So, as most of us went to Nordic 2.1 x10 mini pro update I would like to get back to 1.6 (preferably to original O2 Germany version but any version will do).
I have tried editing build.prop in 2.1 to values 1239-2971 (these values were from my original build.prop in 1.6) but SE Update Service says that there is no new updates. I guess that this doesn't work anymore
So, is there any old software backup of 1.6 available for downgrade?
Try deleting the db folder in /Update Service inside your program files
That doesn't work.
I could try putting 1.6 build.prop (original one that I had before editing and updating) but I am afraid not to brick my phone.
Is this safe to do?

Don´t do this. I tried it already. Doesn´t work, and will put your phone in a boot loop.

May I ask why you want to go back to 1.6? Is there something not right with the 2.1 upgrade?
I don't have it yet and am not sure if I want to upgrade if it is so hard to downgrade.

I´ve paid to Davinci to downgrade to 1.6 because of the keyboard issues. I use Palm Graffiti in portrait mode and with my physical keyboard already being german, having Swedish layout on top of it was too much. Will wait for German update to be available. Otherwise no problems at all, only benefits - better battery handling in 2.1 etc.

It doesn't have any big problems, but as vlissine said there is this annoying thing with the keyboard. And as german update to 2.1 is coming out soon I would like to get back to original 1.6 version.
Also, I don't know is there any difference in Marketplace between countries. For example one application could be present on german version, but not on nordic.
At first glance there is not that much big of a difference so that you MUST switch to 2.1 immediately, except if the nordic version is suitable for your use.
Hm, no, I'm not planning to go nordic, I will wait for the update to come to Belgium.

I did omnius when I unbranded my phone. This time I used Davinci just to compare. Omnius has one disadvantage - you have to chase their dealers to get credits credited onto your account while at Davinci it is straightforward and immediate.
Also charge per day might be interesting for those who want to flas a bunch of phones, not just one. But I agree omnius is cheaper and is as good as.

When Locale updates arrive, changing your build.prop to your generic one, and then using SEUS to repair your phone would do the trick. You will be changed to your local 2.1

I tried just to test to change Nordic into Russian by using this technique. Didn´t work.
I manage to downgrade to 1.6 for FREE. lol
Just download the FW for u20i NL 1.6 here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827273 and use the Flashtool from Binary's post.

Unfortunally it doesn't works for me. Did al the steps (downloading flashtool etc.) but when I startup my phone I get the animating splash screen en after that a 'frozen' SE logo.... Still there after 15 minutes... Can someone help?

Every EOM which have a dual touch included dont work. I try official SE ROM, change the build.prop to nordic, update and screen again dont work.
I try to use a XFree beta ver. 3 and works very fine and fast, but when I add a DT firmware screen is unresbonsabile.
I dont what is the problem with my phone...
I think thats the new firmware isnt compatible with my phone...

Its better to update to 2.1.A.0.435. Then flash whatever custom ROM you want
i managed to install the CyanogenMod ROM, Gingerbread 2.3.5, pretty neat, but i got no bluetooth, and no 3g at all, maybe i did something wrong, it's pretty possible, not blaming the people who created the ROM, maybe something to do with build.properties file or whatever, right now i need a donut 1.6 ROM to make the downgrade and then reinstalla eclair via SESU, (it has to be a SE Official ROM?), anyone has a 1.6 ROM ?? i already have CWM and Root , but i need the 3g working because i am paying it and the phone company wont give the APN parameter alleging that i should not have done the upgrade because their stupid network doesnt support beyond eclair, so i am pretty ****ed up, the ROM is pretty amazing, is amazing the work done here for so many people, congratulations, please help me

u don't need 1.6 to use SEUS....just choose SEUS and click "repair phone", plug in ur 2.3.5 installed minipro and SEUS will reinstall the stock, clean 2.1update1

naa man, i have done dis million tymz b4!!!!...do dis, go 2 pc companion, then 2 support zone (don't plug ur cell in), click "phone software update"...a popup will say "could not connect phone" and there will be a link "repair phone" click dat and then continue

nope man, is not a lie, i tried twice more and then again it say there is no sw available because it detects that the phone has gingerbread 2.3.5, tried the SESU and PC Companion, these are the latest because they upgrade themselves,

I have a Sony Xperia X10 mini pro, and i used the cyanogen rom, gingerbread 2.3.5, now i use the latest one and after getting Theshawty's help, i got 3g working, and after that, i checked again the bluetooth and it's paired with my headset, but i think i will try froyo 2.2, because i got no google maps in gingerbread, and i need it, i got no youtube either, on a near future i will sell the phone and i will be needing the downgrade i think, because i will sell it with donut, not with eclair, froyo or gingerbread
Are your phone an "a" or "i" version? If you flashed and "a" phone with an "i" firmware the 3G won't work (I know this from experience). I'm assuming an "a" since you were talking about build file (I'm guessing from updating from 006 -> 015 firmware). Anyway just download a stock fw for your phone ("a" version) and flash using flashtool, then update back to 2.1 with SE updater or PC companion.

Follow these instructions, u'll have a clean, local, stock eclair.. It's for unbricking bricked x10 mini pros but should work just fine on normally working ones too!

I am using froyo 2.2.1 on my sony xperia x10 mini pro, according to the box, it's u20a, dont ask me how, but the froyo CyaNoComb v1.4 says u20i, i got the 3g working using the APN configuration that Theshawty posted, and it works like a charm, i like froyo CyaNoComb v1.4 over Gingerbread, i got google maps, google voice, voice search, even google car home
when i first upgrade my phone from stock ROM to CM7 ROM, i lost my APN. So i downgraded it and note my APN, then after upgrade, i set APN manually, and it works.
Have you done the full wipe? Do full wipe via recovery and reinstall the 2.3.5 ROM.

yeap, i actually did the full wipe, and knowing the apn parameters helped me, but now i am using froyo 2.2, is more stable than gingerbread, the launcher on gingerbread was crashing all the time, now with froyo is more smooth

The problem is that ive tried to flash all the firmware for the xt1524 (my version) but phone doesnt want to boot up , i really need help because i can use only the fastboot when i try to boot up, and i see only FAILED TO VALIDATE SYSTEM IMAGE .

Hi baes. I need some help, two weeks ago, I lost my SO. Since that, it's a nightmare, I can't find the correct firmware of my XT1023. After 5 days testing like a lot of custom roms (i cant donwload cuz my network is pretty crappy) I remmember that maybe in some placer of my pc maybe i'll find a SS of my original SO. And I did it. But I cant see the version, just the baseband version (and that's why I come here) I need a ROM for the XT1023 that have this baseband "MSM8610BP_18033.4614.45.00R RETUSA_AWS_CUST". for signal, plz flash all fastboot files, including radio files
