I've been using Streakdroid since 1.6.0 and for some reason I can't get the install.txt file to work.
I put all my options in like Steve requested, but for some reason when I boot up my build it doesn't work.
I save it to the root of the sd card like the instructions said.
Anybody know how to fix my problem?
the install.txt file is only used when you are flashing the rom.
After you make changes to the install.txt are you then re-flashing the rom?
you just save it as install the .txt is added by notepad when you save it
In 1.6.0 it should be saved as install.cfg and should be placed inside the android folder in the sd card, install.txt is for 1.6.1 and higher.

And the install.txt file in 1.6.1 and higher are placed in the root of the sd card, those are the differences.

Hmm I'm still new to this so please excuse me.
But I don't believe I'm flashing the rom.
I was upgrading from 1.7.0 to 1.8.1.
After I go into Clockwork I do as the instructions say and wait for the reboot.
I think I'm doing something wrong with the install.txt file.
Clockwork didn't work for me and doesn't work for a lot of people. You should use streakmod.
Streakmod is another custom rom installer. You will need to flash it to the phone, so it can replace clockwork.

Yep, Clockwork does not work on streakdroid ROMs you have to use streakmod recovery in order to flash them.

Sorry if this has been answered (I know its frowned upon), but I'm a bit pressed for time. I installed Voodoo V3 a little while back on JFD, but disabled it for JI6 using the 'disable lagfix' file in Voodoo folder method.
Last night, I flashed Obsidian v3 with VooDoo, but the new version will not install (I'm assuming that Voodoo was not completely uninstalled), and I can't use any of the OCLF methods pre-installed with the ROM (says: You already appear to have another lag fix intalled! (/system/bin/playlogos1 less than 5kb).
I am still running Obsidian v3.
I'd appreciate the help and a walkthrough if possible!
Thanks in advance and sorry for the trouble.
Try to flash sombionix voodoo disable.zip file into clockwork recovery. You should hear voice now converting to rfs. Once done, and it boots up. Go back to clockworkmod, flash another rom without voodoo. Than you should be okay from there on.

Flashing the disable_lagfix.zip simply places a disable lagfix file in the voodoo directory (i think). I had that done before I flashed JI6 and obsidian...and the issue never went away.
Look in files folder, you see anything labeled voodoo?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Create disable-voodoo empty text file but save as disable-voodoo file and place it in your voodoo folder and reboot. See what happens.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
at the root of my internal SD is the Voodoo folder. Within it is a folder labeled logs, and also the disable_lagfix file i put in there to disable it. However, if i delete this folder, Voodoo will reinstall itself automatically when i reboot.
when i place the disable_lagfix file within that directory...it disables Voodoo, but does not completely rid the system of it. When I installed Obsidian v3 with Voodoo, it did not install the new version of VooDoo because the old one still existed. Also, OCLF also will not install and i think its also because of this.
Try pushing the disable voodoo via adb.

Or try to to do a factory restore first from clockwork. See what hapoens. I had that same issue too while back.

Swing by the project-voodoo dot org site and go to documentation (i would give you a link if i could post one but...). Follow the first set of instructions on there and you'll get voodoo out in no time. Now, I'm not entirely sure if the vibrant devs accept this as the proper method of removal for our phones but I just tried this a couple of nights ago to get Soniqu3's theme on Onyx R4. Hope this helps.
Use terminal emulator and type mount. If it says data/ rfs in there, voodoo is disabled. Are you using the oclf included in the rom? Sombionix said the one in the market will not work.
Last option for you. Do this...
http://www.teamwhiskey.com/installation-guide/rfs-lag-fix-and-you
Its the same thing oclf does, just not one click.

I can get into rcovery but I don't have the option to install from sd or make a backup. The options that I have are reboot, install packages, clear cache and there is on more I can't remember I don't have the phone with me. Install packages dies nothing but show that it can't find any update zip files. I think its not recognizeing my sd card. I have pics and music on my sd card and it works fine so I don't know what's going on.

Sounds like stock recovery. Did you download rom manager? Did you flash cwm recovery. If so reboot into recovery through rom manager
download ROM Manager, and click the first option, its like flash clockwork recovery, choose your device, and then it'll finish, then try going back there, and it should be in GREEN or something

I've done all of that. That's how I get in recovery. And its green writing. The weird thing is that I've been able to flash some roms before then I end up wanting to do something else so I use my backup and go back to stock. I did have some problems with the backup that I did and had to use odin to fix it. I then relized that I did not odin the update j16 file so I then did that. I've got the nero rom ready to go just can't get to the right recovery. I do have the clockwork recovery that I got with the rom manager.

Is there an "advanced" option?? If so go to that then you should see reboot recovery. Then you should see the install from SD card option. Also, try mounting your SD card to the computer. And try pulling out your battery while phone is still powered on.

If you are going into stock recovery after flashing CW Recovery from ROM Manager, you need to select "reinstall packages" in stock recovery (it may need to be selected twice). Then you'll go into CWM.
Also, don't delete the "update.zip" file on the root of your sd card...that's the CWM file, which is what is installing when you select reinstall packages.

Im going to give it another try when I get home. I've done the install packages but I get an error that it can't find somthing. But I will try doing it twice.

Click reinstall package and itll reboot, then click tasty again, and ur in.
If u deleted the update.zip then that's y its not working.
How do I get the update zip back
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I think my problem is with the update zip. I downloaded the new nero b4 and when I look in my files I see it but I can't open or do anything with it. But if I look in astro I see it and I can do something with it. So its something to do with the file app. Its changing it to something that I can't do anything with. I go into recovery and reianstall packages and it looks like its working but then says aborted.

Download titanium backup free/pro, menu, more, create update.zip
Remove the old one before doing this.
Then flash clockwork recovery through rom manager, then try it

Go into ROM Manager and select "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery." That will put the update.zip file back on your sdcard.
It worked thank you guys.

Every time I flash bionix-v all my phone does is hard reset. Now I'm sure its my fault. So I'm asking for help to find where that fault is. I'm following team whiskeys install instructions. But what I'm getting is sd card can't be opened or file doesn't exist. I've tried placing the file in numerous locations. But no luck. So at this point I'm begging for help! Please.

your putting it on the internal sd right??
Yes, in the dl folder on the internal card
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
no ...you dont put it in a folder.. u just place it on the root of internal sd
say if you use the stock files app ..when you open that you should be able to see your .zip there without going to any files
Oh dang! Thanks let me give that a try.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Be careful if this is your first Voodoo flash....it comes with it enabled. If you go back to a version without voodoo make sure you go into CWM (red recovery) and go to advanced and voodoo lagfix and disable it first.
Oh and let it convert and reboot completely on its own when installing..you will hear Linda talking..
Same damn thing...no joy.
No lagfix nothin just odin back to jfd...wanted a clean slate for bionix

FYI it can be in a folder...I flashed everything like this from day 1. You should use md5 checksums to verify your download when they are provided though. It will verify bad downloads that could potentially hard brick your phone.
Okay I rooted my phone with the one click root. I saw it installed busybox, have no idea what that is. Now I wanna install supercurio's ka6 build with voodoo, so my phone doesnt lag. What are the proper steps to load it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
wow! there should be a tutorial somewhere here, try the stickies. Basically your first step is to get rom manager from the market, open it then click on Flash Clockwork mod then pick vibrant. Next step is to pick a rom of your choice, I would try Bionix 1.2.1., d/l the zip file and transfer it to your internal sd card (do not extract). After thats done open rom manager again click on reboot into recovery. If the recovery is not in green letters choose install packages. When you have the green recovery choose back up and restore then back up. after thats done next choose install zip from sd card, then choose zip from sd card, then click on the zip file, then scroll down to install, let it do its thing and reboot. If you want to back up your apps then get the paid version of Titanium back up or don't. Good luck!
I just want to install supercurio's ka6 build with voodoo. He stated it was the stock samsung ka6 but injected with voodoo. Are all thoae steps required just to install this build

do this....
download sgs kernel flasher from market. go into app and backup kernel
download the ka6 voodoo kernel
move it to the sgs flasher folder
go back into sgs kernel flasher and flash kernel.

I have looked around for this answer...after flashing a few roms, there is no option to install from the sd card. I have tried remounting, reformatting, even tried to access through rom manager. Has anyone else seen this?

no, which one are you using? You should be using romracer's recovery and not the recovery from rom manager.
Also, make sure you end up in a custom recovery and not in so

go to this post and download the source file from SolidHelix then the zip file of whatever color you choose above that file ....http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1204500.....go into rom manager...flash ClockworkMod recovery...pick your phone (Atrix)...then it will say succesfull flash and give you a latest recovery build.... then reboot into recovery...wipe devalk cache....install the source file zip from SolidHelix should be titled..romracer-android_bootable something zip... then install the CWM-recovery zip (color of choice)... then reboot phone...you should now have Rom Racers CWM installed and never have to flash the recovery again.. Hope that helps
