Ever since the 2.1 update my stock android browser is painfully slow. It hangs when loading pages, and is overall slow. I like the stock browser and wish to continue using it. I have tried to clear the cache often and reset all settings in the browser and nothing helps.
What's the baseband and build number of ur x10?
Did u try clearing history or killing apps before using your phone browser? I know killing apps is controversal.
Tell me this info. And maybe i can help

PC Companion. I am on Rogers in Canada.
U mite want to consider doing flash tool from xda website under x10 developement section only cuz u can pick different build numbers if ones dont work for u. I havent heard this issuse before since i started at least looking at these forums since at least december. This rom and firmware stuff work for different people so try it out if u want to go that route. Let me know and i can help u get a link for flashtool of u cant find it.

Thanks ill have a look at that.
How much would having the "enable location" setting checked affect performance?
I tried unchecking it and the browser seems much more responsive.
Hey u mite have found ur solution

you can use Trip rom as well , its very cool
i meanyt to say that if i install any rom will i loose my generic se firmware or data ?
You can always go back to general SE firmware by clicking repair in SEUS.
The data on your sdcard is usually safed when changing between ROMs. But to be sure you can make a backup in xRecovery. Or use an app like Titanium backup or My Backup Root.
Owner of Post,
Do you have the latest version of busybox installed yet and xrecovery yet, because if you don't, I or somebody else can help you. So post again and if you need it and I will post some links for you to use.

Here is flashtool that will help with many things with the x10 like rooting, new se firmwares, installing busybox, ect.
What is your baseband? I need to know before you do the following below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
and here is the how to to use flashtool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
since your phone is already rooted, install busybox with flashtool first then xrecovery with this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571.
then pick on of the lovely ROMs with with the correct baseband you have.
im on 2.1.54

Good. Now you can use most if not all 2.2 ROMS. Go the busybox step then.

by the way, it doesn't matter if your phone is X10a or X10i. that just means your phone hardware frequency is different. you can use any custom ROM. I recommend Trip's GB MiUI ;-)
Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI using XDA Premium App
u should try wolfbreak's custom rom in the android development section since your baseband is on .54 if not you have to take the trouble to flash your baseband to .49 or 52 for trips rom
Thanks Guys
Im sorry im makin a thread for such a stupid question but what firmware do I have to be to get the gb update? Is it the .435 generic? Im on a x10a.
Thanks in advance
Yup, and since the upgrade is near, i recommend you not to modify the phone.

Did you ever think that maybe he is not on stock anymore.
@ OP
We don't know yet.
Hopefully soon we will.
Thhanks guys, im on rogers stock 2.1 I was thinkin to root after flashing it might be pointless if im going 2.3. Better keep it stock while I wait.
What did you mean by *unmodified*? Rooting? Or something else?
Sorry for double post, I just downloaded the x10a .435 generic from the flashtool thread, is that the stock unmodified one?
Sorry first android phone lol :$

No, dont use FlashTool. Yous current firmware is just fine. And yes, unmodified=no root, custom rom, etc.

Wow, you want to debate just about that? And DID I say I KNOW he is using an unmodified stock fw?
Btw OP, if you still want to modify your phone, go ahead. But make sure you flash your phone with ROGERS stock fw using FlashTool when the upgrade is rolled out. Still, I am not sure if they block modified X10, but an insider said so and I trust him.

Wait:-o. I can get the update with a rogers branded phone?, I though it was only generic ones
We are still not sure about that. It depends on rogers if they want.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
So if I flash the generic one ill be able to upgrade
Plz help want to downgrade.plz help me by link of baseband rom and flash tool version......and mention any problem regarding downgrading........plz plz
2.1 TO 1.6.............?////
Why u want to do it......?
bcoz my phn reboot in almost all baseband and firmware....
Original operators 1.6 firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872298
Also, you do know that the baseband is part of the firmware? No need to flash a different baseband. They are designed regionally, so stay with the baseband that comes with the firmware.
use seus or pccompanion to get the officiallatest software.
Its 2.1 and 100% stable because its official...
If your phone doesnt work on that then send it back to SE becuase its their rom...

Some people think 1.6 is less taxing on the phone than 2.1. Maybe my battery lasted longer on the stock 1.6 than stock 2.1.
But I know the ROM I use on 2.1 is much better on my battery than 1.6 stock.
SEUS is the way to go anytime anyone's phone is acting crazy.

If you look at wb Rom it comes with the gingerbread baseband to flash if you already have root on 2.1 you dont need to upgrade to stock gingerbread flash the Rom dont reboot then flash the baseband then reboot gingerbread with root and xrecovery

i'm also x10a originally but there's absolutely nothing wrong in flashing a x10i, looks like baseband 71 works on all regions.
Yay now running gb, feels like a new phone(at least on-screen)
Sent from my x10a"i"(running pre-rooted 2.3.3) thanks doomlord:-D
If you don't want to miss anything, don't use custom ROM. Just root to delete unneed apps and xRecovery to install plugin. It works perfect.

Currently, which rom are u using?
and initially, were u on stock 2.2 (froyo) or 2.3 (gingerbread)...when u had ur "connection" working?
i tryed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529777
the previous mod was 2.3.7
it may be because of u tried to flash a rom of different baseband....if u was initially on LG stock 2.3.3 then u should use rom wich have new baseband....nd If u was on stock 2.2 then old roms should be work fine...
so i can't istall newest roms??
gimme a link of a cool room whit latest android please!
you can install official GB from LG website. In this way you will get the new baseband automatically. After that, you can root the device (there are many guides available around), install from market clockworkmod recovery and install any new ROM from this site.
Good luck!

if you want to use newest rom with new baseband then just upgrade your baseband....search for how to upgrade basebande in xda...there's a beautiful guide on that and it's quite safe i have changed mine 2 times already ;-)
Go here, read everything and STOP WHINING AROUND!!!!
now i have original lg rom updated... 2.3.3
but when it start it says wind... (f**king phone company)
Maybe the Rom you flash is not suitable for your sim, there are two version of Roms like milestone and droid
Milestone is for gsm
Droid is for the other one(i can't remember the name)
Or you should try stock Rom?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
he already said that is official GB from LG.
If that is the case, maybe you shpuldtrywoth another SIM. Looks like a SIM issue to me.
