[Q]Does this app exist? (or clues to making it) - Droid Eris Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've set up a spreadsheet to do all this work for me. basically I enter in minimal data, eg clients name and the package they ordered, andy auto fills all of the related expenses and ordering needs, as well as remaining balances.
what I'm looking for is an app I can read this information from the spreadsheet and display it better. or an app that I can put all this information into. I'vel try a couple different database apps, but those are mostly for making lists. does anyone know something that would fit the bill?
-OR-
would it be possible to create this in google app inventor?
Thanks.

Omg!
I totally thought I was in the android general section!
Sorry fit cluttering up the dev section!

That's all right, got you covered. In the future, if you'd like a thread moved, just PM the mod for that forum (currently me for the Eris.)

As a last resort, could you accept being able to merely manage the spreadsheet on your phone? I haven't used any of the Office-compatible Android apps in a while, but I know some handle Excel, if that's what you use. Or even if you use the free online Google Docs, it's compatible with Excel as well.

Alternative Market?

I've got a simple question that perhaps somebody could answer. I know that there are some alternative markets available on the net...some of which look exactly like the android market. I was curious to know if there is some kinda open source project (or the like) for a custom alternative market.
The reason I ask is because it would come in great handy for my business. We have a few in-house apps that are currently distributed to managers as APKs via email. It would be great if we could have a central market for which managers can update our apps from as opposed to manually sending them out, at which point they must be installed manually.
I thought I saw something a while back about some type of market framework, but now I can't find any reference to it.
Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure that I've understood completely what you meant, but you can check out Handster or the new Facebook-based Market - ESDN.
I think he is thinking of an app that would allow him to distribute apks to "in-house" business phones.
There are lots of "market-like" apps out there - SlideME, Amazon Appstore, Handster, etc. I haven't seen or heard of any market software that is open-source, however.
Alrighty...I guess it was worth a shot. Though it would be pretty cool if something like that existed. Thanks for the replies guys.

If you wish, you can try this..

While that is an alternative market, it's not exactly what I was looking for. I'm looking for an open source alternative which would enable me to use my own repository.
I think my search has ended though...I came across an open source project call aptoide:aptoide.com
It does enable me to setup my own repository, and I think that's what I'll be going with.
Interesting... looks like I'll be adding a new element to my primary source server as well.
An alternative would be to use dropbox and allow your people to sideload the apps. The phones would have to be provisioned to do so, however.
AppBrain is real good.
Aptoid and apktor - google for them.
Aptoid.com have a php script to generate xml file for android clients, but somehow it did not work for me.
See aptoid.com server section.
Im thinking about python script, but i dont have any programming skills
Dude just go to blapkmarket.com
Thats it. Your problems are solved

Another recent market I tried is opera market.

[Request][Q]:Tasklist/Schedule App/Widget;Toast Notifications;Synchs iGoogle Gadget?

I hope the title makes sense? I currently use the task list use LorSoft
Edit: So sick of this 8 post limit cannot post outside URLs business - is there exceptions for longtime lurkers
And it is great and it handles things well for the moment, but there are some things missing that I feel need addressing. Like for one the pull down notifications are just not up to scratch for a productivity tool. Meaning they are too easily forgotten about or cleared in amoungst the jargon of other notifications. I need toast and a persistent toast notification that won't clear unless say I check completed or something like that? The icons in this app, sorry to the developer are dismal, outdated and sorry but they are just plain crapola. Theres no capacity to change the theming of this app or icons for that matter. I was going to pull it appart and re-engineer it for those reasons alone just for my own satisfaction (not to re-distribute or "steel" the developers work)…but then I realised there are other features I would like to incorporate into the design/functionality that surpass what this app is.
What I would really like is a way of bringing this info "synch" to iCalendar (To-Do isn't really a "meetings" schedule or check in check out "availability" type app though?) or a tasklist XML within Gmail for users; enabling users to bring that information in as a feed for an iGoogle Gadget and if possible (even though it is retired now) bring a Gadget into Google Desktop.
I dare say my productivity would be improved with these functions. So far the LorSoft Tasklist App Widget is THE most used application onmy Android phone.
If anyone can recommend alternatives to what I am using that will fill the gaps (on the Android side of things at least) and/or the other side of things iCalendar/Gmail side of things and I can try and figure out how to feed the info into the other tools/gadgets for desktop iGoogle later.
Watching the Ice Cream Sandwich live presentation today was great seeing the calendar and its Gmail integration and sharing capability but it doesn't fullfill the task list or "TO-DO" type function that I need. Its great for visualisation…..but as you can possible sense by now opening the app or seeing what I need to do is the major issue LOL. I need toast…like IN YOUR FACE!
Any developers wana jump on board and brain storm with me on this feel free. I think uptake would be ginormous after seeing comments from Gadget requesters on Google already
I think I may have solved my own issue whilst trying to help someone else out?
Will see how it goes?

I was looking at something similar for productivity....but notes is another thing.
Whiteboard? Or Extensive notes pro. I can't post links yet
I have a thread requesting for a app widget that is a to-do list that exports or synchs to Google/Gmail or iCalendar
EDIT: I think the latest version has the exact functionality that both you and I want?

[Q] Share multiple apps on a webpage?

Hi,
I doubt that I'm the first one to think about this but I couldn't find anything useful trying to search for it, so here is what I'm looking for:
Is there an app that I can use to share a number of apps I installed on a webpage including QR-codes, GPlay-links, short descriptions etc.? The apps I know of mostly share text only and/or links but none I found allow me to generate a webpage (or use a site for this) which has all the info in a neat, organized way so that my friends can read the descriptions and decide which apps to download from there.
AppBrain's API has an app widget that would be somewhat fitting but 1) there is no app to automatically create those based on a list of apps on your phone and 2) it requires people to use AppBrain, which some people don't like.
Basically, I'd like to have it created automatically and look like the ones used by Android Police (but with links to Play-Store only and no need for ratings)
Anyone know an app like that?
TIA
SoWhy
Since I got no replies, I went ahead and put together a crude PHP script to convert a list containing Market/Play-links to a webpage and to host that list on PasteHTML.com in case you want to share it with someone (since I don't have the hosting for that). If you are interested, you can check it out here (sorry if it's slow, it's running on my home server). I'm still looking for an app that could do this though but for now this is better than nothing

[N900V] [KitKat] [4.4.2] [NC4] Comprehensive Default Applications Information

This is a piece of very new work that is in progress, but the framework is coming into place and I wanted to share this with the community for feedback and insights.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gdVCIbstn3G-GJV1qPaBjlnD7h4bBcERUpgUSm-AI1Y/edit?usp=sharing
My goal is to both catalog and research the default applications that are installed. With this information I plan to better reduce the installed applications while maintaining functionality. This work is inspired by my own tooling around that I have done on the Galaxy Tab 2 as well as others from this sub-forum that have done similar such as dkido and airmaxx23 (links below). I initially tried their suggestions, however after I found them to be both too aggressive and not aggressive enough in different regards.
With this in mind, I just restored my phone via Odin and then Kies and I am currently working on documenting the apps that exist in /data/app, /system/app, system/priv-app. From there I will be using SD Maid to associate the generic "name" with the the package/process name and .apk. Afterwards I am not sure exactly how I will proceed but I will essentially collect as much data as possible about each individual application so that myself (and anyone else) can decide on what to keep and what to remove.
I plan to test each app by freezing it before ultimately deciding on removing or keeping it for my own install. I will document this process as best as I am able for my own reference if nothing else.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2767457
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794481
Edit: And just for clarification. This is my current goal, hopefully I will not give up but we shall see.
I'll Look forward to your findings just curious how you plan to test functionality after each app removal. There is so many things that could break that you might not realize it's broken until it's too late and you have multiple apps removed.

Here is a link to my post with all of the apps that I have removed from 4.4.2 (NC4), it may be helpful for you. Keep in mind that some apps still run even when frozen, your best bet would be to just move them to an external sdcard or rename them.

Yeah Grompy, it will no doubt come down to what I find necessary and that which I do not use may well get missed (or straight up eradicated ). With that said I plan to reference other sources and hopefully that will help.
Here is the document containing my aims and goals for my own install which should help clarify what might get missed and what should not: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12BAY77gMZC752JEzA43q1Lml2jEZVTn5fvIswoOdtYg/edit?usp=sharing
Moving forward and for the time being, here are some links that I have pulled from the generic Note 3 forums that should be of added help. The Google docs link provides much of what I am aiming for here but is a bit messy.

PIQ + mobitee let us with a expensive piece of garbage.

Hello forum; I have used your post a lot for many years but I had never been encouraged to write anything; First of all, I would like to apologize if someone offends that the first post I publish is a petition; but a little story below
The company PIQ was previously dedicated to developing sports products that used an application and due to the covid 19 pandemic they have simply gone bankrupt and many of the people who bought their devices simply cannot use it anymore.
PIQ
PIQ. 13,521 likes. Intelligence leads to Victory Get your Winning Factors with PIQ ROBOT
www.facebook.com
The application uses an authentication system with an SMS code to the cell phone where it is installed and all its servers are closed; which leaves all its users swimming in nowhere; I have read in various forums that some athletes have lost up to 5 years of training history which is really unfortunate; (Although it is also regrettable not to make a backup of your files it is not the case of the post)
I'm not sure if the app cannot be downloaded from the play store so it will be put here:
Mobitee and PIQ for Android - APK Download
Download Mobitee and PIQ apk 3.1.7.5005 for Android. The Mobitee and PIQ mobile app provides unique insights to golfer of every level
apkpure.com
The application cannot be logged in or if the athlete loses their phone they will not be able to use the device again; with which it would be good to have any of the following options:
1. Is there any way in which you can bypass the login; it wouldn't matter if you couldn't track the statistics if you could at least use the hardware;
2. Is there any way in which the data packet sent by the NFC sensors can be used in another APP ???
finally; the application could be modified so that it does not work with an API on a private server, but rather save the local statistics:
I've been playing around a bit; I'm not really an expert; I have decompiled a couple of files and it seems to me that the one that might be of interest is called AccountManager.java located in
\ com \ mobitee \ base \ core \ managers
I appreciate it if someone can give me a hand since my knowledge is limited; Could you suggest to me where to start reading to get to some point:
Several users and even brands that worked with the company joined to request that they submit an open-source code or a GitHub project but I have not been able to find a clear answer to the issue yet.
Welcome to XDA
So you're saying it's a side loaded apk?
Here it is uploaded, Thanks for asking!
Yeah you didn't answer my question.
I don't download any unknown apks and very rarely side load and then only if vetted.
Hopefully someone here will help you...

That sucks. Was that in the EULA?
You may have legal recourse. Try nice first.
There probably is a way to trick it by editing it's code but that's beyond my capabilities.
However this is a site full of hawkers...

I know, Maybe somebody could help here...
On the other hand, I can not find EULA since the page is down now, but on the web page too many times a banner says "unlimited updates for life"; I think those guys were pretty confident to not go to bankruptcy
I can check for something on the web cache...

Sounds like a lost cause if the site is down.
Sometimes you need to copy your data any way you can even writing it down by hand.
Been there, lost data...
Any Help?
