Hi guy/girls,
ive looked through as many threads as i could and downloaded a few roms and im rather stuck which to go for and hoping you peeps could help me decide?
basically what i want is:
Adobe flash support
camera + video cam
make phone calls and 3g networking
not to bothered about mediascape
So far i have downloaded MIUI_xperia_TripNRaVeR-CFMod.v7 and [rendeiro2005]Cyanogen6.1.3_v01.
the [rendeiro2005]Cyanogen6.1.3_v01 seems to be my fave im just not a great fan of the theme but i could always install one i like i asume? im a relative noob but still know my way around xrec and rooting. if im missing a rom that fits my needs does any one have any further recommendations?

Im using CM 6.1.3 V4.1,I really like it.I was using Free X10,but this one seems a little bit smoother. I also switch back to SE 2.1 to use the video cam in HD. Video illusion+Vingette works just fine as alternatives. Theres probably atleast 1,000posts about those apps on here.
Bluespark rom I'm using it right now and its bloody amazing its very quick no laggs!

I would say try a couple making xrec backups for each so you can play around and find the one that really suits you.

he said he wants one with camera and camcorder, and the froyo roms dont give hd recording. i would go with the high performance 2.1 rom, it's very fast and awesome!

I just downloaded the blue sparks rom im going to give this a try now, it seems promising and i quite like the look of it theme wise, thanks for the replies guy

I will give you my personal testimonial.
I am using this rom h t t p:/ / forum .xda-developers. com / showthread.php?t=941745 for last 10 days.. and I can asure you that so far it's the best 2.1 rom that I had tried till now. It's completely functional and too smooth.. beyond the amazing theme and still there is two flavors available Gingerbread Theme and Gingerbread plus Arc Theme Personally I prefer the second one. By the way I tried almost all roms available in this forum and for sure the best one is EW JET by erickwill.
i've just installed rendeiro's cyanogen+fx10b4 and while i'm loving the ROM, i'm also going to tweak the theme to my liking.
I'm also searching for that perfect one.. now using TripNArc, but it's not done yet

Well im using the blue sparks Rom with arc home screen and enjoying it just wondering if there is a 2.2 froyo Rom around that sd card actually mounts I am unable to find one as of yet

what? sd card mounts fine on both freex10 beta 4 and wolfbreaks cm.....
Maybe you just don't have proper drivers installed?

I'm now using Beta 4, waiting for trip's .54 version
CM 6.1.1-v3.2
I would suggest Free X10 Beta4,the downside is that the camcorder is working 100% yet.You can download Video Illusion as an alternative,Its a nice rom thats pretty smooth.
You do need to be the the this baseband to use it though.

That's a good question.. I am looking for the same.. maybe the one by Z.. that's a great rom. Fast and smooth so far. However the camera camcorder doesn't works properly for now.. may be some mod rom.. there is a couple here as I could see.
The new MIUI rom from Trip is awesome, you should try that!
I've tried several; the only one-so far with no issues (Camcorder, Market Battery etc. all smooth, stable and fast) is BitSnacker_2.1x10ROMv1.0

my suggestion (may souund boring) but keep the stock (SE) 2.1 update 1 with the latest updates
Pavi90 has a guide "how to speed up a stock x10" (something like that) i did it, everything works (i mean EVERYTHING) and its silky smooth, snappy, reliable and everything
it wont get 1000+ on quadrant, but it runs as good as i think i needs to, i would compare it to an iphones smoothness with these mods
2.2 beta 4.... Miui is ugly as sin imo. If you want your phone to look like an iphone why not get one? The rows of icons are so freakin bland...it's everything I dislike about iphone

I Love freeX10 beta4 if HD video rec is worked out then this would be the ultimate rom..
PS there is a ps1 emulator called FPse that only works on 2.2+Roms. But its near perfect and is the main reason i upgrade + flashplayer too

I use cm6.1.1 rom. on baseband .54. Would love to try Gingerbread ROM but not sure if stable for my baseband.

I'm considering installing FreeX10 beta4 on my X10. The other ones look good too.
Hey guys if anyone knows how to get the original sony camera onto x10 beta 4 2.2.1 I'd really appreciate the help.
Also Is there anyway to get timescape back? I kinda miss it.
Sorry dude, no offence to you, but these camera threads really are getting out of control.
So, im gonna tell you exactly what I told someone else in another thread last night about a camera.
The camera on FreeX10 actually gives a better quality picture than the stock 2.1 camera from SE. I have been doing a million tests lately with different camera apps, and FreeX10 actually does better than alot! Maybe all the fancy settings arent there, but quality wise...its top notch.
If you wanna run 2.2, and dont like the the camera on it....go buy vignette from the market, its your next best option.
As far as timescape goes....you will NOT see that on FreeX10...the whole purpose of FreeX10 is to get away from SE crap and well be.....FREE!
If you want timescape, and the stock 2.1 camera...then here is my absolute best advice....install a high performance stock 2.1 rom.
i understand. I still love froyo on the x10 but is there anyway to port timescape onto 2.2 manually or something like it. Sony's interface is beautiful. That's the only thing I miss about 2.1

SE's UI is nice to look at....i agree....if you wanna try to put timescape on beta4 yourself....grab the files in root explorer, and try to install them on beta4....i can almost guarentee it wont work lol.
About making it work....i dunno, im sure a dev somewhere could do it....but probably wont lol.

Yeah, as of right now videocam illusion is your only choice. Set it at its lowest setting and it should work ok. The quality and framerate are absolutely terrible tho, so basically if you wanna use 2.2 then you gotta give up video recording for a bit lol. Its a trade off haha

Guyz... V hav got many roms... But lets just keep it simple and sort out the best everyday used roms...
I still am on 2.1 and want to move on furthur...but i just cant decide..every rome has drawbacks... So in the quest for the best...or near to one...suggest:d

The ONLY drawback to either is that you need a 3rd party app (videocam illusion) to use the camcorder...
Otherwise they are 100% stable and perfect.

I find them both pretty equal. MY suggestion is flash bandwidth .55, seems to be better than .54...
I get a day no problem, and I use my phone pretty heavily. Two days with light to moderate usage.
Wolfbreaks CM V4.3 is the best IMO.

If you like to use a 2.3 ROM use the TMRgingerARCmOd
ROM from rdannar. Its pretty stable for a gingerbread ROM and I think, don't quote me on this, but I think it has more stuff working than the other 2.3 gingerbread ROMS. Try it. But no camera at all works on the ROM. Who needs a camera though? You got the most updated software at least working for the x10.

There's alternative camera Apps that work. I love to how the transitions are seamless scrolling between screens and Apps. Using the latest flash Player is also a huge advantage to. My wifi auto connects with now problem and the bluetooth works fine.
2.1 is old and outdated and slow. I'm currently using Cm 6.1. 3 and it's exceptional. I was using free x10, which was great but I still prefer wolfs rom.
Time for you to get with the times, so you can get a real phone.
Besides you can always flash between roms, it only takes 5mins.

everything is fine.... i installed video illusion..but i seem 2 hav lost the sensitivity... i mean i have 2 slide my finger 2 or 3 times...to get the scrolling... and some times the icons dont get selected...is it becoz of the "illusion.."???
and 1 more thing.. when i use illusion... n record the video.. my voice is played like a chipmunks...what the hell is that??
i had the same problem too with the screen. so i switched roms but the video illusion is like that. i personally think its hilarious. lol but its how its processed through the phone i think for that app or the rom.

Tonight i updated my fathers x10 from 2.1 to 2.3, i thought that it will be like my arc but its now slower than the 2.1, and i am tired of seeing my father with that phone, he didnt say anything but originally i am made him buy that phone back when it was a very decent phone,n not even one 2 x10! so i want any thing.... Anything that makes x10 superfast just like arc and i want everything to be fully working for him, a good rom with a good theme, i.mean not like a rom for teenagers
I checked CM7 and blue sparks rom my self, blue sparks is very fast and smooth, but i want an answer from you guys

I'm using WB-XPERIA TW Gingerbread V3 | Theme Chooser, xLoud & Bravia by wolfbreak. He has been doing some excellent work! The only prob I have with his rom is that I can't share my internet connection via Ad Hoc wifi. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with his rom

Confirm, Wolfbreak WB-XPERIA TW Gingerbread V3 rom best aviable right now. I think it cant get any better without custom Kernel
Definately WB rom. Now to Version 3.5 as of today! This dude keeps working on it lol. But this version is awesome, very fast, reliable and well I had it for a few hours only but it seems like the battery is well optimized too. Check yancm's post for link. Peace

I use it as my daily rom but I must say I find Zdzihu's FreeX10 to be more reliable
I tried the z cm7, very fast smooth and looks great, but Im really into miui now and please no flack but tripnravers new miui is really amazing, super fast. Its a matter of taste but depends on if you like cm or miui, I havent tried trip cm7 to compare but yes the z one is blazing fast. Hard to say what the best is but theres some great stuff popping up for x10 lately.

I'm currently using GB rom from wolfbreak. personally I find it fast and stable.
I´m with Z´s CM7. I was using Free X10 Gingerbread
Both are great ROMs, I´m having a "good" headache on choosing which one is the best for me.

wolfbreaks 2.3.3 v3.9 handsdown.fast reliable no fc,s and everything works. give it a try standard se look with turbo.really nice. well done to wolf

cm7 zmod v3...
so freakin fast!
Newest version of EWJet (X10x EWJet Gingerbread V2.3.5ex with V5.4 Patch - as of 8/16/11) is blazing fast, no FC's...only thing with mine is that the widgets in overview bounce around too fast for my liking, not sure if it's the same for everyone.
