works and looks great?

Hey guys,
I've recently rooted my Eris and installed FroShedYo 2.2.1 and I'm really happy with it overall. However, I can't find anywhere I can kill the shutter sounds for the built-in camera app or FXCamera. Am I just missing it?
Thanks in advance!
No you're not missing anything, the option isn't there. Only thing you can do is turn down your media volume when taking a pic.
Let me rephrase that, all you can do without tearing apart the .apk is turn down the media volume in settings>sound>volume

Gotcha. Okay, at least that means I'm not crazy. Actually, it does nothing to guarantee my sanity...lol...but at least I can stop hunting around for that setting. Thank you!

I've tried it already and it doesn't work. Could it be the rom I am currently running on that causes my phone to do this? My vibrant is currently running on Simply Honey 3.6 rom.
hello all....
I am running malice 4.1.1 and i have the FFC mod on my vibrant. I tried using the qik app to do video chat and my picture on the other device is upside down. How would i go about fixing this?

I cannot answer your question but can you post a pic of your mod??? Lol... I wanna see this!

I'll see what i can do... i don't own a separate digital camera...
Had a similar thing on Bionix where FFC would show horizontal when phone was vertical.
Could never quite fix it. I flashed RevolutionRom which has SGS2 Camera and no problems with that one.
