noticable speed boost - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

not sure if everyone knows this. there is an app called spare parts that has to great features.
speed up animations and menus I believe. check it out on the market. I load it with all my android phones.
same concept as tweaking windows settings to make things pop faster.

How do you do that? is that compatibly mode?

Unchecking compatability mode made most apps run full screen on my Wits A-81.

They are on Steve's ROMs

There is an option to change font size but when u exit the app or even rotate it after u change the font it will go back to normal (running 1.8.1)

I love spareparts, One of my favorite apps. Speeds everything up.

where are all the market apps?

I'm sure this has been discussed but I saw on the captive forum that they have some sort of fix to get all the Alps to show on the market. Ex: angry birds and some live wallpapers. Since our phones are basicly the same is there a way to fix our market to show all Apps?
Right now I'm doing a work around and using appbrain.

Would love to see a fix for this issue. I rooted my cliq and was running the leaked 2.1 was can see a lot more Apps then on the phone that replaced my cliq.

Thanks for the info I plan to update now
Looks nice, just wish topic lists could also be available in landscape orientation.

I wish we could download attached files directly to our phones. It would save me a lot of hastle of loading some of these apps.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Aargh! No landscape, that's a real pain for me, is there a way to roll back to the previous version?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember having the ads before either.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
You can go into landscape mode only inside a thread. And the ads r definetly new.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Hmm, apart from a brief new loading screen, I don't see any improvement with this. Don't want to complain about a free app but in my opinion this is a bum update that should have been left alone!
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I am need landscape. Or previous version please
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Gotta say i dont regard it as an improvement. Still free though.
any reason for lack of landscape outside threads? Its a bit like the facebook app update

New version out today and landscape is back.

[Q] Macro desktop icon shortcut

Im looking for a app that will kill selected apps then turn screen off
Eg i use systempanel widget to end tasks then screen off and lock shortcut
So looking one icon to do both.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Haven't tried it, but it sounds like Tasker could do that one easy...
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Yeah just tried it and tasker has the ability to create task activated at event screen off then kill apps
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
Thanks
ye found that, i may of missed a setting i can only find the option to kill 1 app.
Is there an option for tasker to run a widget that kills all apps except 1 or 2 excluded apps?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Why would you want to do that?....each to their own...I believe you will have to set a kill app for all apps you want to kill....still think killing all apps is crazy
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
When I said all I mean all that are using x amount of memory or ones that stay in memory that I don't want but making sure specific app are never killed.

As an alternative; "Automateit" can probably also do this. Its a lot more intuitive to use/setup.

Small screen,in need of keyboard

I've tried nearly 10 keyboards and none of them seem to suit my need of being able to see what I type when I'm using a browser (ie...dolphin,opera,stock browser). Does anyone know of a keyboard that doesn't take up all of the screen when using browsers..when I'm texting, keyboards like wp7 and smart keyboard pro are functional and I can see what I type

Have you tried SwiftKey 3 its a paid app but it works perfect for me

It's not laggy at all. I've been using it for a while

What do you mean you can't see what you type? The screenshot is dolphin, cm7.2 nightly, stock keyboard.

I think he means in landscape mode.
But I can see what I type, screenshot:

+1 for SwiftKey. I got it free from the amazon market one day, and it has been the absolute best keyboard for me since. I would say well worth the couple of bucks it actually costs.
Perfect Keyboard gets a close second, with Go Keyboard bringing up third due to the insane amount of customization you can do to it.
This is what I mean..I've included two shots..one using browser while on Facebook the other using xda premium...I'm now on williamcharles's aokp from. While typing this I can see what I type...
Edit: well I can't include screenshots because the xda app keeps FCing on me..I probably have to clear data and reboot...

[Q] Fastest, Lightest SMS App

What is the best SMS app other then the built in one.
The majority of apps I have found have extra useless features or are not smooth.
I am on android 2.3 Atrix 4G I could upgrade to 4.1 but I'd rather not.
Let me know what you use.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
I use stock app.
Since you ask for a light one, there is an app called "FREE SMS SENDER" in play store. It can be used to send sms via Internet or the default carrier messaging thing.

Yeah I'm using go SMS in lite mode I just wish I could fully remove themes and Go store and all the bulk.

Yah. The go sms is filled with crap stuff. Even I used it once, it's completely messed up.
So I switched back to stock.
But I'm using the message app from CM10. That's cool with quick reply and call back thing.
Sent from my muffin LIFE! Under maintenance.!
Right, I just don't want to go to CM10 until it becomes more stable. I used it for months but CM7 is much more stable.
I'm using Messaging 7 which is light but still not ideal.
