I have been experiencing problem with stock browser, it's takes forever to start loading a page over 3G network, including other browers. wifi works well.
application works fine in whatever connection.
any other solution?
I don't want to root my phone.

i have x10 with the latest firmware.
i am using wap connection from my network provider.
my browser works great.
other applications, like mail, weather update, market.... they are unresponsive.
so i inserted my sim in a normal phone java based samsung s8000 and it worked perfectly.
same with WM based phone omnia II, and symbian based E72.
so dear developer do u think that the problem is in the android system or the phone xperia x10. and have u an idea how to resolve it.
N.B this problem existed in the iphone and it was resolved by by editing the ‘proxy.pac’, and the function FindProxyForURL changes to:

First of all you didn't describe what kind of problems are you having?
Like slow brownsing, or some applications not working and so on...
Second, you're not using WAP, you're probably using 2G (EDGE) connection (look for the symbol on the fone notifications tab, it is probably a "E" symbol in the right upper corner when you're connected) and if it is that, that's why you are having slowdowns and other problems since 2G (EDGE) connections are slow, and sometimes can lead you to very slow loading time in applications that need internet connection.
Since the X10 it's like a computer, of course he uses more internet connection then some other phones to open apps, like it's diferent when you are brownsing on a phone java based and a phone that needs all resources to open the brownser, or market etc... navigation on the XPERIA it's much more heavy.
You can make a test, just use your WI-FI connection to open apps and surf the WEB (make sure it's at least a decent wi-fi connection) and you'll see, things will be much more smoother.
ya i am using edge connection.
it is not slow at all, the browser works good, but other things they do not connect, it tells me failure network.
on the otherhand it works on other platform.
for example, youtube app it woks on WM on symbian but not on android.
Then maybe your apn is wrong

I think it's something with your software... Maybe an app is blocking your internetconnection in your other apps... You can try a clean new install without any extra apps and try if that fixes the problem

Yes, in that case, i suggest you make a backup of all your things (use Mybackup Pro, great app for backups) and then use SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) to hard format your phone and you can test it from the begining the apps that doesnt work, if they are working now.
Make shure to write down you APN settings, cause maybe you will have to put them manually in the APN settings, the backup app doesn't backup your APN.
I ran the one click exploid .apk root updater/market fix/root today and everything is working properly EXCEPT my data connection. I've looked through settings and stuff to see if I had to manually connect to the network or something and had no luck.
My phone is an X10a and I'm with Rogers. I haven't called the carrier to see if there's anything they can do, I figured I'd check here first.
You tried the auto internet sectionn in Wireless settings >> Mobile Network settings?

I cannot get ANY browser to work on my Galaxy note over 4g. It works fine on Wifi. ALL other web connected apps work fine, both WIFI and 4g. what could the problem be? This is on a stock unrooted Note, not my wonderfully Bad Azz Saurom Note!
Sounds like your 4g isn't working correctly. I wouldn't think it was your browsers if they work on wifi.

but, everything else web connected works, including the Google Play store, Facebook, games, etc.
do a full wipe and flash rom again. should solve your problem
The problem is not with my rooted note, it is with the unrooted stock note. All internet connectivity works on Cellular data, except web browsers. I even installed Dolphin HD, and it also will not connect. Everything else works fine. Email, Facebook, games, and Google Play Store. Browsers work fine on WiFi, just not on Cellular Data. This is a REALLY perplexing issue.
Did you make sure that you have the 4g data pack selected under wireless and network settings? Just a thought.

Yes, packet data is on, APN settings are correct, too. It's just the most perplexing problem I've seen. Probably going to try factory reset, then warranty if that doesn't work.

Have you tried different wi-fi networks?
This sounds like your wifi network -or at least it's internet connection- is restrictively filtered through a firewall.
Are you by any chance in a corporate, university or otherwise managed/shared network?

everything works fine like facebook ap gmail browsing etc all
but drop box and s voice only working on mobile data

I had the opposite problem. Non http apps would only work on wifi and not hspa. I just changed my apn settings and it fixed it. So I can only imagine it's a network issue, not letting certain ports through maybe.

This is happening to me too; nice to know I'm not the only one although it seems to be a rare problem.
OTA update which seemed to run without a hitch, stock recovery, coming from rooted but otherwise stock honeycomb. I have voodoo OTA root keeper, which did it's job.
I'm fairly conservative with the tab, I've not changed any of the default settings since the OTA, I let all my apps redownload after the update and their data was still there; I have TiBU but didn't need to use it, definitely haven't restored any system data or aps.
My tab sees the sim card, I can send texts and get replies, it knows what network it's on, I get occasional notifications but can't actually connect to anything (have tried search, the browser, FB app, gmail app, news app, all time out).
The simm card works fine in my phone, the simm card from my phone which gives me mobile data on my phone doesn't on the tab.
Settings says there's no ip address available - I never checked before the update, don't know if this is normal.
I've not bothered much with customising the tab since I mostly use it for work, can anyone suggest where I might start trying to fix this?

I checked a number of threads about mobile data and honeycomb - to get to mobile network settings you go
settings > more > mobile network
I wasn't in flight mode, packet data was selected, network mode was on auto.
The fix turned out to be changing the apn - there are 6 offered, I worked my way down the list (I could have phoned and asked, but that usually means being on hold for 30 minutes first), most of them had no network at all, the default one had a network connection but no mobile data, one works properly
(my tab is on Optus, the correct apn turned out to be optus preconnect)
